7. Lord Damien Wonderhood

"So you are saying that you lived at a graveyard just to enhance your skills ?" Nicholas asked while raising an eye brow at Riley, swirling the blood in his glass before taking sips of it.

"Yeahh..and also fed on those rotten blood of humans. You make it sound like it was ridiculous Nick," Riley answered while cutting through the pancakes.

"No wonder you have gotten paler," Nicholas stated with a roll of eye as he put down the glass, before swirling his tongue around his fangs. The morning itch that he got every day was at least over, it was a constant battle for Nicholas to get used to it for not drinking from any direct source made this happen to him. He knew that he could end it all easily, but that was another story.

"I did but again I am not just a vampire and you know that," Riley spoke opening her mouth to show off her enlarging fangs as Nicholas chuckled. Riley flashed a smile at that reaction before finishing off her food.

"Why did dad call you over ?" Nicholas asked, the smile wiping off from Riley's face as she just stared at him for a moment before she sighed. She did not have an answer to that, just that she had to. Damien Wonderhood, the lord of this city and the Vampire King was having something that was very precious Riley, taking it away from her.

"Will know that soon," she replied before getting up. She knew as much as she wanted to spend time with Nicholas, she was on a mission.

"Going already ?" Nicholas asked as he took the handkerchief to wipe his face.

"Later, Wonderhood," Riley said with a smile and a wave of hand before hurrying out of the dinner room. Nicholas stared at her retreating form till she disappeared before getting up from his chair.

"Anything you need my Prince," one of the servers arrived from the back of the room, bowing to him.

"No," Nicholas whispered out absent mindly to the server who silently nodded before starting to clear out the table.

Nicholas was about to walk off when he stopped and looked back, an addictive sweet smell making him stop in his tracts as he subconsciously looked in that direction, his enhanced smelling power helping him out.

"We got some fresh blood, didn't we ? Pour out some A-negative and bring it to my room. Make it a big glass," Nicholas instructed with a tilt of head towards the server before walking off to get ready for the long day ahead.

"How do you feel, Immery ?" Christian asked as he saw her getting up the moment he walked into bedroom, her hair all messy but she certainly looked better to Christian.

"Better. Thank You," Immery answered in her groggy voice as she brushed the hair off her face and shoulders to the back while Christian looked at her healing neck. The mark from the tear was scarring and would surely fade if cared properly.

"Well you can stop saying thanks for all these small things, and jump out of the bed. It's a nice day outside and I would like go give you a tour of my place if you want," Christian offered as he drew away the curtains, the sunlight blooming up the entire room while Immery looked outside. Yesterday when they had arrived it was already dark, and she was sleeping, and she dared not to explore much.

Immery nodded at him, it has been months since she got to feel the warmth of the sunlight on herself for back in her house she was locked up in that dark room when they were not making her toil, probably as a punishment for just living.

"Your clothes are here, I don't know what's your favourite colour or style so I just ordered for a bunch of styles in all colours. Just order up whatever more you want in future ?" Christian told Immery as he open the closet door right in front of the bed, his blues boring into Immery's ebony one's as she sat there dumbfounded. He had made one of the omegas arrange and organise  everything inside the closet right in the morning. Nobody ever gave her more than a tore piece of garment and here he, a complete stranger to her, who claimed to be her mate was presenting her with an eternity worth of clothes. Never before someone gave her so much attention.

Immery hoped off the bed, pulling down the tee that had ridden up, while Christian eyes followed her movements as she walked up to the closet. Since childhood she had always liked colours, those beautiful rainbow colours always made her want to reach them, just touch one time and fill her life with those colours until now.

"You are crying ? Wait, you don't like these ?" Christian was not expecting that reaction from her, he hadn't really been around humans much, seeing her cry over something he thought would make her smile was making him feel nervous, something he wasn't really used to feeling. He was confused over a human's feelings and even a simple reaction when he cared the least about her entire race for the past centuries.

Immery entered the room after Christian, looking around, all the colours staring back at her, she smiled through her tears while Christian stood their not understanding her complex reaction.

"Thank you. But this is...way too much. How can I-" Immery started speaking as looked over at Christian, immediately lowering her eyes, not really being able to maintain the eye contact. She spoke fast. Without breaks, shuttering as a lump formed in her throat to accept that this was the reality. Her reality, before Christian cut her in. He took a step in her direction, cautiously to not scare her off while her eyes set back on him, he raised a finger and put it over her lips, before whispering a "shsh" while Immery sighed. His finger warm, way warmer than a natural human, brushing against her lips.

"The thing is, sweetheart, you need to stop thanking me. I am waiting outside, get ready in whatever you want and meet me," Christian spoke before he took his finger off her lips, brushing through as he moved to leave the closet room.

Immery stared at him leaving, still occupied with how his finger felt on her lips and overwhelmed with the entire closet thing when he stopped by the door, he looked back, holding the door before speaking up with a smirk.

"By the way, my favourite colour is blue."

______________

"The Lord is busy my Prince,"One of the guards bowed to Nicholas as he stood outside his father's study room, waiting to meet him. He hadn't met him for over a decade as he was on the mission of finding their mate along with Christian.

"Tell him that its me and he will agree. Or else I will barge him. Go," Nicholas ordered the guard authoritatively, the guard immediately bowing and going inside to convey his message to the Lord.

He knew that his father wouldn't be the happiest to see him for when he left, to avoid any hurdles from him, he just left a little note signed with his own blood to inform about his little mission.

"The Lord denied Prince. He said that he doesn't want to meet you," the guard said looking down at the floor while Nicholas nodded.

"You think you are strong enough to protect this ridiculously large metal door ?" Nicholas questioned sarcastically as he eyed the length of the door, everything in the palace was huge, and the doors were a major part of them.

"My prince.." he bowed and stood their waiting for the wrath. He knew he was in trouble for even though they both were vampires, Nicholas had royal blood in him, which gave him extra powers than others. A whole lot of extra powers.

"Don't be scared, it's the door I am aiming not you," Nicholas stated before he put his fingers over his temple, pressing the point while he barged his fangs, before he closed his eyes to accumulate his power before he aimed at the door, a loud and powerful ray of light travelled out of him, striking against the door while the guard fell aside, due to the impact as the door opened.

Being a Royal Vampire not only gave him more physical strength but also certain tricks that he could use when required.

Nicholas smirked at the guard before getting inside the room, Riley staring back at him, as she made a proud face to him while Damien Wonderhood looked at him, deathly so. He wasn't impressed by his son's little trick but he wasn't expecting anything less.

Nicholas Wonderhood was known to get what he wanted.

"You think you could stop me father ?" Nicholas said, as he went and stood in front of Damien, face to face before a smile broke out on Damien's face.

"I missed these little tricks of your's dear son. I am glad that you are back from your little failed mission," he answered before he went over to engulf his son in a hug which Nicholas reciprocated back.

"Should I leave ?" Riley asked, Nicholas always preferred having his discussion alone with Damien and she knew that.

"That's not needed, I think. Nicholas doesn't mind you here, do you ?" Damien asked as the doors of the study room again closed.

"I don't if she's ready with hearing something that she might not enjoy," Nicholas answered while looking over at Riley who seemed go be intrigued by his words.

"I and Christian found our mate, father."
