8. The Falls

"The population of all the packs under us are increasing positively Alpha. The small pack Alpha's and Luna's are very happy under your leadership and dedication," One of the ministers of the Alpha council approached Christian, who scoffed quietly as he watched him coming over, he was sitting on the bench outside the Pack-house, running his bare feet through the dewy wet grass, waiting for Immery to come out.

Christian curtly nodded to the minister who bowed to him before moving towards the town hall.

He was least interested in thinking about all this right now, his pack mattered a lot to him but not right now. He has been an Alpha to them for a long time now, without any Luna and he was eager to get one. Throughout this time the other council Alpha's, ministers and even delta's suggested both directly and indirectly that he should quit waiting for his destined mate and rather mate with any desirable she-wolf around. Each mating season he would hide himself in his bedroom, bearing all the physical and emotional pain that it caused him to not give in to the persuasion of nature, and to wait for her. Alec was the one with more patience than him and together they did survive all these tests that were laid out to them by the Moon Goddess before Immery arrived in their life.

"He tries to butter you up way lot," Alec spoke while Christian sighed. He certainly did, since over three decades he has been trying to get the position of his Beta, presenting before him balent lies and small mistakes about Lily.

"You know he's my least priority right now," he answered back before he turned his head, faster than he ever did as the door creaked open, Immery walked out, still holding the door with her palm as she tried finding Christian, she looked scared and cautious as her eyes scanned the place. The moment Immery's eyes met with Christian's, the terror in her eyes seemed to  calm down as a shy smile appeared on her face.

Christian's eye scanned her as she stood there wearing a white floral dress, the light in his eyes dropped a little as he thought that she would wear his favourite colour and come out but she rather chose white. Christian shook that thought off as he got up and moved towards Immery, who felt a relief wash over her as she spotted him, her heart picking up a certain pace as the moment in the closet crossed her mind and lips.

“Wow. you look stunning," Christian complimented her as he stood in front of her, Immery smiled and looked down before he guided Immery the way, keeping his other hand behind her, a few inches from her skin, keeping in mind about her yesterday's breakdown.

She looked up, and around the place as they started walking across the big lawn of the packhouse, towards the exit. They walked in complete silence, and mostly Immery looking around, glancing at how big the pack-house actually is and the various people walking around them, most likely werewolves.

The Silver Moon Pack was a pack that lived all around the Mountain of the Moon, consisting of various small packs which made into a big Pack that was led by Alpha Christian Wonderhood. The pack house was made out of a big cave present on the top of the mountain, the weather up here was cool and pleasant with wild and seasonal spring flowers blooming which signified the approaching mating season. The entire city was around and below the mountain, beyond which was the Wonderhood City.

" So what do you wanna see? The city or the waterfall by the bridge ?" Christian asked Immery, though he wanted to take her to a secluded place like the waterfalls for he wanted her to meet Alec, he wanted her to know who he really was under the skin of a human. But he still wanted it to be Immery's choice. He was away from here for quite a long time and surely wanted to do down and see his city.

Immery's eyes lit up hearing about the waterfall, she always saw a small one back in her place from the house. She wasn't ever allowed to go there but she saw kids and lovers going there, spending the time playing or cuddling in each other's arms still the sunset.

Immery turned towards Christian as they walked together, towards the exit of the pack-house area. Immery kept playing with her fingers, looking down, feeling nervous, she was always told what to do, no one ever gave her any options to choose from or to express what she wants, making her feel embarrassed to do so.

Christian stopped abruptly making Immery stop too as he got in front of her as they faced each other, Christian looked at her with a raised eyebrow.

"So..where ?" He asked while Immery slowly exhaled. For a moment she thought that she had angered him.

"Uh..the waterfall ?" Immery answered with a questioning tone, keeping room for Christian to change the plan if he wanted to.

"Ah, we share the same choices. So waterfalls it is," Christian replied with a little laugh, Immery looked at Christian, carefully, studying how those face muscles clenched and unclenched as he laughed.

"Come with me, the waterfall's that way," Christian instructed as he led her away from the main road that went down towards the city. They walked through the little forest that leads to the waterfalls, dry leaves all around the pathway. Immery was more focused on how the dry leaves sounded when she walked over them, smiling a little to herself as the rays of the sun fell on her.

Unknown to her Christian completely focussed on her, looking at her being happy like a child at the smallest things. He did not work around humans very well, his Delta's were better at handling the few refugee humans that would stay in the city yet he felt attracted to her; her smallest smile making his heart feel giddy.

"I do not mean to interrogate, but tell me about yourself? Yesterday you looked traumatised. Also, what's your full name ?" Christian asked as Immery looked at him, distracting herself from the surroundings that she was way too focused on.

"Immery Floss," She replied as Christian nodded.

"I was brought up by my relatives as my parents were said to be killed off in an accident. I survived but not really...the relatives did not like the extra burden..so they started torturing..and here am I, broken and lost," Immery spoke, cutting through the silence, taking brief pauses so as to not let the memories of the horror that she faced in that house get her into another panic attack. They stopped as the bridge arrived, Christian looking at her, that was the longest she spoke without stopping or quitting, the hatred for those relatives evident through her voice along with the underlying hurt.

"At least that led you to me, and Nicholas," Christian said with a hopeful smile as they got on the bridge, the calming sound of the raging water becoming clearer as they got off the bridge.

"That's the mystic falls, one of our scarred water bodies where only authorities are allowed to come," Christian told Immery as they walked closer, the beautiful Waterfall catching Immery's eyes, as she took few steps towards the water, flowing from the top of a small hill, with green shiny water around the large and small rocks was the falls, which immediately made her happy.

"Can I touch the water ?" Immery asked looking back at Christian.

"Sure, just don't fall the rocks are slippery," Christian answered as he watched her face bloom like a flower as she kicked off her shoes to run towards the falls. Christian's mind was preoccupied with how he was going to transition in front of her without scaring her. And also how was Nicholas handling things in the Palace.

Immery slowly put one of her feet inside the water, balancing herself on the small rocky floor as the cool water felt cosy against her skin. But before she could put her second foot in she stumbled, ready to fall on the rocks and water.

"Aooo.."

"Told you..be careful," Christian spoke with a little tug of teaseful smile, as he steadied her, holding her from the waist, while Immery stared at him blankly. He was almost fifteen feet away from her how could he ever reach her.

"Being a werewolf is a blessing at times, but I hate water," Christian remarked, looking down at how his pants got wet, he left Immery's waist to hold her hand as she tested herself on the rocks.

"A little water is not bad," she said before bending down to take some of it in her palm before throwing it on Christian.

"Hey! No! Not the water ya," Christian tried blocking his face with his hand as she threw the water onto him, laughing at his reaction which ringed like the bell of angels in his ears.

"Having fun ha ?" He remarked, his voice deeper than before making Immery halt at that. She looked over at him, wet from the top and bottom, realising that she was out there having fun with a supernatural creature capable of almost eating her alive.

"Having fun without me ?" The two of them felt a gust of wind blowing from the right before their familiar vampire arrived from the left.

"Were, now we aren't anymore cause you are here," Christian remarked with a scoff while Immery just stared at him.

"I missed you too little brother, and you too, Immery" Nicholas said as they all walked out of the water. Christian trying to dry his pants and shirt as soon as possible.

"Big Bad Wolf doesn't like water ?" Nicholas teased Christian while Immery sat on a branch of a log, watching the both of them.

"Whatever. How was the meeting with the Lord ?" Christian asked letting go of the jokes while Immery looked at him curiously.

"Of course bad. He did not lash out or anything as Riley was there," Nicholas answered.

"Wait, Riley? She came back ?" Christian asked looking towards Immery at once before a smirk appeared on his face that Nicholas noticed.

"Wipe that off Chris," he said with a pissed off look while Christian shrugged.

"You guys share a teeny weeny past though. But again why's she here ?" Christian asked while Immery caught up on the 'teeny weeny past' words, wondering what that meant.

Before Nicholas could speak about it, they all heard a voice, one that the brothers recognised very well, as she appeared with a gush of wind, looking at both of them and Immery.

"To help you guys out, well actually myself too. But you all need me, especially to keep that one alive."
