Chapter 66 Chapter 66

Kael’s pov

I got back to my study and sat down, thinking of everything she had said to me.

She had made very solid points, for example the camera. Every single office in the pack had a camera. That meant that I could easily get the truth out even if the camera was destroyed.

I could still get a copy from the security guard’s office. Yes, that was what I was going to do.

But then it hit me. Why would someone like Helga be mad at Eliara. After all, they were not close to each other so why would they hate each other?

It didn’t make any sense to me, but nothing made sense.

Soon enough, a knock came on the door as I looked up to see it open with Selene coming in with a tight skirt that was so short if she was to bend, she would reveal a lot and a tank top so tight it was enough for me to see her nipples.

“What are you doing?” I asked as she smiled.

“I’m showing you the new clothes I bought.”

I rolled my eyes as she locked the door then got twirled around.

“You know you didn’t have to do this right? you could just have stayed where you were and I would come to you.”

“Yeah, but where is the fun in that? Besides…” she said, getting close to me as she sat down on the desk and faced me while spreading her legs open so I could see that she wasn’t wearing anything underneath. “I am here to make sure that you don’t think too much about the pack. I’ve heard about the responsibilities that you have and I’m here to relieve some of those duties.”

“And how would you do that?” I smiled, leaning back while placing my hands on her naked thighs.

“I don’t know. Is there something you’d love to do with me?”

I look at her then at her body as I nodded, “sure.”

Grabbing her waist, I got to my feet as our lips clashed into each others.

My hands roamed about her backside, squeezing her butt while she moaned into my mouth.

My finger found a home inside her. She laid her head back while I kissed her neck, whispering sweet nothings into her ears.

She moaned when I doubled my fingers and rounded them inside her. Twisting and turning while she trashed around and came on the desk.

She removed her top as her breasts bounced, but when I grabbed one to put in my mouth, I had a flash of Eliara face.

I stepped away from Selene who stared at me with a pant.

“What is it?” She asked, her eyes widening in concern. “Is something wrong? Why did you stop?”

I sighed, rubbing my eyes. “I’m sorry… I just… I don’t know why I stopped.”

She sighed then slid off the desk, wearing her top back.

“I’ll be in the room.”

“Selene,” I called, but she walked out, slamming the door shut.

What was wrong with me? Was the bond between me and Eliara this strong that I wasn’t doing anything with anyone? Why would she torment me like this?

If I went to her and told her to explain what she had done to me, it would look like she had a hold on me and she could do whatever she wanted to me. But I didn’t want to lead her on like that.

I had to meet a healer to help me with my problem.

I walked out of the study and headed to the healers tent but instead of going to Mara I went to one of the oldest healers in the pack.

I knocked on her door as she opened the door to see me.

“Alpha,” she bowed, then stepped out of the way for me to come in. “What brings you here?”

I entered, the smell of herbs and spices filling up my nostrils.

“Forgive the smell, I’m working on something that the soldiers can use during battle to help them heal faster.”

I nodded, found myself a seat by the window and sat there.

“I need your help,” I said with a frown. “Someone did something to me and I need it removed.”

She nodded. “You’ll need to explain further my lord. I am not a seer or a reader.”

I sighed. “I can’t seem to have sex with Selene without thinking of that particular person. I don’t know what she did to me. I need to break out of the witches hold.”

She chuckled. “This person you want to break away from your mind… did you… sleep with the person?”

“What does that have to do with anything?”

She chuckled, sitting in a chair across me, “if you did then that changes things. The answer is quite simple. You have a mate bond with this person.”

I gritted my teeth, “it’s impossible to have a mate bond with someone you don’t like.”

She chuckled. “The moon goddess does like to play tricks on us wolves. For example, if we find someone we like, we may find out they are not our mates no matter how many times we sleep with them. But the moment we meet our enemy or someone we see as a taboo, that inevitably becomes our mate.”

I sighed. This wasn’t happening.

“Is there a…”

“Once bonded, there is nothing anyone can do about it. If you move on with someone else, you could have a pain so severe you would pray for death and even that would evade you. I suggest you go with your heart alpha. It’s a simple one and the simplest solution you can find. Anyone who tells you otherwise doesn’t have your best interest at heart.”

“I need another answer!” I shot to my feet, pacing around. “There has to be something else. I’ve seen people reject mates and then go on to be with someone else and live happily ever after.”

“Those were rare cases where people found their second chance mates with their first chance mates. They could easily go for anyone the like. But you haven’t found anyone like that and like I said it’s rare. Just because it happened to someone else doesn’t mean it will happen to you. The only way to get out of this would be for you to be with your true mate. Do that and you will be free.”
