Chapter 65 Chapter 65

Chapter 65 Chapter 65
Kael’s pov

“This doesn’t make any sense,” I said to him, “why would she burn down the healers tent? Mara said she was going to teach her how to control her powers. How to use her powers of healing and maybe turn it into something greater. Why would she do that?”

Dorian shrugged. “I don’t know Alpha. I don’t have the answers you’re looking for, but I wanted to give you a heads up so that when you go over there and you don’t see her there, you won’t think she has run out of the pack.”

I scoffed. “If only that was the only thing she would do because with what she’s done now i don’t see her getting out of this unscathed. I will still go to see her in the dungeon and go to the tent to see the damage that is done.”

He nodded as I got to my feet and walked out of the throne room.

On my way to the tent, I kept thinking of what must have gone through her mind for her to do what she did.

Because why would she burn down a place where she was supposed to learn skills that could help her to help this pack. But knowing who Eliara was, I wasn’t shocked. She did things without thinking.

I got to the tent and entered to see the mess that had been caused inside the classroom.

Everything was melted to the ground. Some workers had already started pulling things from the wall and they were rearranging the entire place.

“Are you looking for something Alpha?” someone said behind me as I turned to see Mara. She bowed to me, “welcome back.”

“Oh thank you,” I said, then pointed to the tent behind me. “Care to explain what happened?”

She shrugged. “I can’t say for sure, but some of the students mentioned that Eliara was the one who burnt down the classroom.”

I raised a brow, “and why would she do something like that?”

She shrugged, “I don’t know. I can’t say what she was thinking or why she would do it but it’s very clear that she is the culprit. Now we are forced to teach under the sun in the stadium.”

I sighed. “I will make sure the construction workers work two times faster so that they can get you a place to stay.”

She bowed again, “thank you Alpha.”

“How are you doing?”

She looked at me then chuckled, “it’s funny how you ask me that question when the other day you had your hand wrapped around my neck as you tried to strangle me.”

I gritted my teeth and looked away from her. “I just didn’t like the way you were questioning me like I was some sort of rebel.”

She inched closer to me, staring into my eyes with a cold look, “you should be somewhere else Alpha. This is the healers tent. If you’re not here to learn or to be treated, I suggest you go, plus I have students to teach. I just came over here to update you on what the person you brought for me did.”

The way she spoke told me she had so much unresolved anger within her. It was very clear she didn’t want me here. Her words said it all. I could only nod.

“Very well, I’ll leave you.”

I stepped back, gave her a small nod and walked away.

I headed towards the dungeon and when I got there, the guards there bowed to me and stepped aside.

I entered, closing the door behind me. I needed to be alone with her.

I took in deep breaths, then walk through every empty cell till I got to the cell that she was in.

I saw her leaning against the wall and staring at me with anger in her eyes.

“ what do you want?” she muttered.

“You don’t get to speak to me that way. I am the alpha of this pack.”

She choked on a laugh, looking away from me.

“So because you’re the alpha, I’m supposed to do what? I am in here all because of you.”

“What did I do?”

She shrugged, “I don’t know. Maybe it’s the part where I didn’t want to go ahead with the healing class…”

“…so you burn the class?”

She shot to her feet, walking to the bars between us as she held the iron bars in anger, “I didn’t burn anything, I was framed.”

“ I heard the reports. I tried multiple times to push it away because it was not my business anyway, and whoever burns the healers tent deserve to be in here. Color me surprised when I find out you are the one who did it.”

“I didn’t do it,” she repeated.

I leaned forward, “then who did? Because from where I’m standing you’re the criminal. You are the one who did that.”

She shook her head and stepped back, “believe whatever you want Alpha. I would not burn a place that gave me a home.”

“You speak like you’ve been framed.”

“Because I have.”

“Who do you think framed you?

“Helga.”

I raised a brow, “Helga? You mean Helga, the daughter of an elder in my pack.”

“Yes,” she nodded, “that Helga. She’s the one who framed me.”

“And why would she do that? She barely knows you. Besides, you’ve been learning for what? Two days and already made enemies. This is not looking good for you.”

“She’s the one who did it.”

I scoffed looking away from her, “the more you tell lies the worse this gets for you. I can’t do anything. You’ve committed a very heavy crime. You will need to sit in here for a long time, thinking of what to do with your life.”

She shrugged, taking two steps back as she flailed her arms by her side.

“It’s not like I have anything better to do. Ever since you came into my life, it’s just been chaos. I’ve been chased. I’ve been kidnapped. I’ve almost been killed. I’ve been forced to use my powers. I’ve been threatened. I’ve been imprisoned. I’ve been framed. It’s just one chaos after another.”

“Then maybe you shouldn’t have existed in the first place.”

Her eyes widened as I said that.

I looked at the other cells behind me, “you’ll need to settle in. You may not have your freedom for a very long time.”

“Then why don’t you investigate what I told you about Helga. She is the one who framed me. Besides, if I was the one who poured all those acid things and I burned down the place as I was framed to do, would I have gone through the trauma that I went through with her?”

“What are you talking about?”

She stepped close. “I noticed that there was a camera right there in the classroom this morning and it was working. Even though it’s burnt, it should have a memory there and unless somebody wiped it out, I think the evidence should point against Helga not towards me. After all, when I got to the healers tent today to learn things I was supposed to learn, she approached me with her goons and she poured glue on my face. I had to run out to wash it just for me to get back to the tent and be arrested for what I didn’t do.”

She was speaking with so much intensity and I didn’t know whether to believe her, but I was going to try my best to investigate.

It was the least I could do as the Alpha of the pack.

“Okay, fine,” I said. “I’ll see what I can do about it. You should stay put like I said earlier. You might not be leaving here in a very long time.”

She went back to sit on the floor, putting her face between her knees as I walked away from the dungeon.
