Dorian’s pov

I hadn’t expected Helga to kiss me. I had expected her to behave herself in front of a guest, but instead it seemed like I might have miscalculated how women in the pack behaved. 

I looked across the room to see Selene still standing at the door with a shocked look on her face. She had not expected this either as she scoffed and walked close to the desk to look at us. 

“When did this start?” She asked as I rolled my eyes, then rubbed my temple. 

Selene was about to get jealous. I hoped she wouldn’t lose her lid over what just happened as Helga turned to her. 

“Oh, we’ve been dating for around two days now. He wanted me to do something for him and then I asked him what I would get in return and here we are.”

I looked at Helga and smiled. “How about you go to my room and wait darling. I’ll be right there with you.”

“But I don’t want to go,” she said in the babyish voice, as i took in deep breaths and smiled at her.

“Baby, just go. When I come there I will treat you nicely and maybe we can go to the restaurant that you’ve always wanted to go to.”

She jumped up and down clapping as she smiled at Selene, bowing to her and walking out.

Selene locked the door then turned to me with anger in her eyes.

“So you want to tell me what that was all about?”

The tone of her voice was cold. She was jealous. 

I shrugged looking away from her. “It’s not important. You don’t need to bother yourself with things like this.”

She scoffed, “things like this?bShe entered and kissed you in front of me. That is not just things like this. That is something more intimate. Just a couple of days that I’ve been gone you’ve been seeing someone else.”

I looked at her my brows furrowing. 

“Are you okay?” I asked as she shook her head. 

“I am not. I am losing my mind here. I have been keeping myself for you.”

She couldn’t have told a better joke as I leaned back, staring at her with a confused look before laughing out loud.

“You have been keeping yourself for me? You’re trying to tell me that when Kael came to visit you in the hotel room, that you both didn’t do anything?”

“We… did,” she acknowledge, “but we did it because it was my job.”

I leaned forward, clasping my hands over my desk, “and I’m doing my job too. Helga is just a placement. If anybody was to notice that you and I were having relations, they will lose their mind. You are the Alpha’s girl, don’t forget about that. I am the beta, the alpha and the beta cannot share one woman. It is against every single pack law ever created and that means that you and I can never be until the alpha is dead. So why are you on my case right now when I’m with someone else trying to cover our relationship?”

“This isn’t right. You’re there with that skank of a girl and you want me to not be mad?” I got to my feet slowly, taking in deep breaths and rounding the desk to hold her hands in mine. 

“How about you relax. I don’t want you to think of this as me cheating on you, just think of it as me looking for an end to our means, that’s Helga. She helped me take down the omega. She was the reason that I could successfully destroy her right now. Eliara is in prison and that is all that matters.”

She didn’t believe me. It was clear. She was still mad at me for seeing someone else as I slowly leaned down, putting my lips on her and kissing her with fervor.

I placed my hands around her waist to drag her into me.

Slowly, I carried her and placed her on the desk with my hands roaming her body. To be fair I had missed her. She had been so far away from me and while being with Helga I had tried to distract myself with her even when she wasn’t Selene.

My phone rang which shattered the tension in the room as I looked into her eyes and got out my phone.

We both looked to see it was Helga calling.

“I have to take this.” I muttered.

Selene slid off the desk and arranged her clothes as she looked at me in anger.

“We will have to stop seeing each other except it’s for plans,” she sighed. “I know you don’t want anyone to know about us and I understand but seeing you with another woman… it’s just wrong. Don’t you care how I feel?”

I got angry again as I pointed to her. “You fuck Kael all the time. How about how I feel? Or does that not matter anymore?”

“Dorian…”

“If you want to go, you can leave. I have a date to get to.”

She stared at me for a long time without saying anything. This was the first time we were arguing all because of Helga.

It was beneath us. We were losing sight of what was important which was the throne. 

“How about we talk about this when we both are calm?” I suggested as she nodded.

“I’ll be unpacking. You should go be with her.”

She then walked out of the room as I sighed then walked out a minute later.

On my way to my room I started thinking of how I would break things with Helga, but when I entered my room everything shattered.

She was laying naked on my bed, smiling and calling me to join her.

I immediately got a hard on which had me closing the door behind me.

“What do you think you’re doing?” I asked as she shrugged. 

“You’ve been working so hard in the pack. I haven’t seen you with any woman seeing as you only focus on work and I know you have a lot of pent up energy within you. Let me take that energy off you. Come lay with me.”

This was my perfect cover. If I had sex with her, no one would suspect me and Selene. I had no choice. I would have to sleep with Helga.

Without thinking twice, I removed my clothes and joined her in bed.
