Chapter 57 Chapter 57

Chapter 57 Chapter 57
Kael’s pov

The moment he left the study, I got to my room, got into a better outfit and got out of the packhouse getting into the car and driving off into the road.

I followed the instructions given to me that led to where she was staying, a small hotel off the highway and the neighboring pack.

I didn’t slow down or obey any traffic rules. I just slammed my foot on the gas and sped through the night and within thirty minutes I was in the neighboring pack slowly sliding into a spot in the parking lot of the hotel before I got out.

I took in deep breaths, then walked to the receptionist, as I got out Selene‘s picture and showed the woman sitting there as she nodded and asked for my name so that she can put my name down as a visitor.

“Kael,” I said. “Alpha Kael.”

Her eyes widened as she nodded then waved for me to go up the stairs, “she’s at room 106.”

“Thank you,” I said to her before walking away from her and heading straight for the room.

When I got to her room, I took in deep breaths before knocking on the door. I heard someone stumbling and cussing as the door opened for me to see a laughing Selene standing before me.

She saw me and her smile immediately vanished.

“Kael?” she asked in shock as I smiled.

“Hello Selene, how are you doing?”

She scoffed, shaking her head. “I can’t believe this. What are you doing here? How did you find me?”

“Are you going to invite me in?”

She stared at me for a while in anger before stepping aside, gesturing for me to come in.

I walked in then looked around. It was just a regular hotel but this one had a living room.

I then turn to her. “I heard you were going to be staying with your uncle. I didn’t think you’d be stuck out here.”

“Well,” she said, closing the door behind her and staying there while staring at me like I was total stranger. “I met up with my uncle, but it turns out that he was traveling and he had guests over in his apartment, so I decided to stay here. I can’t stay with people that I don’t know, so me being here is the best thing I can do for my life right now.”

I sighed, getting close to her as she frowned.

“You can come and stay in the packhouse with me.”

She chuckled, shaking her head and rounding me as she walked to the middle of her living room spreading her arms around.

“I’m comfortable where I am, I don’t need to come back to the packhouse and be treated like trash.”

“Who will treat you like trash?”

She waved her hands around in frustration. “Everybody! Every fucking person would treat me like trash and I am fucking tired of it. If I’m being honest, I just want to be on my own. You being here complicates things and I need you to leave right now.”

I raised a brow. “Is that truly what you want?”

She shrugged, “what do you want? I’ve done everything you want. I’ve given you everything, my undying love, my undying support. I’ve been there for you even when you were with your first love or your first mate or whatever you want to call her. I was there. I was there to console you after she died. I was there to pull your pieces back together. I was there before you went to war and I was there when you came back dead. I was there when you woke up. I was there when you decided to bring up the stupid idea of getting married in seven days. I tried to tell this wouldn’t work and you still insisted on it. I brought my friends. My family brought their friends, people from different packs showed up and you abandoned me in front of everybody. Why? So you can save that Omega. You left me at the fucking altar and when you got her back I was still there by your side trying to understand why you wouldn’t just continue with the wedding and mating ritual. Even if it was a small one just get it over with. But you didn’t. Everyone in the pack looked at me like a loser. Someone who had been rejected twice by the same man and I was too stupid enough to stay there, but no more Kael, no more. I am done being in a pack that I am not accepted as an equal to you. I am done being in a pack that people see me as less. I can’t stay in a place where I’m not wanted.”

I knew that I had done something bad to her, but this had to take the cake with the way she explained it and the way Dorian also explained it.

I was a terrible person. This conflicting feeling I had in me for that omega was ruining everything, but that all ends today. I was going to make sure that whatever ties that was between me and that Omega would be destroyed.

There was no need rushing the marriage anymore. There was no need to rush Selene into coming back. She could stay where she was, but I needed her to be with me no matter what.

I closed the distance between us, taking her hands in mine as I looked into her eyes with a deep gaze, then i leaned closer to her, kissing her with a feather-like kiss as she pulled away, “what are you doing?”

I smiled, “maybe you’ve forgotten how I feel about you and it’s all my fault.”

She rolled her eyes, “duh! whose fault is it anyway.”

I smiled, leaning closer to kiss even more as her hands went around my neck and my hands slid down to her butt, squeezing it and pulling her into me as she gasped with her moans filling up my ears.

I slowly led her to the couch and stared into her eyes with intense gaze.

Just before I could kiss her, a piercing headache hit me as I winced in pain, pulling away from her.

Her eyes widened.

“What’s wrong? Are you okay?!” She panicked as I gave her a bitter smile.

“I am very hungry from the trip.”

That was a blatant lie but how could I describe what was happening to me.

“You are hungry. That is why you won’t kiss me.”

“Oh I will,” I said with a smile but since morning, I’ve been having meetings, talking to different people and right now I’m very hungry.”

She nodded. “Why don’t you sit down and let me make something for you.”

I smiled, “thank you. Where is the bathroom? I need to use it.”

She pointed down a hall, “go through there then to the right.”

“Alright, thank you,” I said getting up with her as I kissed her and then walked away to the bathroom.

The moment I entered, I locked the door behind me and looking into the mirror as my wolf appeared before me.

‘What the hell do you think you’re doing?’ My wolf said as I growled.

“You need to stop being a cock blocker, get out of my head. I’m trying to get our true mate.”

My wolf growled back, ‘she is not our true mate. She is a distraction. Stop trying to get her back or else you will hurt yourself and hurt her. She doesn’t deserve this Kael neither does our mate Eliara.”
