Where have you been?

Where have you been?
CHAPTER 17

As I walked down the hall way, I noticed that the entire space was vibrant and bright.

The hall filled with students talking in groups about something that seemed to intrige them and I couldn't help but asked myself what's going on?

Just then I heard one of the girls talking about a ball or something like that.

Tonight, the school was hosting a charity ball that was happening this night, Where each student was expected to come to the ball arena with their different partners or date.

I cancelled every idea about attending the ball. Mainly because I had no interest or intention of going anywhere. I preferred the comfort and company to my bed to being around sffocating people,

When I say that, I meant the triplets and their favourite stalker, ‘Claudia’ I rolled my eyes at the thought of her.

I Head towards my locker and stuffing my book in it when I heard someone call my name and I stopped on my track.

I exhaled, her voice was one I could recognise from miles away, Queen bee again.

Sincerely, I began to wonder what it was about me that intrigued her so much! So much that she went about bothering me every single day of my life since I joined this school.

She even stalked me outside school premises. Sigh as I hear her footsteps behind me.

Here comes nothing….

“Hello Lisa.” she laughed.

“It's Alicia.” I corrected, turning to face her.

“Oh, whatever. Are you not coming for the ball tonigh?”

“I'm not interested.” I retort, shutting my locker and waiting patiently for her to leave but it seemed as though she had other plans.

“Oh… poor thing. Your parents don't have enough to support you?” She mocked and her minion began to laugh.

“I could beg my father to help your ass if only you could go on your knees and grace my foot.” She whispered and I bit my lips.

I felt a pang of pain within me and I smirked at the thought of what she had said.

Who the hell did she think she was talking to?

I wasn't a nobody and my stepfather had just enough money to single handedly sponsor the so called “charity ball.

“Over my dead body would I grace your foot Claudia. Your shoes stink just like your breath.” I scoffed and I felt the hall fall listen. People were shocked at the amount of audacity that I used to challenge Claudia's every move. We'll I wasn't going to let some random spoil brat bully me.

She was still speechless and trying to check if her breath stinks like I had mentioned.

“Uhmm, about the ball. I'll be there by whatever time the event starts.” I said, usually using my shoulder to push her out of my path and walked away but just then I stopped on my track when I saw the triplets. Not again, when does all these come to an end? I murmured and watched them draw even closer.

“So you plan to attend the ball tonight, huh?” Alex asked, with a smirk plastered all over his face which annoyed me.

“I'm glad you heard that.” I replied

“You do know you can't come without a date right?” Arnold reminded.

“So?” I shrugged.

“Maybe if you apologize for being such an ass then we could consider you come along with us.” Adrian suggested and I saw them node in affirmation.

I couldn't hold it back anymore, I laughed out loud to my heart content. So they wanted me to apologize then ask them out to be my date? Nahhh that was never going to happen!

“What's funny?” Adrian asked. “Besides I'm very sure you don't have anyone to attend the ball party with.” He added

“Absolutely nothing. I was going to ask, why has Claudia been on my neck because of you three brothers?” I finally asked the question that had been on my mind for the longest tme since I arrived this school.

“Oh about that..” they hummed

“Yh, tell me, cos I've not known peace since she sensed something was going on between you guys and me!” I stated.

“Isn't there something going on between us?” Adrian asked.

“certainly, there isn't.” I scoffed. “Also you guys need to talk to her. I'm not enjoying this anymore.” I added.

“Relax, she's just having fun. She likes taunt you.” they say casually as though it was something really normal.

“Well I don't enjoy being taunt by anybody.” I snapped angrily.

“Always dramatic, you don't have to make a mountain about it, there really isn't anything special about you.” Alex scuffed.

“Well I'm glad you see that, because today is going to be the last day people get to talk about us.” I said and walked away,

I knew they didn't understand what I meant by that and of course, they thought I was joking or pulling their like usual, but not this time around I was going to end this scandal once and for all since there wasn't anything special about me.

I thought of what to do and that was when and idea crossed my mind. To fight a scandal you needed another scandal, I smiled. But how exactly was I supposed to do that? And just then, I remember the handsome, good-looking dude I met yesterday at the library.

..Finn…

I was happy at least I had remembered his name but I had no other information about him.

At this point , I wished I hadn't turned down his offer of taking me out on a date. As I strolled down to a seat out arena I thought of the best way to find him.

My head was blank, my mind progressing through a million and one places he could be in this school.

Damn! I fucked up! and I needed to fix that as soon as possible. As I thought of possible ways to find him, I silently prayed he wouldn't turn my offer down just like I had done to him yesterday.

I'm still lost when I felt a hand brush through my shoulders, and I also jerked up from the strange touch.

“Hey girl, what's up.” I heard Vanessa's voice and calmed down immediately.

“You scared me.” I mumbled.

“Sorry, are you good?” She asked.

“Yh, I'm totally fine, how's classes going?” I questioned.

“Done for now, would be returning back soon”

There was a short silence between the both of us for a while before I decided to ask her a few questions.

“Do you happen to know about any guy named Finn?” I asked not exactly expecting a positive reply from her.

“Of course! everybody knows about Finn. He is the most popular footballer and also the basketball teams leader in school.” she explained but soon paused as though she was being controlled.

“Wait a minute…are you guys hanging out?” She asked, I was going to respond but she didn't even give me a chance to speak.

“Alicia seriously? nehind my back?” She frowned and I couldn't help but rolled my eyes

“Nope, we aren't hanging out. At least for now.” I said.

“So…” she tried to play with my head but I just laughed about it.

“Do you anywhere I might be able to find him?” I asked.

“Yh, why?” She creased her brows and folded her arms like a typical mum would do.

“Nothing serious, but I've got something important I want to tell him.” I said in a bid to dismiss the question.

She seemed as though I was acting a bit unlike myself, but regardless of that, she told me two possible places I could find them.

“You would either find him at the Sport arena or his classroom, most of the times he's away in the sport arena.” she narrated and I thanked her so much for the information before excusing myself to go and look for Finn.

At first I go to the sport arena but the coach incharge said they hadn't seen him today which meant it was either he was in his classroom or he ditches school today.

I slightly prayed he had come to school today otherwise my plans for today would be ruined!

When I got to his class, he wasn't there either, but one of this classmate has assued me that he was in school so I took a seat waiting for him to come back.

…..

I had been waiting for a really long time and already giving up and was about returning to my class when I bumped into someone on my way out!

“Finn.” I winced, growling in pain as I had knocked my head against his.

“Alicia?”

“Finally! Where have you been? I've been waiting for you, I yawned lazily.”

I knew he was surprised to see me, and he immediately took my hand I walked out of the classroom

“Alicia, What brings you.” He said, I knew he wasn't exactly happy to see me after all I turned him down.

“Firstly, I came to apologise for yesterday, I'm really sorry about that.” I started. ‘And also I need a favour from you.”

“What favour?” he asks.

I took a deep breath, a really long one. My throat felt dry but regardless, I proceeded to push the words out.

“Finn, could you play the role of my mate/ boyfri
end? I would love for us to attend the charity ball together tonight.” I blurted

As I spilled everything out, I saw his eyes widened, a mix of confusion and surprise.

“Wait, What?!”
