CHAPTER 16

The video evidence was presented by Claudia and I chuckled while watching it.

“That's not me.” I huffed. Deep down I was relieved because I didn't want the entire school knowing I was entangled with the brothers.

“Liar, you stupid thing!” She screamed.

I clenched my fist, jerking off my seat and leaned closer to her.

“I said I wasn't the one in the video. It was a party Adrian could have made out with just anyone he wants except you of course.”

I watched her expression change on hearing those last words I had dropped, I knew it was going to piss her off so badly but I didn't care.

“How dare you!” She yelled.

“Please…” I shut her off and walked away, leaving her boiling with so much rage and anger.

I sighed, relieved and then deciding to take a walk, this time not to the restroom. Maybe the library I thought to myself as I strolled towards the library.

There was total silence as I slowly walked towards one of the shelf filled with different book and decided to read one of them that had caught my attention.

“I never knew you were a fan of books.” A familiar voice called out and scan around to see a familiar yet strange guy leaning on the shelf.

“Pardon?”

“I’m Finn the dude you met the other day in class.” He said, exhaling and running his head through his hair.

“Ohh..” I hummed. Seemingly uninterested.

“And you…are?” He asked and I looked up to him, he looked somewhat shy and nervous.

“Alicia.” I say, flipping through the pages of the book.

“Are you free….” He hadn't even finished speaking what I cut through his words “shh…” I signalled for him to follow me which he did and we walked out of the library.

“What were you saying?” I asked him.

“I was wondering if you could, uhmm maybe go on a date with me.” He offered.

I almost laughed out loud, someone was asking me to go on a date with him when there was obviously a scandal about me and the triplets all over the school board.

“Sorry I can't.” I answered, in a haste to go back into the library and continue my digging for books.

“I know you refused because of the triplets.” He mentioned and I was surprised he knew that and still went ahead to ask me on a date.

“Great, glad you know.” I snapped, heading back into the library but he followed my every move.

“You said they were just your step brothers.” He mentioned.

“So?” I retorted.

“I do know they are more than that to you.” he remarked and I felt my throat dry up. I could barely make a sound yet I still had to act as though everything was okay.

“What do you mean by that?” I asked.

“No offense but I know they are more than step siblings to you.” He scoffed.

“So what do you…” I started but he cut me through almost immediately.

“Mates…”

A chill crept up my spine and my stomach twisted into knots…

“I don't know what you are saying.” I tried to dismiss the topic as beads of sweat slide down my temple.

“I heard it from them, so there's no reason to deny it.” He added and I felt my mouth dry up again, word stock in my throat.

“They told you?” I asked.

“Nope, just passing by and overheard them whispering about it.” He answered.

“So if you know all that, why are you still asking me out then?” I asked, confused because logically, it's only right to back off from someone's mate, especially when he knew what the triplets were capable of doing if they found out.

“I just wanted us to be friends.. it's a harmless request.” he smiled, making cute faces at me.

“No.” I refused bluntly. Yes I knew he could decide to spread the news that the triplets were my mate or threaten to do that but I don't care. If he knew the secret then good for him and if he chooses to expose it, that's still not my problem. How bad could it be?

“Can we at least talk, some other time?... Please?” He asked and I raised my brows, walked really close to him and whispered into this ears..”No.” Before exiting the library.

I returned back to my class, about 30 minute's before the next class started. Another general class! I rolled my eyes and got to my usual spot but as I wanted to seat down, Claudia showed her face and pushed me from behind.

“That's my seat for together loser.” She minced.

“Everyone knows I've been seating here from the first day I started attending general classes.” I explained.

“Well who cares about your petty talks?” She mocked and I exhaled sharply. Actually I should even be caught talking with this psychopath. She could have the sit for all I care!

I settled for the seat behind hers while she still stood, blocking my sight and chatting with her friends.

She finally settled sit but the chair cracked that instance, scattering into piece and everyone gasped as she crashes onto the ground.

I couldn't believe what had just happened, neither did I even stand to help her up.

What shocked and bothered me was the fact that whomever had done this, knew that stop was my favourite spot.

I had this strong feelings that seat had been rigged. Who would want to intentional hurt me? I watched as people gathered around to help Claudia who had been injured badly due to the thud fall.

For a moment, I thanked my stars I had swapped seat with her. If an alpha female could crash on the floor that way and still get bruised. What would have been my fate?

“You!” Claudia called out to me..

“I know you didn't this intentionally, you are so heartless.” She spat, sobbing on the floor. For once in my life I felt pity for her though she looked much prettier kissing the floor.

ANONYMOUS POV

The task was an easy one, get into the classroom, locate the seat number 326 and rig it. The job had to be done perfectly well and you shouldn't be caught while doing that.

I had been hired and paid a reasonable some of money just to destroy a mere seat and somehow manage to make it noticeable that the chair was bad with the aim of whomever that tried to sit on that chair would crash on the floor and have a head injury.

Anyways, the rest of the information was none of my business. I just needed the money to settle my tuition fees so when he offered to help in exchange of this, I gladly took the offer.

Sneaking into the classroom when all the students were away and with my saw, I rigged the chair just as I had been instructed and the second I was done with that, I ran away.. as fast as I could.

While their classes were about to begin, I saw two girls arguing about the same seat. If only they knew behind that chair lies a head injury.

I knew one of them was Claudia due to her popularity in school and when I saw she won the argument and wanted to settle on the chair I panicked! “Shit!” Wrong move and that was before she crashes on the tiled floor.

I sighed, frustrated but soon replaced it with a smile as I had finally gotten to see the face of the prey. The other girl… she was the rightful owner of the position not
Claudia.

“Don't worry, soon enough you would be old news.” I smirked, my eyes steadily watching her every move.
