Chapter 37
Kane's Point of View

I was so shocked when Rose asked me if I was a werewolf. I thought she would freak out when I told her the truth, but she didn't. When I showed her my wolf, she didn't freak out like I thought she would. I was so happy she wasn't afraid. When we got back to our room, I told her we were mates. I understood why she was upset that I didn't wait for her. She was right. I knew about mates my entire life, but I chose not to wait for her. Before I met her, I didn't care about finding my mate, and I knew that hurt her.

I was shocked when I was able to feel her wolf. I could tell it was powerful. When we got outside and she screamed in pain. I knew she was changing so I took her to the woods. I was shocked when she shifted into a beautiful red wolf. Her eyes were still their beautiful Green.

"Oh Goddess. You are beautiful Lina," Kelly said.

"Yes, you are," I replied. Rose just stood there in her wolf form, staring at us. I could feel the bond stronger than ever now that she had finally shifted. Suddenly she shifted back into her human form. I was shocked to see that her clothes were still on. Suddenly she started to fall to the ground and I quickly walked over to her and caught her before she could hit the ground.

"Rose," I said as I picked her up bridal style and headed for the pack hospital. I mind linked Dr. Sally and let her know that we were on our way. When I arrived Dr. Sally was already waiting for me at the front desk. She took us to the Alpha suite at the hospital and started checking on Rose.

"What happened?" Dr. Sally asked as she looked over Rose

"We had an argument and she just started to shift. She shifted into a red wolf. When she shifted back her clothes were still on her body and then she passed out," I said

"This is strange. She has always smelled like a human. Now she smells like a wolf. Something doesn't seem right. I am going to run some labs to figure out what's going on," Dr. Sally said

"Okay," I replied. Dr. Sally took some of Rose's blood and left, leaving Kelly and me with an unconscious Rose

"You know the only werewolves that shift and still have their clothes on are our royals?" Kelly said once we were alone

"I know, but how could that be possible?" I asked. I kept wondering how any of this was possible. Kelly was right when she said only royals shifted and kept their clothes. Could Rose be a royal? Also, I had never heard of a red wolf. There were mostly brown and black werewolves. There were some white wolves but they were rare. White wolves were from the royal family, but there had never been a red wolf.

"I need to talk to Dad about this. None of this is making any sense. If she is a royal, then that means her mom must have slept with a royal werewolf," I said. I had so many questions. Since Rose was a werewolf, her mom must have slept with a werewolf. Now I wondered if her mom was a werewolf and used magic to mask it. One thing was for certain. I will be calling my dad as soon as possible. I already didn't like Tina. I could tell she didn't have a good relationship with Rose, and she didn't seem like a good person. I was starting to worry about my dad. Could she be up to something? For a moment I wondered if Rose might be working with her mom, but that thought quickly left my mind. I knew Rose was not that kind of person. She was way too caring and nothing like her mom.

I could also tell she was shocked when she started shifting. I could feel it through our bond that she was afraid. So, I was sure she had no idea she was a werewolf. About an hour later, Rose was still unconscious, and I was worried. The door opened and Dr. Sally walked inside

"I know why we couldn't smell her wolf. The blood test shows that she has traces of wolfsroot in her system," Dr Sally said

"What?" I asked, shocked. Wolfsroot was an herb that was deadly to werewolves. It could kill a person's wolf.

"How is that possible? Why would she take that?" Kelly asked

"She probably didn't know she was taking it. I believe someone had been giving it to her. Most likely her mother. But her mom isn''t here now and that is probably why she shifted. She mustn't have been taking it since she left" I said.

"When she wakes up we need to ask her. She should wake up soon," Dr. Sally said and then Rose started to move.

"Rose," I said as she looked at me

"What happened?"
