Chapter 36

Rosalina's Point of View

"I am your fated mate, right?" I asked

"Yes, you are," Kane replied. I already knew I was, even before I asked the question. That was the reason I felt happy and relaxed around him. That was the reason I felt sparks when he touched me. That was why I missed him so much when he was gone. So much stuff made sense now. The reason I felt the way I did when I was around him was because we were mates.

Then, suddenly I felt a pain in my heart.

"What's wrong?" Kane asked

"You were with so many females in the past. Why? You knew you would have a mate but you chose to sleep around," I said. A frown made it's way to Kane's face when he heard my question.

"Rose, I..." Kane started but then became quiet.

"I know why. I told you I have read a lot of werewolf novels. You did it because you didn't want a mate, right? You don't care about the mate bond," I said. I had read enough werewolf novels to know that when a werewolf messes around before they find their mate, it is either because they don't want a mate or don't care how their mate will feel if they don't wait for them.

"Rose, I..."

"You what?" I asked

"I am not going to lie to you. I didn't want a mate because I saw how sad my dad was when he lost my mom. I know he is still hurting to this day. I thought that if I had a mate, I would become weak."

"That might be part of it, but you also didn''t want a mate because you didn''t want to be with one person," I said

"Okay, I admit I liked that I could do whatever I wanted with whoever I wanted but since finding you I've changed. I have realized how dumb I was being not wanting to find my fated mate. How dumb I was to think I could choose a mate instead of waiting for you."

"Wait. you were planning on choosing a mate?" I asked and Kane stayed silent. I didn't know why but I felt hurt by what Kane was saying. My headache was beginning to get worse just listening to him. I started walking toward the elevators so that I could leave but Kane stopped me.

"Hey, where are you going?" Kane asked

"I need to get some air," I replied

"Can we just talk about this. I can tell you are upset," Kane said.

"What is there to talk about, Kane? The fact that you didn't care enough for me not to mess around with so many females. Don't think I haven't heard about how much of a playboy you are. Have you ever thought about how that would make me feel? You've known you would get a mate since you were little but you didn't care," I said. I was heated. All could think about were the ways I could kill all the bitches he had slept with. I was breathing hard from anger and I wanted to leave.

"Rose, are you alright? Your eyes," Kane started to say, but I cut him off

"Leave me alone. I don't want to talk to you right now," I said and I pushed him so hard he moved to the side.

"Rose," Calm down," Kane said as I pressed the button to the elevator. it opened automatically and I got in. Kane did the same. I pressed the button for the main floor.

"Rose, you need to calm down."

"Calm down. that's easy for you to say," replied. When the elevator door opened and I quickly walked toward the entrance. Everyone I passed was staring at me as I walked by.

"Rose," Kane kept calling but I ignored him.

"Rose," Kane said as he grabbed my arm.

"Get off of me," I screamed and Kane looked at me with a worried look on his face.

"Rose, you need to calm down," Kane said. Suddenly, an excruciating pain came to my head causing me to groan and put my hands on my head.

"Rose"

"What's going on?" I heard Kelly ask.

"My head hurts," I said

"I think she is about to shift," I heard Kane. His words shocked me. "Rose, I know you are in a lot of pain right now but you need to calm down. You are about to shift for the first time but I will help you," Kane said and he placed his hand on my cheek

"Shift! You mean into a wolf? That is impossible," I said. There was no way that was happening. I was a human. Not a werewolf.

"This might be hard to believe but it is happening. I can sense your wolf. You eyes have turned black. I know you are in pain. That is because you are about to shift," Kane said and I started to become scared.

"Ahhh," I cried as pain went through my body.

"It's okay, Flower. you will be okay. I am here," Kane said and he picked me up and carried me into the woods. Kelly walked beside us. He sat on the grass with me in his arms.

"Kane I am scared," I said

"You have nothing to be afraid of, Flower. Just breath and don't fight it," Kane said

"Ahhh," I screamed and then I heard a growl. Suddenly, the pain was gone. I looked at Kane and Kelly to see they were looking at me with shocked expressions on their faces.

"Oh, my Goddess, she's," Kelly started to say but Kane finished her statement for her with a smile

"She's a royal."
