Chapter 35
Rosalina's Point of View

Kane and I walked hand in hand out of the packhouse. He started walking toward the woods and I stopped. "Where are we going?" I asked

"Do you trust me?" Kane asked and I looked into his eyes. I did trust him. I knew he would never hurt me.

"Yes," I said and then we walked. It was so dark that I could barely see anything as we walked through the trees. A few moments later we were in an open filled of just grass. I looked up at the sky which was clear. You could see the moon and stars. "Why did you bring me here?" I asked

"You wanted proof, right?" Kane asked

"Yes," I replied

"Well, this is the best proof I can give you. Seeing is believing," Kane said and then he took his shirt off. I couldn't help but to look at his masculine chest and instinctively licked my lips as I stared.

"Hey, you have to stay focused," Kane said, and I could feel my cheeks redden as I saw he was looking at me with a smirk on his face. He had caught me checking him out.

"Don't panic," Kane said

"I won't," I replied. I sighed a moment later when a giant black wolf was standing in the place where Kane had just been.

"What the??? I was right," I said. Kane's wolf lay on the grass as if telling me he wouldn't harm me. I didn''t need him to do that. It might sound crazy, but I wasn't scared of him. To show him I was not afraid, I walked over to him slowly.

"You are so beautiful. Can I pet you," I asked as I lifted my hand. I didn't make a move until I was sure I wouldn't offend him. His wolf moved closer to me and his nose touched my hand that was still up. That let me know he was okay with me touching his fur. My hands went through his fur and I looked into his ocean blue eyes.

"You are so beautiful, or handsome," I said. I sat next to Kane's wolf and he put his head in my lap. I knew he wanted me to pet him and that was what I did. I might have looked funny to someone looking in. His wolf was way bigger than me so I could only imagine what it looked like for him to have his head on my lap. My stomach started to growl and his wolf looked at me. "Sorry I guess I am kind of hungry. We never ate dinner," I said and his wolf got up and went behind a tree. I was sure he was shifting back. After a moment Kane appeared in his human form, wearing only a pair of shorts. They weren't' the same as the ones he had on earlier, which let me know his must have torn when he shifted. That was why he took his shirt off.

"Are you okay?" Kane asked me. I was sure he was worried that I might freak out after seeing him turn into a wolf. I walked over to him and hugged him tightly

"Yes, I am fine. Your wolf is amazing," I said and he smiled at me.

"Come on. Let's go inside and eat. We can talk while we eat. I am sure you have a lot of questions," Kane said

"Yes, I do," I replied and we walked back into the packhouse. When we got back to the room Kelly was already there eating pizza.

"I mind linked Kelly to come and wait for the pizza," Kane said

"Hey, how did it go? I guess it must have went well since Lina came back with you and she doesn't seem scared" Kelly asked

"Yeah, it went great," Kane replied.

"I am sorry for not telling you earlier, Lina. I wanted to but I knew Kane should be the one to tell you," Kelly said. I could tell she was worried I was upset.

"It's okay, Kelly. I understand. So. you are a werewolf too?" I asked

"Yes, I am," Kelly replied

"Can I see your wolf? How big is she?" I asked excitedly. I was ready to go back to the woods and see what her wolf looked like. Kane just chuckled

"Okay, that's enough excitement for tonight. You can see Kelly's wolf some other time. Right now you need to eat," Kane said

"Fine," I replied

"I will give you two some space. I will see you tomorrow, Lina," Kelly said.

"Okay, see ya," I replied.

Bye, sis," Kane said, and Kelly left. Kane and I sat at the dining room table and ate in silence for a while.

"I can tell you have so much on your mind. You can ask me anything," Kane said

"Were you born a werewolf?" I asked

"Yes, as you know, Dad is the alpha, and my mom was a werewolf as well. She was the luna," Kane said

"That means your dad is in charge, right?" I asked

"Yes, he is for now but once he returns, he plans on passing the alpha title down to me," Kane replied

"Oh," I replied

"Most of the time, once a werewolf finds their mate, they become alpha," Kane said. I thought about what he was saying and that was when realization hit me.

"I heard about mates in the books. That is soulmate, right?" I asked

"Yes, it is. The Moon Goddess chooses everyone's mate. It is supposed to be the other half of your soul. The one person who was meant to be with you. Mates are perfect for each other," Kane said

"They feel sparks when they touch, right?" I asked

"Yes, no one else can make someone feel like their fated mate. Some take chosen mates but they won't feel the same as a fated one," Kane said

"I am your fated mate, right?" I asked

"Yes, you are."
