chapter 34
Rosalina's Point of View
I could feel everyone staring as Kane and I passed by. When I got to the elevator, I pressed the button for Kane's floor and waited. When the elevator opened, we both got inside.
"Rose, Rose," Kane said, but I ignored him. When the elevator door opened again, I quickly got off and started walking toward the steps.
"Rose, stop," Kane said as he stepped in front of me.
"Let me pass," I said with my arms crossed.
"Don't be mad at me, Flower. I am just trying to look after you. You almost drowned last night, and then I took you out to the amusement park and now you have a headache. I feel like I am to blame. I should have kept you here to rest," Kane said. I could tell he was worried and felt like it was his fault that I had a headache. I didn't like seeing him sad.
"Kane, it isn't your fault that I have a headache, and the headache isn't that bad," I said.
"I feel I am to blame. I shouldn't have taken you out," Kane said
"Yes, you should have. I had so much fun, way more fun than I have ever had in my life," I replied
"I am happy to hear that, but since you have a headache, how about you go and relax while I order us some dinner?" Kane said
"Okay, I do want to take a shower," I said
"Okay, go ahead and get ready," Kane said, and I did as he said. I went to the room where I had stayed the night before. After my shower, I thought about my diabetes pills and how I hadn't taken them since my mom has been away. "Maybe I should take one now," I thought.
"No, don't take those. You have been feeling better than ever since you stopped," I suddenly thought. It was true. I had been feeling more energetic. I hadn't been feeling weak at all. That was weird because I should be feeling worse since I am not taking my medication but instead I felt healthier. "Maybe I have outgrown it and don't need the pills anymore," I thought. I should make an appointment with Dr. Sally.
When I came back downstairs, Kane was sitting in the living room looking at his phone. As soon as I walked inside, he looked at me with a smile on his face.
"Hey," I said
"Hey," Kane replied as he looked me up and down. I could tell he was checking me out, and that made my cheeks redden. I had on a long t shirt and some shorts.
"Come sit next to me. The food is on the way. I ordered pizza," Kane said, and I did as he said and sat next to him on the couch.
"You want to watch a movie while we wait for the pizza?" Kane asked
"Actually, I wanted to talk to you about something," I said
"Okay," Kane said as he looked at me
"But I want you to promise me that you will tell me the truth. Please don't lie to me," I said
"Okay, I won't lie to you," Kane replied.
"I have been thinking a lot about what I am going to ask you. Since I have been here there has been a lot of weird things happening. Like, how Ashley keeps calling me a weak human and everyone is always starting at me when I pass them by. Not only that, but you live in a big house with a lot of other people. I think I know why," I said and I could tell Kane was getting nervous by his facial expression. "This may sound crazy but I am sure there is no other reason for all of this. I am just going to come out and say it. I think you are a werewolf," I said and Kane stayed silent
"Look, I know it sounds crazy but I am sure I am right. Please just bre honest with me. Are you a werewolf?" I asked
"Yes," Kane said and I looked at him with a shocked expression
"You are not playing with me, are you? Are you trying to play a prank on me so that I look crazy?" I asked
"No, of course not. You asked me to be truthful with you and I am. You asked if I was a werewolf and I told you the truth. Yes, I am a werewolf," Kane said
"This is crazy. It is impossible," I said as I stood from the couch. Suddenly, I was panicking.
"Hey, Calm down, Flower. I won't hurt you," Kane said as he wrapped his arms around me and pulled my body to his. I instantly became relaxed. The pleasurable sparks were going through my body and I could breath better. Kane sat down with me on his lap. I was so shocked at his answer that I just sat there, loving the feeling his touch brought to me.
"You are right, Rose. I am a werewolf. Mostly everyone in the packhouse is a werewolf. But no one will ever hurt you," Kane said
"Packhouse, just like in the stories," I said
"Yes," Kane replied and I nodded.
"So, I was right you are a werewolf. Does my mom know?" I asked
"No, dad hasn't told her yet. He plans on telling her before they come back from their honeymoon," Kane said
"He is the Alpha, right?" I asked and Kane looked at me with a shocked expression on his face
"You know a lot about werewolves. Are you sure you have never seen one before?" Kane asked
"I am sure. I just read a lot of supernatural stories. I never thought they could be real. To be honest, I am still a little worried that you are lying to me," I said
"Do you want me to prove I am not lying?" Kane asked, and I nodded
"Okay, go change clothes," Kane said as he got up off the couch.
"Why?" I asked
"You want me to prove to you that I am a werewolf. There is only one way to do that."
