Chapter 13 Intuition
Rever
On the outside, the air around me was cold,my expression was indifferent, but on the inside,my blood was boiling with fury. The one lady I had taken a liking to had almost died in these men's hands.
I badly wanted to tear them apart bit by bit, into chunks until there was nothing left, but I feared for the weakling standing behind my back. She wouldn't be able to stand the sight of it. Forcing her to watch was the same thing as killing her completely.
"Lestrange" Sharon gasped in shock which got my attention.
It clearly meant she knew him, but she wasn't in the right state to answer my questions. I assumed I had to get the answers myself.
I chuckled amusingly in my head studying the man who stepped foot out of that carriage. There was a high probability that he was in the same age bracket as Sharon.
His brows furrowed as he stared at the battered corpses on the ground. Few seconds passed before our eyes locked.
"Did you do this?" He questioned with a sharp voice that made me smirk.
"What do you think?" I snorted.
"Young Lord Drago, he murdered our men in cold blood" said the old man with trembling voice.
Drago. Drago. Drago.
No matter how hard I tried to recall the name, it just didn't click. The reason was straightforward - I hadn't heard of such name before.
"I didn't ask you" Lestrange barked at the old man who cowered in fear.
He reverted his gaze to me and smirked.
"What do you have to say for yourself?" He berated.
"Nothing. I killed your men because they attacked me first" I said in my defense.
"I was only trying to defend myself" I added.
"But you damaged my carriage" He retorted.
"What do you have to say about that?" He added.
"The damages are a result of your rider's negligence. You should scold him for it" I replied with a frosty voice.
The young man cleared his throat and moved from his spot, walking in circles around me.
"You do realize your actions have made you an enemy of the Drago, right?" He asked.
"Just one word from me and every wolf guards in my family will converge here, and you'll be done for" He threatened.
I snickered and folded my arms.
"A thousand wolves won't move me" I declared.
"Besides,I haven't heard anything about the name Drago before. From where exactly?" I added.
Lestrange seemed annoyed by my words from the slight change in expression on his face.
"Don't mess with my family. I won't be the only one to deal with you. Fania Halfad-Samaf won't hesitate to join hands with me" He stated.
"The same woman I just had a business deal with?" I questioned, recalling how shameless she and her daughter had behaved.
"She wouldn't dare to lift a finger, knowing who I am" I bragged.
Lestrange halted his steps and gazed piercingly at me.
"Who are you?" He queried.
I laughed wickedly and gave a mock bow.
"Mikel Franson....."
"Wait. Who's this lady hiding behind your back?" He asked, cutting me off.
He had just noticed? Great.
"She's none of your business" I replied curtly.
Gradually, his eyes widened in disbelief as he took a step forward to get a clearer view of Sharon's face. The poor lady kept trying to hide her face, but it was all for nothing. Lestrange already recognized her.
"It's you,Sharon. You good-for-nothing little thing" He laughed and looked at me.
"Did you kidnap her or what? She's my woman's slave. You can't take her" He proclaimed.
As bad as I wanted to defend Sharon, I needed to maintain my facade.
"I bought her from them. She's my slave now" I revealed.
"What?!" He spat.
"When did that happen? Fania would never sell her daughter" He added.
Good. At least someone has common sense to understand how wrong it was to sell off your own blood. Well, I had to go along with the flow.
"What daughter? She was their slave and now, she's mine" I argued.
"Impossible! You clearly kidnapped her" Lestrange shot back accusingly.
"She's a useful tool to Vienna,so I'm taking her back" He added with a tone of conviction.
I shook my head in pity. If only he was there to see how the woman he loved presented herself cheaply to me.
"You can't have her. I payed one hundred golden seals to buy this slave" I fired back.
"She's now mine" I stated.
Lestrange flew up in rage and snapped his fingers.
"All of you attack at once" He ordered.
I wanted to end everything, so I handed my cloak and clothes over to Sharon.
"Keep this for me and stay very close to me. You'll be safe" I assured her.
I didn't bother waiting for a reply and shifted into my wolf form. I let out a loud howl, causing the birds hiding in the trees to fly away.
"Who are you?!" Lestrange exclaimed as he stepped back in fear.
Yes. As an alpha and a powerful one, my wolf was huge and terrifying.
"Kill him. Tear him apart!" He yelled.
All the men shifted into the forms, and I couldn't help but admit that there's were strong ones among them. I was certain I wasn't coming out of this without an injury.
At once, the wolves came at me. It felt like time had frozen as I unleashed the earth shattering might the moon goddess had blessed me with. Claws clashed and fangs were destroyed. I dealt with the little ones first, and at the same, protecting Sharon from them.
Soon, I was left with the big wolves. I bared my bloody fangs at the first one that attacked. I took him down only to set my eyes upon something more dangerous.
Sharon was about to be murdered before my very eyes. The claws were just an inch away from her collar bone.
The injuries I sustained had caused my speed to reduce drastically. I ran as fast as I can and managed to push Sharon away, only for me to feel a sharp pain in my back.
The pain was unbearable. I gradually shifted to my human form and laid on the floor, gasping for breath. Suddenly, I felt a something warm wrap around me. It was my cloak.
I looked up to see Sharon with tears in her eyes.
"Why did you save me?" She cried out.
"Even if I die, you have nothing to lose. Why did you have to get injured for me?" She added, sobbing endlessly.
"The Alpha would murder him if I went back to him with your corpse" I replied.
"Losing my life is way much preferable than incurring the wrath of my alpha" I added.
