Chapter 14 Unstoppable

With great resolve,I dragged my feet towards the semiconscious man lying on the cold ground. It wasn't easy but I managed to not throw up. Getting to him, I spread the cloak he had given me earlier on his battered body and squatted before him with tear filled eyes.
Why did you save me?" I cried out.
"Even if I die, you have nothing to lose. Why did you have to get injured for me?" I added, sobbing endlessly.
"The Alpha would murder him if I went back to him with your corpse" He replied, coughing out blood.
"Losing my life is way much preferable than incurring the wrath of my alpha" He added.
I pouted in shock, my mind swirling with different assumptions of how ruthless the Alpha was, leaving his man to die in place of an ordinary slave.
"You're joking,right?" I laughed wearily.
"What value does my life have that can be compared to yours?" I questioned.
He sighed deeply and struggled to sit up. I was worried at first, but he seemed comfortable in that position.
"Where's that Drago boy?" He asked.
I shrugged. "I don't know. He just disappeared."
"Bad mistake. His going to suffer the consequences of his actions" Mikel declared as he held his chest in pain.
"Are you okay? What do we do about your injury?" I asked.
"I know some herbs that can help you heal" I added.
"There's no need" He shook his head disapprovingly.
"I heal fast. I'll be back on my feet by tomorrow morning" He added.
Hearing his words, I glanced at the sky for confirmation. Indeed, the sun had already set.
"You should sleep in the carriage and let me recover here on my own" He continued.
I was hell bent on helping him,so I totally ignored his words and stood on my feet.
"Wait here for me. I'll be back before you know it" I stated.
"Sharon!!" He yelled continuously but I refused to halt.
Luckily for him, we had stopped in a place surrounded with different species of plants. I looked round, searching for the ones I could recognize. Thankfully, I found them.
I ran back to where I had left him, only for me to see he had fallen asleep.
"Good gracious" I exclaimed, a bit relieved knowing I could do what I wanted without having to drain my energy trying to convince him.
With great caution, I tapped his shoulders to be sure he far away in the other dimension. He didn't budge.
"Hmm... Must have used up all your strength" I muttered.
I found two smooth stones and smoothened the leaves before using it to patch the injury on his back. By the time I was done, I was completely exhausted.
My eyelids were tired,so I gave in to the darkness pulling me into slumber.
Vienna
"Mother, why do you think Mikel is interested in Sharon?" I asked, frowning.
"She's not even worthy enough to see the alpha" I added.
My mother exhaled heavily, dropping the crochet pin she held on the table. I knew I had consistently pestered her ever since Sharon was sold off. I clearly didn't care about her opinion. All I wanted was to get my answers.
"Vi, you shouldn't let these things bother you" said my mother as she grabbed my right hand and massaged it.
"Sharon will be dead even before she sets her eyes on the Alpha" She added.
I was fed up with hearing the same words over and over again. It was clear she wasn't getting my point. I stood up abruptly and banged the table.
"Mother, don't you get it?" I snapped.
"Get what exactly? She's just a slave" My mother replied with a cautious gaze.
"That's exactly my point" I yelled.
"Why should she be allowed to see the Alpha when we haven't even sniffed his scent?" I scowled.
My mother didn't respond for a while. It seems she was beginning to get my point.
"We should be the one the alpha wants to see. Not her" I continued.
Gradually, a mischievous smile curved on my mother's lips as she eyed me suspiciously.
"Are you angry because of Mikel? He was asked to deliver a message,you know?" She questioned.
I looked away and scoffed with much certain in my heart that my face was burning hot and red.
"It's not what you think" I muttered, my voice barely audible.
"You must have hit your head on something to think that I,your mother, won't know how your thinking works" my mother snorted in laughter.
"I know you like him, but what about Lestrange?" She asked with keen interest.
"Lestrange is only in my counting breau for the mean time. I haven't decided whether to marry him or not" I replied with conviction.
"I have the right to choose who I want to marry" I added.
My mother's scrutinizing gaze lingered on me for moment before she sighed.
"So, what exactly do you want?" She inquired.
"Go straight to the point" She added.
"Mother,I want you to get me acquainted with Mikel" I said.
"He's a handsome young man,and I like him better" I added.
"How's that going to be possible and who told you he isn't married?" My mother asked with a smirk on her face.
She was clearly enjoying herself. The second question had popped up in my mind earlier, but I had brushed it off, not wanting to believe he was married.
"I don't think he is" I replied.
"Besides, we have the family influence to get us an hour or two in the Alpha's court. We can also ask the Drago family to help us. They won't know our real agenda as usual" I suggested.
"You're pure evil, Vi" my mother clicked bed tongue.
I snorted in laughter. "I learnt from the best. So,do we have a deal or not?"
"Not to fast,my daughter" my mother cautioned.
"I heard Lestrange had travelled for sightseeing. Is that true?" She asked.
I shrugged. "Yes,I heard....."
A light tap on the door interrupted our conversation. Pondering on who it was and hoping it was Mikel returning Sharon and taking me instead, I headed for the door. I knew my thoughts were just an illusion,but I wished it could be true.
The moment I opened the door,I was stunned by the face I sighted.
"Lestrange" I called with a scowl, displeased with his presence.
"What are you doing here?" I asked.
