Chapter 22 Chapter 8.1
Desmond called me again to make his coffee. It seems he already favors the coffee I make for him. I told him not to bother me. I was about to enter his office when I saw my female co-workers. I just swallowed hard. I felt like they were watching my every move.
"Why are you taking so long?" I looked at Desmond when he came out of the door. My eyes widened when he grabbed my hand and then let me into his office. "I ordered you to make coffee a while ago, are you flirting? Why are you taking so long?" he asked annoyedly. I gave him his coffee.
"I told you to order someone else to make coffee, right?! Why do you always order me?!" I shouted at him. He frowned because I was angry again.
"Why are you angry? Shouldn't it be me because you're taking so long?!" he also shouted in front of me. His saliva even splattered on my face, so I wiped it off.
"Disgusting,"
"What? Disgusting?" he said in disbelief.
"Don't call me to your office again, okay?! Don't you ever touch me either!" I shouted at him again, so he stepped back.
"What's your problem?! I've been noticing that you've been shouting at me!" he also shouted at me. I glared at him. I've been noticing that I'm becoming irritable. I don't care who the person in front of me is. I'm too frank. I want to stop it, but it comes out of my mouth on its own. Is this still because of my pregnancy?
I took a deep breath to calm myself.
"I'm sure you know that many of your employees like you. My life at work is quiet, Mr. Velasquez. I don't want my life to be chaotic just because they think I like you and I'm flirting with you." I explained and then turned my back, but I faced him again. "If you order me to make coffee for you one more time, I'll really put poison in it," I threatened and then completely left his office.
"Why did you take so long to come out of Sir Desmond's office?" Jean immediately asked me.
"Is it also your dream to enter Sir Desmond's office? Do you want to enter there so you can see him?" I asked her. She raised her eyebrow.
"How?" she asked curiously.
"If you want to know what happens to me every time I enter Sir Desmond's office, I'll order you to make his coffee. Whatever you hear from Sir Desmond, that's what I hear every day. If you're weak-hearted, don't continue," I answered.
"I'll do it, just call me," she said, so I nodded at her. Let's see if you don't cry when you hear his anger. I'm sure they know Desmond's attitude. If she cries, it's not my fault. I didn't force her to enter that tiger's office.
When Desmond messaged me, I called Jean to make the coffee. She was still excited because she would be able to enter Desmond's office and have him all to herself. Many of our co-workers were jealous of her. I continued what I was doing while my co-workers were talking. They were waiting for Jean to come out.
After a few minutes, Jean came back. She was looking down, so her friend approach her.
"What happened?" her friend asked her. Jean couldn't stop herself from sobbing. They all became silent.
"Heaven!" Desmond called me angrily. My co-workers went back to their jobs. I remained seated. When Desmond saw me, he immediately approached me.
"Did you order that woman to enter my office?" he asked. I couldn't answer. How do I explain it to him? "I know you wouldn't do that unless they asked you to," he said and then looked at my co-workers. They were all looking down. No one wanted to speak.
"Remember this, no one can enter my office, do you understand?!" Desmond shouted authoritatively.
"Yes sir!" they all answered at the same time. What did he say to Jean to make her cry?
"And you, Heaven, you have no right to let anyone inside my office, do you understand? If someone is bothering you because I often call you, tell me so I can have them removed from the company," he said seriously and then left. We were all silent, even our supervisor. I could clearly hear Jean sobbing even though she was in the other cubicle.
I suddenly felt guilty because I let Jean enter Desmond's office. I knew he would be angry, but I still ordered her. I guess they won't bother me anymore because they know what will happen. I just want my every day at work to be quiet and peaceful. I just sighed. I couldn't help but feel sorry for Jean because she could hardly breathe from crying so much.
In the past few days, Desmond hasn't come home. I know where he is, he's with Macie because she's still in the country. I can't help but wonder, how can Macie bear to see the person she loves living with someone in the same house? Why doesn't she just marry Desmond so they can be together? When Desmond gives me the divorce paper, I'll sign it right away.
I don't want to claim the man who already belongs to another woman. I only have one condition when we separate, I'll take care of our child.
When I entered the company, I saw Jean. She was about to avoid me, but I called her.
“I'm sorry for what happened the other day. I shouldn't have let you enter Sir Desmond's office.” I apologized to her. She smiled at me sparingly.
“It's my fault, you're right. If I'm weak-hearted, I shouldn't have gone. Is that what you always hear when you enter his office?” she asked curiously. I nodded because he always shouts at me.
“You’ve got some nerve to not be shaken by every shout of his.” she said and then left. I'm able to fight back and answer Desmond because he's afraid of his parents. He also can't hurt me because I'm his wife, he can't have me removed from the company because he'll be fighting his family.
