Chapter 130 Chapter 44.1

Chapter 130 Chapter 44.1
As the days passed, I noticed that Desmond was busy. I didn't know what he was busy with lately. I didn't know of any project he had. He was always away from his office. He never told me what he was doing or where he was going.
“Oh, Heaven, where have you been?” Mommy Shiermy asked when we crossed paths.
“I came from Desmond's office, Mom, but he's not there again. Do you know what he's doing? Does he have a lot of work?” I asked. Her brows furrowed slightly.
“I don't know anything about it. Doesn't he tell you what he's doing?” I shook her head.
“He doesn't,” I answered before letting out a sigh. I didn't want to overthink things because I believed that Desmond wouldn't hurt me again. He wouldn't do anything that could ruin our relationship, especially now that we already had a child together. He wouldn't want to give our child a broken family.
“Just wait for him, dear, or you can ask him later when you get home. I also have a lot of things to do right now, so I don't know what Desmond has been busy with either.” I could only nod.
“Okay, Mom,” after talking to Mommy, I went back to my office. I leaned against my chair while staring straight at the door. I was hoping it would open and Desmond would walk in.
Jake was always with him whenever he left his office. Did he have a meeting outside the company? But whenever he left his office before, he always told me everything.
I decided not to think about it anymore because maybe he was just too busy and couldn't find the time to tell me.
By afternoon, he finally came to my office. He looked like he was extremely tired.
“Where did you come from?” I asked him.
“Just my office, love. Where else would I go?” My eyebrow rose. He was lying because I had just come back to my office after going to his office, but he wasn't there.
“Where did you really come from? I just went to your office, but you weren't there. I've gone back and forth to your office three times, but I didn't see you there. Don't lie to me, Desmond. What are you doing, and why were you gone from your office for half the day?” I could no longer hide my irritation with him. He scratched the back of his neck, something he often did whenever I caught him.
“Jake and I just had something to take care of, love. I'm sorry. Are you done with your work? Let's go home. I miss our son already.” He tried to sweet-talk me. I angrily grabbed my bag and walked past him. If he wasn't going to tell me the truth, I would go home by myself. He could do whatever he wanted, since apparently, he couldn't trust me enough to tell me anything.
Was it really that difficult to tell me what he was doing?
“Love,” he called, but I didn't look back at him. When I saw that an elevator was already full, I squeezed myself inside.
“Heaven, wait,” I didn't look at him. He couldn't squeeze himself in because the elevator was already full. When the doors closed, he could only mess up his hair.
I hated people who lied to me. I hated being deceived. What was he doing that he didn't want to tell me?
I covered my mouth when I suddenly felt nauseous. All kinds of smells were mixed together inside the elevator, it was also so hot and there wasn't enough oxygen. I felt like I was suffocating inside. I wanted to get out already because I might throw up right there. It would be so embarrassing in front of the employees.
A few seconds later, the elevator finally opened, and I breathed a sigh of relief when I inhaled the fresh air. I thought I was going to throw up inside because it felt like my stomach was being turned inside out.
I quickly stepped out because Desmond had surely taken another elevator and he might catch up with me outside. When a taxi stopped, I quickly hailed it and got inside.
“Heaven, wait!” I could still hear Desmond shouting as he came out, but we had already driven away. I was angry with him because he had lied to me. I thought he promised he would tell me the truth.
He went home by himself because I didn't want to ride home with him. I couldn't shake off my irritation while I was on the way. If he still wouldn't tell me the truth when we got home, I wouldn't let him sleep beside me and our son.
What was he hiding?! It was so annoying.
When I arrived home, my son immediately welcomed me. I could only give him a small smile because I was still irritated.
“Where's Daddy, Mommy?” Daryl asked before looking at the door.
“I don't know, son. Just leave him alone because he knows how to find his way home,” I answered him.
Just then, the door suddenly opened, and I looked toward it.
“Why did you leave me? Why did you take a taxi? I'm not hiding anything from you, love. I didn't know you had gone to my office. Maybe when you were there, I was in the finance department,” he tried to explain, but I didn't believe him.
I felt like he still wasn't telling me the truth, so I didn't talk to him.
“Love, please listen to me,” he pleaded as he sat beside me. I moved to another seat in irritation. He could only sigh.
“Until you tell me the truth, don't sleep beside me and my son,” I said coldly before going upstairs to our bedroom.
We still ate dinner together, but he still didn't tell me where he had really gone. I wouldn't be angry if he had gone somewhere or visited someone. What made me angry was that he wouldn't tell me about it. He remained silent and even accepted that he would sleep in the guest room. I became even more annoyed because he let me stay angry with him the entire night.
“Good morning, love,” he said with a smile when I entered the kitchen. He was the one cooking, and there was already a lot of food prepared on the table.
“Hey, where are you going? Let's eat,” he called out, but I didn't look at him. I went back to our bedroom to get my bag.
“Are you leaving already? Aren't you going to eat first? I cooked all your favorite dishes, love.”
“Eat by yourself. I don't feel like eating if you're the one who cooked,” I said angrily before walking past him.
“Love,”
“What! Don't touch me,” I snapped angrily when he held my arm. He nodded, looking like a child, as if he were the victim here. It was so annoying. I turned my back on him because I might end up becoming weak because of his pitiful expression.
He didn't feel sorry for me, he let me go to sleep angry at him. Did he think he could win me over just by cooking my favorite food? That’s where he’s mistaken, because my annoyance with him outweighs everything else!
