Piper’s POV
“B-but why did you buy this bus? We don’t use the bus often,” I asked, still trying to assuage my inner shock.
“Turn around,” he whispered in my ear.
I turned around and looked into his beautiful blue eyes. “This bus must be very expensive. Wouldn’t it be better to rent it instead of buying it?”
Jay placed his index and middle finger on my lips. “It’s not too expensive. You don’t have to worry. I can use this bus for office events, anyway. Trust me, I’ve calculated everything. Now sit nicely in the back seat with the twins.”
“Lily, help Madam sit down,” Jay pleaded with Lily.
“I can walk and sit by myself. I don’t need anyone else’s help,” I retorted, pretending to frown.
“Obey me,” he retorted.
Lily immediately held out her hand, and I reached her hand and walked with her to the chair at the back.
Mom and Vanessa sat together in front of the twins’ seats. Lisa sat next to Jordan. Ken sat next to Lily. Nick sat next to Max. Austin, sat alone.
I finally arrived at the back of the bus. Before sitting down, I checked the bedroom that was right behind me. There was only one queen size bed complete with bed cover and air conditioner, a small table at the end of the room and a medium-sized glass hanging on the wall of the bus, and a small window right in front of the bed.
“Are you going to lie there?” Lily asked.
“No, I’ll just sit here. Please give me some tea,” I replied as I sat down and put my bag on the edge of the chair.
“Okay. Do you guys want tea, too?” Lily asked the twins.
“No, we don’t. We already brought milk,” Jessie replied. Jansen sat next to Jessie, reading a book. I noticed he had a few books in his bag.
A few moments later, Jay got on the bus and sat next to me, and the bus started its journey to Greenmore Resort.
What a happy day! We were going to have a week of fun.
Jay and I sat side by side, holding hands. I never imagined that one day I could sit with my husband. Spending time and sharing the difficulties.
It never occurred to me to be getting married after the incident at night seven years ago. Since then, I’ve been a little traumatized by men and reluctant to get into serious relationships with any men.
However, fate took me to a different stage and process. And now here I am with the man I spent the night with seven years ago.
Destiny is funny and adorable. How could it not be? We met accidentally and made love because of a misunderstanding. Got pregnant and gave birth without remembering the man who had planted his seed in my womb. A few years later, because of economic pressure, I accepted a job offer that brought me to that man. At the end of the story, we fell in love, got married, and will soon welcome our third child.
If someone asked me, “Are you happy with your old life?”
I would answer, “Yes, I was happy despite the hardships that made it difficult to shed tears despite the chaotic feelings and thoughts. But there’s no reason for me not to be happy.”
I slept the whole way, while Jessie watched her favorite movie on her phone. Jansen was busy with his book.
Four hours later, the bus entered Greenmore. Jay woke me up and told me to look at the view of the meadows and flower fields that stretched to our left and right.
As soon as I opened my eyes, “Wow.”
A vast meadow lay to our left. A few deer were enjoying a meal. Not far away, we could see a simple and sizable house in the middle of the meadow.
Satisfied with the view of the meadow, I turned my gaze to the flower field on our right side. I was speechless. God is so great. I saw a variety of colorful flowers and a small, simple house standing in the middle of the flower field. They painted the house pink and looked like a dollhouse. Adorable. At the back of the house was a large tree with enormous tree trunks. On the biggest tree trunk stood a small tree house.
“Mom, the house is so cute. I want a tree house. Dad, I want a tree house,” Jessie said.
“Hmm, if you get a higher rank, I’ll give you a tree house,” Jay replied.
“Really?” Jessie asked.
“Yes, but you have to work your way up like Jansen.”
“Hmm, Jansen is a genius. How can I match Jansen’s rank?” Jessie asked, frowning.
“Study with Jansen. Ah, we’re almost there. Let’s get ready,” Jay invited us.
So, we tidied up and checked a few things before getting off the bus as it pulled into the resort area. After the bus stopped in the parking lot, we all got off and walked into the lobby.
Greenmore Resort is the most luxurious tourist resort in Greenmore City and Valdirra. They have a beautiful blue sea with white sand and Greenmore is rich in various types of food.
After the check-in process was complete, we all made our way to the western part of the resort. The resort has four resort sections on the left wing and four resort sections on the right wing. They have eight VIP resorts, besides a twelve-story hotel next to the resort.
When the resort doors opened, our mouths were all agape and our eyes wide open. There was only one word to describe what was in front of us.
Perfect and luxurious.
Jay brought his lips to my ear and whispered, “Do you like it?”
I nodded, “Thank you, Jay. You must have spent a lot of money on all this.”
“Hmm, not much, actually. I have another surprise for you,” he replied.
“What?” he made me curious.
“One month earlier, I co-invested in this resort and hotel on your behalf, so you are the owner of the most luxurious and largest resort and hotel in Greenmore,” he replied.
“T-that.”
“Shh, just think of it as a wedding gift from me and the other gifts waiting in our room, and don’t say thank you again. If you want to thank me, just make love to me all night, hahaha,” he replied with a mysterious smile.
It looked like this vacation was going to be both fun and exhausting. But the wonderful time we spent with our family is irreplaceable.
Megan’s POV
I sat on the edge of a single bed in a small room with no luxurious amenities. Where was I going to put my collection of precious bags? Designer clothes, shoes, and jewelry when my room was even half the size of Helen’s mansion.
It was such a downgrade. Piper was going up while I was going down. It was not fair, and I couldn’t just stand by. I had to get out of this house and lived somewhere more decent.
What a misfortune. I was suffering.
Zac, help me!
