Helen was lucky that she had simply tied the kids to the chairs and hadn't truly hurt them in a cruel way. Stefan’s arm had been wrapped, and he held on to Conan the whole time.
"Hey, where's Leo?" Conan peered behind Mona and was surprised not to see Leo. It might not have been possible to fix things so quickly for today's festivities without Leo’s support.
Mona shook her head. She remembered the words she had said to Helen in a hurry, and her eyes grew heavy. She had thought of several ways that Leo could find out who the kids really were, but she had never thought of this one.
Conan appeared to know what she was thinking and patted her on the shoulder.
"Don't worry. I'll back you up if you have to fight for custody.”
Mona didn't say yes or no; she merely called Mr. and Mrs. Jenner. She didn't want to leave the kids with someone else after what had happened.
Luke and Rue still looked a little rattled when they got to the hospital. They gathered close to Mona and listened to her soft, calming words of consolation.
Mona left the ward with a solemn look on her face only after all the kids had gone to sleep. She looked at Mr. Jenner and said, "Mr. Jenner, I appreciate what you and Mrs. Jenner did for me. I have to go to the police station for a bit. Please comfort them if they wake up.”
Mr. Jenner said in a serious tone, "You can be sure of that. We will take good care of the kids.”
It was only then that Mona drove to the police station. The officer in charge of the case quickly said hello to her. As he talked about Helen’s current state, his face had a tinge of oddity. Today's kidnapping case is the easiest one they've ever worked on. They had just gotten the report, and all the crooks at the site had already been caught. Also, they were all tied up quite tightly, which showed a very high level of professionalism.
They would have wanted to know who was so powerful if it weren't for the bad timing. After they caught the criminal and brought her back, her mental condition has been very unstable.
“Miss Shell has not only refused to help us with our interrogation, but she has also brought up you and Mr. Gray’s names several times.” Officer Ty, who was in charge of the case, seriously briefed Mona outside the one-way window of the interrogation room.
Mona looked at Helen, who was pale and messy, in the questioning room and felt no pity at all. "I think she might be involved in more than just this kidnapping case.“
Mona told Officer Ty what Helen had said in the warehouse, and his face changed right away.
Officer Ty promised, "We will look into this matter very carefully. But given what she's done, it doesn't seem like this is her first time. By the way, we did find a lot of explosives under that warehouse," Officer Ty’s voice got colder. "If those explosives went off, it wouldn't just affect a one-kilometer area."
Mona’s back started to sweat cold. She assumed that Helen’s suggestion of explosives was just a tactic to terrify them, but she didn't think it would be true!
"But don't the laws in the country make sure that these goods are safe? How did she?... “
Officer Ty shook his head. "We need to look into the details of this case."
Mona considered for a moment and nodded.
Conan happened to show up at that exact time. When he saw Officer Ty, he told him everything that had happened in the last few days.
Conan broke up with Helen years ago because she was so possessive. Helen wouldn't accept it and kept bothering him. To get her to stop bothering him, Conan swiftly started seeing a new girlfriend, Agatha.
At first, Helen didn't give up and bothered him a lot. Later, Conan tricked her and sent her out of the country. At that point, he was able to get rid of her altogether. He also broke up with Agatha later.
Conan stated in a hushed voice, "i never thought Agatha would secretly give birth to my child and die young." He clearly didn't think things would end out this way.
Officer Ty was lost in thought. At that point, the police officer in charge of the interview came out by chance and looked a little worried when he saw Officer Ty.
"The criminal won't admit to anything and wants to see Miss Granger," he claimed.
"See me?" Mona frowned. She couldn't see how she and Helen could ever agree on anything. She thought that meeting Helen today would probably mean hearing a lot of crap.
Officer Ty told Mona, "If you don't want to, you don't have to go in."
Conan said. "We have a lot of proof, even if she doesn't say anything! There were a lot of people who saw what happened, and all of the tools used in the kidnapping had Helen’s fingerprints on them.”
Mona hesitated for a bit and then went in. She opened the door to the interrogation room with Officer Ty’s permission.
Helen, who seemed like she was lost in her feelings, suddenly smiled in a creepy way when she saw Mona coming. "Do you think putting me in jail at the police station ends everything? No, this is just the start.”
Mona thought about it for a moment and then said with a sneer, "I don't know if I'll have more trouble in the future, but you..I’ll make sure you root in jail.”
Helen was angry and yelled at her , "Who do you think you are?" What makes Conan care so much about you? He has put himself down so many times simply to make you happy! And what about me? No matter what I've done for him, he hasn't seen it. He even went so far as to use someone like you against me, stating I could never be his wife.” Helen’s face slowly changed, and her eyes were full of hate as she looked at Mona.
"One day, you'll be just like me. When it happens, I'll be rooting for you.” Helen passed out after saying that.
"Bring her to the hospital for a full checkup." Officer Ty showed up on time, and two other officers took Helen out.
Mona sat in a chair and frowned deeply. Before, she could only surmise what was going on. Now, she was almost sure that someone else hated Helen in a different way.
Conan, who had been watching from the sidelines, instantly came over to Mona and said, "Don't listen to her nonsense! If something happens, I'll be there to save you from behind.”
