Chapter 63 063

Chapter 63 063

Mona looked at Leo and Conan after she hung up. Both of them quickly grasped what she was thinking and yelled at the same time, "No, you can't go in!"
Leo was so angry that he grabbed her wrist and said, "What's the point of what you're doing besides wanting to die? Do you really believe she will let the two kids go because of this?”
Mona gazed at Leo calmly and slowly drew her hand away. "I can go in with hidden cameras to find the bombs." She didn't know why Helen suddenly went crazy.
"I'm going." Conan abruptly went forward and stared at Mona. "I had a furious dispute with Helen a few days ago and said a number of things that made her angry. I wanted to make her feel bad, but I didn't think she would make such a big deal out of it.” He turned his head toward the warehouse and said, "She also wants to marry me. You being there won't help.”
Mona shook her head, but the phone rang right then. Helen’s voice came through the phone with a note of humor. "So, have you made up your mind whether or not to meet my demands?"
Conan grabbed the phone and said in a cold voice, "We're in a remote suburb. How can I get married to you? Come out first, and then we can..."
Helen started laughing so hard that she couldn't stop. "Conan, you also lied to me when you left me back then by saying these things. But what happened next? You never came back! I won't trust you again!" she said in a strong, piercing voice.
"Mona, Conan, you both can't be missing. Come in, both of you!" As soon as Helen stopped talking, there were slapping sounds from inside, and then Luke and Rue started crying, "Mom... mummy.”
Mona’s heart was filled with homicidal purpose at that time. She held the pistol tightly in her hand and wanted to run in right away and kill Helen, holding the two kids close to her. But she couldn't.
Leo swiftly took her hand away and said, "Are you crazy?"
Mona suddenly felt clear when she heard his voice. She clutched Leo’s hand tightly and said into the phone, "Helen, I don't mind going in, but the kids are innocent. Leo owns those two kids, not Conan! Leo is their dad!"
Leo’s pupils shrank quickly as he looked at her in shock. But the Mona of today didn't pay any attention to what he said. She was intent on telling Helen, "I only found out I was pregnant after I divorced Leo. I didn't want the innocent kids to pay for our faults, so I decided to have them. You have been a single mother before. You should know..."
Helen interrupted her with a scowl and said, "What are you talking about? I have never been a single mother.“
"What?"
Mona’s comments were suddenly cut off, and she glanced at Conan in shock.
Conan seemed just as surprised.
"Don't waste time! It doesn't matter whose kids they are. I'll hurt them a little if you don't come in. Three minutes," she said in a playful but menacing tone. "One minute late, and I'll cut a small mark on their little arms..."
Mona took the walkie-talkie from the head of the security crew and hurried to the door of the warehouse before Helen could finish.
Conan was right behind him, but Leo stayed where he was, his brows wrinkled. "Make sure they're all where they need to be. They should respond right away if anything bad happens.” He couldn't stop thinking about what Mona had just said to Helen, so he pulled out a cigarette and lighted it.
“Mona, you better come back safe and sound.”
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Mona was out of breath as she sprinted to the warehouse entrance and pounded on the iron door, "I'm here. Open the door."
The iron door creaked open, and Helen stood there with her arms crossed in front of her. She looked as natural as if she were welcoming guests, "welcome miss Granger."
The three kids were tied to chairs in the dark, wet warehouse. Each one had a very pale face. Five or six big males were sitting behind the kids, and they were staring at them as if they would attack them at any moment.
Conan and Mona were careful and didn't do anything stupid. Mona looked at her with a stern look and said, "We're here. What are you going to do?
"Didn't I say?" Helen said, pressing a dagger to her own lips. Her eyes were wild. "I'll let your kids go if you bow down to me three times... Hold on." Helen’s lips twisted into a smile. "I'll only let one child go. Which one do you want me to let go?”
Mona seemed even more sad. "I won't choose. Let them both go.”
Luke and Rue glanced at their mother with excitement when she came into view. But they both held back and didn't yell out to her since they were worried about how safe she was from the dangerous ones.
Mona’s heart grew soft like water in an instant. She wished she could run up to them and hug them right away to make them feel better. Conan looked at Stefan. He saw Stefan sitting there with a blank look on his face, as if he didn't think anyone would come to help him.
"Helen, you've already gone too far. Don't make it worse.”
Conan came up to her slowly and spoke softly. "Please turn around now so we can act like nothing happened. You also have Stefan too.”
Helen started laughing uncontrollably when she heard these words. She pointed at Stefan and exclaimed, "My child? Why don't you ask him who his true mom is?”
Conan’s expression changed a lot when he looked at Stefan. Stefan started to cry.
"Do you remember Agatha York?" Helen asked. "That stupid woman who loved you so much that she couldn't help but have your child. Sadly, she passed away when she was still very young, and I gained from it.” Helen played with the dagger as she walked over to Stefan and waved the blade in front of his face.
Conan didn't expect to hear something like that. He clinched his fists to keep his rage in check. The chilly edge of the blade made Stefan scream and cry loudly. "Help me, Daddy!"
"What do you want? I promise you anything.” Conan’s heart raced, and he yelled loudly.
Helen carefully pulled the dagger back and said, "Didn't I tell you? I want to marry you!"
Conan looked at Mona without thinking.
Helen snorted cruelly, and then, without warning, she slashed Stefan’s arm.
Mona was surprised. She didn't think Helen would act so quickly! She pinched the secret weapon that was secreted in her sleeve, and her face got serious.
"Helen!"
"You're crazy!" Conan yelled fiercely.
Helen’s eyes were full of cruelty. She raised her hand to stab Stefan again, but Mona had surreptitiously gotten a sleeve arrow and shot it at her. It was the gun that Leo had given her before.
