Chapter 62 062

Chapter 62 062

"Did you see anything in the video?" Leo sped down the road and quickly took Mona to the hospital's entrance.

Conan came up swiftly. He looked serious as he said to her, "The surveillance footage showed two nurses taking the kids out of the ward. I checked their names and can say for sure that they work at the hospital. Because of this, no one had any reason to be suspicious of what they did.”

Mona’s heart fell slowly as she thought, "Where are the caregivers I hired?" She had to go back home for a short time this morning because of urgent business at the company. She was so worried about the kids' safety that she even hired two nannies.

Conan groaned deeply and said, "They both got anesthesia and passed out in the bathroom." He scowled when he saw Leo.

"Why is he here?"

Mona’s voice was flat. "We just happened to run into each other on the way."

"Mr. Cox, my kids don't need your help." Conan said and pointed to the door, saying, "You can just go back where you came from."

Leo wasn't mad, which was a surprise. He grinned and asked, "Do you think you can make it come true by acting like the kids' dad?"

Conan looked like he wanted to add more, but Mona’s annoyed voice stopped him. "Enough. Go outside if you want to fight.” With that, she went to the surveillance room by herself. The video from the surveillance room was clear.

The two nurses came out of the room with the kids not long after they went in. When asked, they calmly said that they were taking the kids to the doctor. No one suspected a thing, which is odd given who they were.

Mona’s face got more serious the more she watched. Conan, who was next to her, kept talking. "I've already gotten the addresses of the two nurses from the hospital. They've also gone missing, as it turns out.”

The three of them all looked serious. Williams and Nate rushed up, panting, and Williams them what he had found out. "The Tech Department staff are all working hard to find any information that could help save them. They declare they don't want any prizes. Even though Luke had only been in the Tech Department for a brief period last time, everyone there instantly liked him. Everyone was willing to help him out.”

Mona nodded without saying anything.

"Where did they go after they left the hospital?"

Leo had also had the Cox family's resources ready. They should be able to find out where the kids are very soon.

Conan didn't want to talk to Leo, but he realized this wasn't the time to fight. He didn't want to, but he shook his head. "We're not sure about it. We looked at the surveillance footage from the area. No one saw them.”

Mona showed Conan the picture that the abductor had given. When he saw it, his eyebrows furrowed considerably. "This kid..." He looked at the third person in the picture, who was not Luke or Rue. This person had been hiding in the shadows, and their outline was hard to see.

Mona hadn't paid attention to it because of that. "What's wrong?" She looked at Conan, who had a worried look on his face as he called his mother.

"Where's Stefan?"

Mrs. Poppy Gray told Conan in a panic that Stefan was disappeared. At the same time, Mona and Conan looked at each other and thought of a name. It was Helen Shell.

Leo also heard from the Cox family at the same time. They probably took the kids to an empty warehouse on the edge of town.

"I'll go with you."

Mona stopped Leo, who was going to leave and turn around. For the first time, she made her face softer for him. "They're my kids. I'm going.”

Leo looked at her without caring and threw her a weapon for self-defense. "Let's go."

"I'm going too!" Conan too ran out quickly, feeling like this might have anything to do with him.

Leo snorted, shut the car windows, and drove away swiftly.

Nate, who was behind Conan, came up with a smile. "Why don't you take my car, Mr. Gray?"

Conan got in the car with a sad look on his face.

"Don't worry, my team is all around the warehouse. If those people are a threat to the kids, they will be the first to step in.”

Leo abruptly spoke in a deep voice when Mona didn't say anything. She nodded and kept looking out the window of the car, as if she were looking for something to focus on, but she couldn't find one no matter how hard she tried.

Leo expected Mona would be quiet, but then she suddenly spoke up. "When I had them, I had a hard time giving delivery and even went into shock. My heart stopped beating for a moment. The doctor put both of them on my chest and let them cry, which brought me back to life. They're my kids."

Leo’s heart raced even though her voice was calm. He felt something he couldn't put into words, and without thinking, he tightened his grasp on the steering wheel. They got out of the car even though they still had a ways to go to the warehouse.

The bodyguards who were stationed here came over. "Right now, there are three hostages and five criminals in the warehouse. The three kids are protected, but their independence is limited. They haven't even wept yet.”

All of the bodyguards had been in the special forces and had been on many rescue missions. They had never seen kids who were so well-behaved. Mona’s heart sank when she heard this. She was able to stay calm and inquired, "Is there a young man among the criminals you talked about?"

The bodyguard nodded. "Yes, there is such a person, and it looks like the others are following her."

"Is it her?"

Conan also got there at this point. He gave the bodyguard a picture of Helen, who quickly said, "Yes!" That's her.”

At this point, Mona’s phone rang. Her face got darker as she saw the caller ID. "What do you want?"

"Guess," Helen scowled with a light laugh on the other end of the call. “All three of these are Conan’s kids. Who do you think he will pick to save?”

"You've got it wrong. He doesn't have kids named Luke and Rue.” Mona gripped her palm tightly and calmly answered.

But Helen didn't believe her at all. She smirked and asked, "Miss Granger, do you think I'm dumb? If Conan isn't the father of these two kids, then who is?”

Mona stopped herself from looking at Leo and said, "It doesn't matter who the children's father is. I just want to know what you want. You can't just want to watch Conan’s reaction if you're going to all this trouble and making all this noise.”

Helen giggled and said, "I do have demands. I want to marry Conan right now, and I want you to kneel down and bow to me three times. I know your people have found us, but there are a lot of bombs buried under the warehouse. If you do anything stupid, be ready to pick up these kids' dead bodies.”
