Chapter 103: Ready to Kiss Her?

Eliana wasn't quite sure how long she had been sitting there. She felt drowsy and decided to close her eyes for a brief respite.

Suddenly, she sensed someone's approach, the warmth of their breath drawing near, and two strong arms encircling her own.

Was this like a scene from a romantic drama, with Chase about to kiss her?

Her heart pounded wildly, feeling as if it would burst from her chest at any moment...

Suddenly, she was picked up and then pressed against a robust back. Chase had stood up with her on his back.

His shoulders were broad and thick, his muscular back firm and secure. Leaning against him filled Eliana with a sense of safety, warming her heart. Unconsciously, her hands tightened around his neck.

"You're awake?" Chase spoke abruptly.

Eliana's heart skipped a beat. How had he noticed? Was he planning to put her down?

"I am. You can let me down," she said, preferring to dismount on her own rather than be dropped.

Chase continued walking, "It's fine, we're almost there."

Eliana's cheeks flushed, doubting whether she had heard him right. Was he implying he would carry her all the way?

When had he become so considerate?

Eliana watched as the streetlights cast their intertwined shadows on the road. Looking at their figures pressed together, she couldn't help but smile.

"Are you free tomorrow night?" she asked.

Chase gave a nonchalant "Hmm."

"I'd like to treat you to dinner," Eliana said with a light laugh.

Chase snorted, "Even the tightwad is loosening up?"

He was taking advantage and showing off!

Eliana held back her temper and didn't flare up at him, "If you don't want to, that's fine."

"I do, who said I don't want to?"

From an angle Eliana couldn't see, Chase's lips curved into a clear smile.

"Then come find me after work."

Eliana wasn't sure when he would finish his tasks, but she had been idle lately.

"Alright."

As they chatted, they returned to the car, and Eliana's mind was already planning where to dine the next day.

On the way back, Eliana opened her phone to check food recommendations, "If you get off work early, shall we go shopping first?"

Without hesitation, Chase said, "Sure."

Eliana's heart filled with even more joy, and she began to plan the itinerary for tomorrow.

...

The next day, Eliana went downstairs to find only breakfast and a note.

"Off to work, don't forget to eat breakfast."

She had never mentioned to Chase what she liked for breakfast. Usually, whatever he bought was what she ate. If it suited her taste, she would eat a bit more; if not, she would just make do.

What surprised her was that Chase had paid such close attention to her. The breakfast laid out on the table was all to her liking.

A warm feeling filled her heart...

After finishing her breakfast, Eliana left for the company.

Her main task today was to get a contract signed by Mr. Wilkinson. When she called, it was the assistant who answered.

"Mr. Wilkinson is busy today; you can just send the contract over."

He had agreed last night; she hoped there wouldn't be any complications.

Eliana, a bit uneasy, said, "When is Mr. Wilkinson available? Maybe we should meet and talk?"

The assistant immediately knew what she was thinking, "You don't have to worry. Mr. Wilkinson has instructed that if you send the contract over, he will sign it. If you're still not at ease, we can send a deposit first."

A deposit before signing the contract?

Had Eliana not been seasoned, she would have thought there was a trick.

Their overly generous gesture made Eliana seem a bit petty, "I didn't mean that, let's follow the process."

"Okay, that's great, Mrs. Wilkinson."

Eliana frowned slightly, puzzled, "What?"

The assistant almost bit his tongue, "I mean, it's great to have to chance to cooperate with your company. Mr. Wilkinson is looking forward to it!"

Eliana chuckled, "It's our honor. I'll send the contract over shortly."

After hanging up, she double-checked the contract before sending it to the email of the Wilkinson Group's president.

Thinking about the imminent million-dollar deposit, Eliana ordered pastries, coffee, and a layer cake to treat all her colleagues.

Unfortunately, her uncle had to accompany Chloe for a prenatal checkup today, so he missed out.

Sierra came over excitedly, "Miss, should we prepare two firecrackers?"

"Firecrackers for afternoon tea? Sierra, you've been a bit ostentatious lately."

Sierra knew what she was hinting at. "Two is too few, not ostentatious enough, I'll buy eleven!"

Sierra grinned slyly and ran out immediately.

Eliana was in the mood for mischief today. When she reached the company's entrance, she saw that what Sierra had bought were not just firecrackers that could make a loud noise but also emit smoke. They had even prepared fans to blow the smoke towards the opposite office.

"Are the people from Griffith Enterprise looking for trouble?"

"Cough, cough... Stop it right now, cough, cough..."

A few colleagues couldn't withstand the smoke and had to call Vanessa over.

"Eliana, are you looking for trouble? I'll deal with you today!" Vanessa came in and made a move towards Eliana.

Eliana dodged with a sidestep, "Don't try to hit me, I won't tolerate it."

Vanessa was furious and deliberately approached Eliana, "I'm carrying Jimmy's child, dare you to touch me? If anything happens to me, Jimmy will skin you alive!"

She wasn't afraid at all; if Eliana dared to touch her, she would just lie down and see who Jimmy would side with when he came.

Eliana, of course, didn't want a direct confrontation. Vanessa was like iron, and she was like porcelain; if they really clashed, it would be her who suffered.

Seeing her retreat, Vanessa became even more aggressive, pressing forward, "So what if you grabbed a single order? What's there to show off about? I can have Jimmy give it to me anytime I want!"

"I heard that recently there's a distinguished guest at the Diamond Club who spends every day in the VIP room, entwined with a girl named Chantal. I don't know if you know her?"

Eliana was surrounded by socialites and wealthy daughters who frequented high-end clubs or bars. She had introduced Jeremy to them before, so they all knew him.

She had received numerous photos of Jeremy with women, lost in the club.

Such precious photos, of course, had to be shared with Vanessa.

Eliana sent the photos to Vanessa, each one with a clear shot of Jeremy and that girl.

The company employees nearby heard the news and all started gossiping.

"I really didn't expect Mr. Jeremy to be like this."

"Fortunately, our CEO was wise and left him early. He's really indecent. Those girls in the club are very easy. Doesn't Vanessa feel disgusted sleeping with Jeremy at night?"

"I heard she's pregnant, so Jeremy is hooking up with women every day."

"So being a home breaker has no good end, just look at Vanessa."

Vanessa was so angry that her face turned red, her eyes widened, and she screamed. Perhaps too excited, a streak of blood slid down her thigh...
