Chapter – 16

Third Person’s POV

Trisha was smashing every object within her reach in her room in the Mallik mansion. She was angry. She felt betrayed. She was venting her anger by breaking breakable objects in the room.

From the downstairs drawing room, everyone could hear the sound of smashing things from Trisha’s room. They were confused about it. Trisha had gone to meet with her grandfather in his office room; when she went to her room or why the sound of smashing things was coming, they were confused about it.

Vihaan volunteered to go and check it. Due to the elevator present in their house, it was easy for Vihaan to go to Trisha’s room on the second floor.

Just as Vihaan entered the room a showpiece fell and broke near Vihaan’s wheelchair. It could have hit Vihaan but thankfully it missed the chance.

“What is wrong with you? What happened to you?” - Vihaan asked with a very confused expression.

Trisha looked at Vihaan with anger and hatred which Confused Vihaan even more. He didn’t understand the reason for Trisha’s anger or hatred.

“Don’t act like a goody two shoes. I will not fall for your acting anymore.”

Trisha’s statement confused Vihaan even more. He has never seen Trisha behave this way or talk with him with this tone.

“What happened to you, Trisha? Why are you behaving this way?”

“So, this was your plan behind this marriage! Now I understand why you agreed to this marriage. But Vihaan Kapoor! I will not let you succeed. I thought of you as my friend. But you know what, even enemies are better than you.” - Trisha said with gritted teeth.

Trisha said with so much hatred which made Vihaan more confused. He was hurt by Trisha's statement. He was also scared. He didn’t want to ruin his relationship with Trisha. But he had no clue of the reason behind Trisha’s hostile behaviour towards him.

“What are you talking about? What plan? What did I do?” - Vihaan asked with puzzlement.

“What did you do? You are asking me that! You manipulated my grandpa. My father made this company. I will not let you snatch my right. I have the right to this company. If anyone else will get the right then that will be my cousin, Krishan…not you. Do you understand, Vihaan Kapoor?” - Trisha said with determination.

“Trisha, I have no idea what you are talking about. Why would I be interested in your father’s company? I think you have some misunderstanding.”

Vihaan didn’t understand why Trisha had the misconception that he wanted her father’s company.

“Oh really?” Trisha mocked “You want me to believe that!?”

“Really, Trisha…believe me I have no idea what you are talking about. What right? I have no idea. Trust me…please.” Vihaan desperately wanted to convince Trisha.

Trisha sneered. She was about to reply something to Vihaan but before she could say anything her uncle and cousin entered the room with concerned and confused expressions. They were shocked to see the condition of the room. Everything was shattered in the room. It looked like a tsunami had occurred inside the room.

“Trisha, what happened in this room? What happened to you? Why are you shouting at Vihaan?” - Krishan, Trisha’s cousin, asked her while walking over to her.

Trisha hugged her cousin and started sobbing “Bhai, grandpa transferred all my shares of the company to Vihaan. Now he is the largest shareholder in the company. He married me to get my shares of the company. How could he do this to me? Grandpa told me I cannot handle myself after some drinks then how will I manage a company? He thinks of me as an irresponsible person. He believes I am incompetent to handle the company’s affairs.”

Vihaan was bewildered upon hearing this. He had no idea about this. He didn’t understand why Mr Tarun, Trisha’s grandfather had done such a thing without even informing him. He knew very well how much this company mattered to Trisha.

Trisha continued her ramble “I have been trying so hard to prove to everyone my compatibility of arranging the company. How could he do that to me? How could grandpa transfer the right of the company to some outsiders? It is my right. If anyone gets the right except me, then that would be you. Not him!” -Trisha said while pointing at Vihaan.

Vihaan was a little hurt when Trisha referred to him as an outsider. He didn’t understand when everything was going well, why Mr Tarun ruined everything.

“Trisha, maybe grandpa is angry because you have drunk even after promising him that is why he has said those things just to frighten you. He knows very well how much you care about this company. Besides, have you forgotten the right of the company is under your name, not Grandpa’s name? He cannot transfer the shares of the company to anyone.” - Krishan said while comforting Trisha.

“No…No…no …that is the thing I did wrong. I trusted him and this Vihaan. But they tricked me! They tricked me Bhai, they tricked me, uncle.” Again, Trisha started crying.

“What are you trying to say, Trisha? I did nothing. What are you talking about?” - Vihaan said with confusion. He didn’t understand why Trisha believed that he had tricked her. He did nothing.

“Oh please! Don’t act so innocent.” Turning to her uncle who was standing just beside Trisha with a very confused expression “You know uncle, the marriage contract that I signed is not just a marriage contract. The clauses they said to me were all lies. They hid a big fact. In the contract, it is written that If I cancel this marriage within 10 years then all my rights over the company will be transferred to Vihaan. I cannot divorce him within 10 years!” Trisha broke down.

“What?” - The three men present in the room shouted with dumbfounded expressions.

“Trisha, believe me, I have no idea about this. I don’t know anything.” - Vihaan tried to make Trisha believe him. He had really no idea about this clause.

“Shut up! Shut up! Don’t act. I don’t believe you. You are a liar. I hate you.”

Shouting at Vihaan, Trisha stormed out of the room. Behind her, Krishan and his father also followed.

‘No, no, no…you cannot hate me, Trisha. I will not be able to handle that.’ - Vihaan mumbled to himself. A lone tear made its way out of Vihaan’s eye.
