Chapter – 15
Trisha’s POV
I don’t know what my grandpa will do to me. I am dead. I promised Grandpa that I would never drink again, but I broke my promise.
I don’t understand what grandpa’s people were doing at the bar. According to my knowledge, they don’t drink. Besides, I don’t remember them bringing me home.
Instead, I remember Vihaan bringing me back home. Vihaan said I was hallucinating. Was I really hallucinating? Why do I hallucinate about him? People normally hallucinate when they are mentally ill or stressed about something. I am neither mentally ill nor always stressed about Vihaan’s well-being. Then why? Why did I hallucinate? Or was I not hallucinating? Was it true?
I don’t know why but still I cannot believe that Vihaan cannot walk. I was drunk the previous day but what about before my marriage? I have seen him climb on the tree house situated in the backyard of our farmhouse, had I seen wrong?
No, I don’t think so. I clearly remember the day we went to our farmhouse; I was in my room watching the night sky through my window when I saw someone climb on the treehouse. I got very scared; I thought some thief had entered our house. I hurriedly hid under my bed first, then after taking some courage I went downstairs to inform my grandfather and uncle about the thief, I noticed they were welcoming someone into our house. And to my utter shock, that person was none other than the thief. But the strange thing was he was sitting in a wheelchair. I became very confused. I didn’t want to be disrespectful towards our guests so I kept quiet.
That was the first day I met Vihaan. I don’t know if I met him before or not because my memory was blank but I felt a familiar feeling seeing him as if I knew him very well. No one told me anything about me knowing him before so I also didn’t inquire.
I didn’t tell anyone about the incident. When grandpa proposed the contract marriage, I agreed to the marriage easily because I thought I knew a secret of Vihaan that he can walk and he has his motive like all the drama I have seen.
But all my assumptions were crushed on our wedding night when I stabbed him in the leg and he didn’t even flinch.
Somewhere still there is a doubt in my heart about him. I don’t know why. If he cannot walk then who was the person at the tree house on that day? Does he have a twin? And if he can walk then why is he not telling me? Or how could he not feel pain from the stab? Urgh! I am very confused.
My thoughts were broken by someone shaking my shoulder lightly. I looked at Vihaan with raised eyebrows.
“We have arrived. Let’s go…your grandpa must be waiting for us eagerly.” Said with a smirk on his face.
I wanted to punch his face. He was enjoying my situation. I didn’t know if he really can walk or not but I wanted to cripple him by myself at that very moment.
“What kind of a husband are you? You are enjoying your wife’s misery?”
Vihaan was about to reply to me but Rajiv said before he could utter a single word, with a pitiful expression “Please don’t start again. For God’s sake, you both are adults. Behave like one. My ears are already bleeding hearing both of your quarrels all the way here. Not again.”
Both of us looked at each other and then started laughing seeing Rajiv’s pitiful expression.
Really! Poor Rajiv! every time…whenever we quarrel like a child Rajiv had to tolerate us without compiling anything. We both gave Rajiv our sheepish smile.
For a fraction of a second I had forgotten about my grandpa but standing in front of the door all my fear came back. Exhaling a deep breath, I entered the house. Let’s see what would happen…what punishment was waiting for me.
Third Person’s POV
TIME SKIP
In her room, Trisha was smashing everything which came within her reach. She was angry. She felt betrayed. There was only rage in her eyes.
At that moment Vihaan entered the room. He was shocked to see the condition of the room. The entire room was a mess. It looked like a tsunami transpired in the room. He looked at Trisha with a confused expression.
“What happened to you? What are you doing?” - Vihaan asked Trisha with a baffled expression.
Trisha looked at Vihaan with rage and hatred which confused Vihaan even more.
“So, this was your plan behind this marriage! Now I understand why you agreed to this marriage. But Vihaan Kapoor! I will not let you succeed. I thought of you as my friend. But you know what, even enemies are better than you.”
Trisha said with so much hatred which made Vihaan more confused. He was hurt by Trisha's statement. He was also scared. He didn’t want to ruin his relationship with Trisha. But he had no clue of the reason behind Trisha’s hostile behaviour towards him.
