Chapter 64

Chapter 64
Evelyn’s POV

Mitchel’s face shifted a little, almost for a very short time that I almost didn’t notice the change, and then her smile returned, full and vibrant, like it never left.

“Luna, you do not need to worry about such things. If there is anything you need to do or know about this Pack, I believe the Alpha will let it known to you.”

I nodded, forcing a smile to my face. “Of course, Mitchel, I understand.” Even though I felt completely opposite from how I look right now. “This is the room, right?”

Damon’s room was much wider and exquisite than I had imagined it would be. Only the relics alone, was sure to have cost millions.

My jaw dropped, and even though I tried to act normal at this surprising display of wealth, I just couldn’t. It was way too much for me to pretend about it.

Damon isn’t here, I wish he was here, then I would ask him to his face how he managed to gather such impressive amount of wealth. This was beyond imagination, and no gossip would be able to capture the greatness of this man, my mate.

“Alright, you should relax, it must have been a very busy day for you. The ladies would help you unpack. Please tell me if you need anything.” That was clearly Mitchell’s way of saying the conversation’s over, not that I have anything to say to her anyway.

I dragged Lily, a smile appearing on my face. If I am going to be in this awesome place, then I’d better enjoy it with Lily, she could literally charm the dead back to life.

“Luna, what—" Mitchel suddenly stopped walking, and instantly became defensive, her eyes brazing with a heat that almost made me take a step back.

“She cannot enter that room. That room is for the Alpha and our Luna.” Her eyes were still fixed on Lily, as though she had just caught her committing a huge crime.

My heart began to race. I looked between the two, noticing for the first time the intensity in their gazes. It looked as though they were eager to tear each other apart, and for a moment I saw a glint in Lily’s eyes, that made her look almost too terrifying for an ordinary omega.

“Lily is my friend, she’s with me Mitchel. You do not need to worry.” My calm voice broke through their intense gaze, and I saw Mitchel’s gaze falter a bit.

“Luna—” Her voice was barely a whisper, and she bowed her head as a means of submission.

“Please Mitchel.” I knew I didn’t need to take permission from her to do anything, but yet again, she seemed to be looking out for Damon and I, only that she doesn’t need to do that if that person is Lily.

I dragged Lily into the room and we shut the door behind us, giggling as we heard gasps. But as soon as we caught of sight of the interior of the room, our jaw dropped.

“Okay, I think she’s right Eve, I can’t be in a place like this.” She sounded terrified; I was terrified too. We stared at the overly shinning room, not shinning because of the lightening alone, but because of the unexpected number of precious stones and relics of display.

“Nonsense, how do you expect me to stay here alone, Lily. Don’t be like that.” I dragged her to the wide bed, that seemed to be the size of 2 queen sized beds all in one. This was luxury, and the room itself was too wide, almost like the size of 3 rooms of a normal bedroom.

We both fell on the bed looking around. I suddenly felt so out of place, was this the kind of life I am going to be waking up to everyday. Why did it feel so empty?

My heart tightened, and a strange feeling of sadness wrapped itself around me. I missed my mate; I hate that we are fighting.

“Eve, you are not planning to keep us both locked up right, we need to explore this place.” Lily’s excited screeching sound came to me first, dragging me out from my little fit of sadness.

I blinked. “Explore, Lily we don’t know anyone here, literally. Damon isn’t here anyway, not like we are big on talking to each other anymore, and everyone here seems to be treating us as though we were aliens that fell from the sky… well except for Mitchel.” I looked at Lily, on time to see her face shift into coldness.

“What’s that with you and Mitchel out there?”

Lily half rolled her eyes. “I don’t like her, people like her seem to feel they are everything and that they have everything in the world. She was trying to subdue me.”

I rolled my eyes. “Yeah right.” Typical Lily, doesn’t like to be controlled.

Her face brightened suddenly. “How about we go clubbing, there is no better way to enjoy than clubbing.”

I twisted my face. “No clubbing Lily, the last time I tried that, I almost died, and we don’t even know how safe or otherwise this place is.”

Lily shook her head lightly seating up. “Well firstly, you didn’t die, your mate was there to save you on time, and I can assure you he always will. Again, I am pretty sure those terrifying men out there, and of course Mitchel wouldn’t want to let you out of their sight, so you are perfectly safe.”
Thinking about it now, it almost seemed like she had a valid point. But…

“NO, we are not going.” I turned away, indicating It was the end of that discussion. It took me a long time and of course Damon’s help to be able to overcome the panic attacks and the fear of what had happened to me that night. I still see that vampire’s face in my dreams at times, and how he was killed.

Lily let out a sigh. “I know you are afraid, but you seem to be sucking. Alpha Damon is angry with you right now, and you are getting too depressed, its not helping. You need something to cheer you up…... and who knows, you might even be able to get our dear Alpha jealous.”

I turned to look at her for the first time, a small frown on my face. “What do you mean?”

Lily giggled. “Mates do sense their mate’s feelings and emotions, he will definitely sense you out there, and he would come to find you. Then that would be your chance to make up.”
