Chapter 65

Chapter 65
Evelyn’s POV

The sound of loud music was all I could hear, and the crowded room’s light was dim, and so you can barely see the other person’s face. For a moment, I began to wonder if coming here was a bad idea.

Lily was already moving her body to the music, dancing like she had no other cares in the world, but I still couldn’t bare it, I kept looking behind me incase another vampire was going to try and sneak up.

I could see the Pack’s warriors around; they didn’t even try to keep it district that they were watching us. Mitchel had insisted she would follow us, after trying so long to stop us from living. She gathered about 5 experience Pack warriors to come with us, and presently they were everywhere around me, watching me with their terrifying eyes.

I still can’t relax around them or anyone else. I tried to remind myself that I am safe, with their terrifying watchful gazes, nothing would happen to me. They wouldn’t let anything or anyone hurt their Luna, right? So, I should probably just enjoy this moment like Lily.

Lily passed me a glass of whisky, grinning as she drowned her own glass. I stared at the content for a short while and then I follow suit. I felt it burn my throat as it hurried down, burning my heart almost with its terrifying hotness.

Then, I began to feel lighter, happier. I giggled, and began swaying to the music, feeling it rush through me.

We began to dance in sync, I don’t even know the song that was playing, but the beat was enough to make me sway along with thousands of other dancers in the room.

This was heaven. I forgot all about anything bothering me, and danced to the music.

Suddenly, I felt my body being pulled back, until I hit a wall strong chest. My whole body froze, and then the feeling of shock began to rush through me.

My fingers began to tremble as I made to pull away, but then his hands pulled me even closer, pinning me to his chest. Just then, the overly familiar scent hit me, sending both hot and cold shivers chasing themselves down my spine

I breathe him in, feeling the relief wash through me. He snugged his face into the hallow of my neck and inhaled the scent, and that was enough to make my breath hitch.

“Hello little wolf.” He whispered against my neck, as he planted a gentle kiss on it.

Tears wailed up in my eyes. It felt like eternity since he held me like that, or touched me tenderly. It felt like eternity since he called me little wolf, the endearing name he gave me that always had a way through my heart.

“Damon…” I trailed off, not knowing what to say. I wanted to be angry with him, I know I should, but I have missed him so much to even think of anger right now.

“Shh.” He whispered, the vibration making my body ting. “Not here, let me hold you for a bit.” I could hear the tenderness in his voice, the one that had been missing from the time he saw me with Seth. I realized I have to explain all these misunderstandings.

“I have missed you.” He whispered gently, his head resting on my shoulder, and his hands tightening around me. A tear finally slid down my face.

I wanted to tell him that I missed him too, but my lips seemed to have a mind of their own, and refused to speak. Just then, he slowly turned me around to face him, and surprisingly, he leaned in, and claimed my lips in a long, slow burn kiss.

My face turned red. Does he have no shame, how could he shamelessly kiss me like that in front of his subjects. But when I turned, I saw that all the guards who had come with us, that had been standing stiffly around me were nowhere to be found.

It seemed that they must have left as soon as they saw Damon. They were around somewhere, but clearly out of sight to give us some privacy.

Damon’s eyes were still on me, deep and searching, in a way that sent waves of desire, happiness and peace through me.

Suddenly, he took my hand in his, and began to lead me away from the crowd. I tried to tell him that Lily was here too, but then I saw her waving me goodbye, the smile on her face as though telling me that she was alright.

Damon led me into the cold night, and then he wrapped his arm around me, and led me to his car, an SUV parked at the corner of the dimly lit street. He opened the door for me and I got in, and then he got into the driver seat.

As soon as he got in, he put his hand at the back of my neck and pulled me close, pulling me into a heart wrenching kiss. He kissed me like a starved animal, deep and intense.

I could barely catch my breath; my heart was already racing as I tried to match his kisses with one of my own. Damn, I have missed this.

Recalling that I have not talked to him about the issue, I tried to pull away to explain, but he pulled me even closer, deepening the kiss.

I subconsciously circled my arms around his neck, trying to get a hold of my own wild thoughts. My head became blank, making no space for thoughts, as his tongue found its way into my mouth, seeking, thrusting.

It took everything in me not to jump on him at this point, I could feel my core dripping with my arousal. Goddess, this man is going to be the death of me.

He pulled away briefly, resting his head against mine as we both fought to catch our breathes. Our breathing moved in sync.

“Damon, about Seth, there really was………….”

He pulled away then, his face closing off again. “I don’t want to talk about him, not now.”

I swallowed the painful lump forming on my throat. I wanted to explain everything to him, I wanted him to trust me more, but he doesn’t seem interested to have the conversation which made me even more uncomfortable.

“Damon…..”

“Eve, not now.” The sternness in his voice made my heart tighten, and my heart twisted.
