Chapter 63
Chapter 63
Evelyn’s POV
Just then, someone came to tell us that we should get ready since we will soon be arriving on the Pack’s borders. I frowned. I thought I had time to talk to Damon about this, but unfortunately it was too late.
I left Lily there and rushed back towards his room to see if I can find him, but he wasn’t there. His room was empty as though he was never there. I let out a tired sigh, no one told me that relationships could be this stressful.
I went back to my own room to gather my things. Who even brought the idea of giving us separate rooms in the first place? If that hadn’t happened, then I would have had better chances to talk to him.
I dragged my bag out, but two men came forward taking it from me with a respectful bow. I got to know that they were from Damon’s Pack, our pack now.
Lily rushed forward dragging me to see the view she had just discovered.
“This place is so beautiful.” She sounded so excited as we got there, and as soon as I saw the view of the Pack ahead, my mouth dropped.
“Wow.” There were so many people, but the buildings were so exquisite and perfect. I could see tall buildings, so tall that I wonder how they managed to get that high. We had tall buildings too, but they would look so small compared to this one.
“I think I am going to love it here.” Lily was jumping from excitement. She looked as though she had just been gifted her favourite candy.
I smiled. “Yeah, me too.”
When we got offboard, I couldn’t find Damon anywhere. Just then, a noticed a woman come forward, she had a wide friendly smile on her face. Lily shifted uncomfortably.
“Hello, you must be Luna Evelyn.” She greeted, showing her perfect set of dentitions. I forced a smile to my face, which was mostly awkward than friendly.
“Um, yes I am. And you are?”
Her smile only broadened. “It’s so nice to finally meet you Luna, my name is Mitchel, I am the Gamma. I will be accompanying you to the Pack house.”
I didn’t want to feel awkward or uncomfortable, but I still felt that way strangely. I nodded. “Sure of course. Where is Damon?” I looked around, “I can’t find him anywhere.”
She made an ‘Oh’ sound. “The Alpha had some urgent matter to attend to, he will be meeting you back at the Packhouse.”
I turned to look at Lily, but she was too busy staring at the woman with a look I couldn’t explain, to even notice that I was trying to talk to her. I sighed, and turned back to Mitchel.
“Sure, shall we proceed then?”
She nodded. “This way Luna.” She led me to a roll of cars, SUV’s and a Limousine in the center of them all. A man stepped out, bowed and opened the door into the Limousine.
“That’s our ride?” Lily couldn’t hold in her excitement and shock. I was pretty sure I had that funny surprised expression on my face. Now how rich was Damon?
Lily and I exchange glances and then she rushed in with excitement. I saw Mitchell’s face twist a little, but then she shot me a smile gesturing to me to enter. I am pretty sure she found it disrespectful that Lily entered before me. MY lips twitched with a smile.
The interior of the car was something else, it was so perfect and lavishing. I stared around in disbelief. I turned to Lily, leaning closer to her.
“Did you know Damon was this rich?” I had to ask someone; it was clear I was already losing my mind.
She shook her head. “I wanted to ask you the same thing. Girl you landed a big shot.” She giggled, grabbing a glass of wine she found somewhere, ready to open it up. My eyes widened. How did she always manage to know exactly where to find drinks? This was clearly a characteristic of a drunkard.
“Lily, behave.” I whispered to her with a stern expression, but she giggled.
“Come on Eve, don’t be a kill joy. All this is for you to enjoy, you shouldn’t let any of it waste away. Imagine what will happen if this wine expires? It will be thrown away, and it will just be a waste.” She gave me a puppy smile, and then she fetched the glasses.
She opened the wine and poured us drinks. I giggled as I brought it to my lips. Well, it was clearly ours to take, so why not have a little fun.
We talked and laughed while taking our drinks, which gladly was mostly fruity than alcoholic. The car then drove through a gate hidden away in the woods I couldn’t help but notice. Everything about it looked so beautiful and well structured, and the people at the gate looked very scary and strong, and they saluted our car as we drove past.
Damon was a rogue as they said. It still shocked me when I was told he had a Pack of his own. I thought rogues are not supposed to have a pack of their own, they were supposed to be powerless wanderers, but with him everything seems so different.
He had a pack, a yacht and an obvious great wealth. The more I saw about it, the more I realized that I knew little to nothing about this man.
The car packed, and then we got out when our door was opened. Mitchel came forward with that smile still playing on her lips. I couldn’t help but notice how genuine her smile looked, not the fake smile we plaster on her face even though we are unhappy. She looked genuinely happy.
“Luna, welcome to Dynasty Pack. Please come with me, I will show you around.” She said, gesturing me into the magnificent looking building.
I tried not to gawk at the building like some local untrained thing. But the magnificence of this building alone sent a rushed feeling through me. My heart kept pounding as we got into the building.
I caught sight of the chandelier, that alone must have cost a fortune, and the interior, it screamed luxury, one I wouldn’t have imagined I would walk into. I am sure Alpha Morgan would not even come close to Damon’s wealth here on display.
We went straight to the room that she said was Damon’s and so we would be sharing as he had instructed, and for a moment I stayed out there. I don’t know why I feel so nervous right now, or why I continuously felt this dull thudding of my heart. Maybe it was just nervousness, or just fear of being in a new strange place.
I turned to her. “Mitchell, is there anything I need to know about this place or the people here?” I asked, a smile on my face.
Her smile faltered a little.
