Chapter 62
Chapter 62
Evelyn’s POV
‘Don’t cry Eve, don’t drop a single tear, otherwise, I will kill you.’ I thought deeply as I clenched my fists tightly as soon as I left there, trying so hard to stop my tears from dropping.
I matched to my room and locked myself in there. If Lily had not been drunk, then she would have been the best person to lay off this load on my chest too. I have never felt so alone before, like I felt at this moment.
I know I am supposed to enjoy this day, enjoy every moment of this yacht ride, something I never imagined I would experience all my life, but here I am sucking because some idiot who happened to be my mate, is angry with me.
I fell hard on the bed with my head facing the ceiling. I fucking hate this.
I don’t know what happened after that, but someone was calling my name. I opened my eyes to see a giggling Lily.
I frowned. “Lily?” I thought she was drunk and almost losing her mind. I slowly sat up from the bed but she sat heavily on my bed, a wide smile on her face as she fell back facing the ceiling.
“Okay, you are being weird, aren’t you supposed to be drunk and sucking somewhere?” I couldn’t help my curiosity as I took back my formal position laying side by side with her.
“That was about 3 hours ago.” She rolled her eyes, placing her two hands on her chest.
I frowned. “What? 3 hours ago.”
She looked at me as though I have lost my mind. “You must have fallen asleep or something. But damn we are so pathetic, this was supposed to be a very wonderful experience where we enjoy every part of this ride. We might never get to do this again.” She remised with a frown.
I thought the same. “Is it too late now, staying in here is getting a bit too depressing for me.” I admitted. It is still a wonder that I fell asleep and slept for 3 hours straight. I should really check out with a doctor to see if I really am alright.
Lily smiled. “Yeah, but i was informed we are almost arriving at our destination. We should be there in the next 30 to 50 minutes.” She sat up arranging her hair.
My eyes widened. “Already. Damn, I should really slap my own head. I missed all the interesting stuff.”
We both got out from the room and went up to get a better view of the waves. Lily got us beer to drown. I stared at the bottle of terrifying liquid.
“Do you think we should be taking this?” I was still staring at the bottle, wondering where the hell she managed to get this from.
Lily giggled. “Well not exactly, but who cares. Watching waves is best done with a bottle of beer.”
I sighed. “Lily you were drunk about 3 hours ago. Its too early to get drunk again, and if we are arriving as soon as you said we are, then we should arrive at a new pack feeling tipsy, that’s not a good first impression.”
Lily made an ‘Ah’ sound. “Yeah, I get it now. Sorry, I forgot you are a Luna now.” She smiled as she grabbed the two bottles and put them aside. She returned soon after with a bottle of chips.
“So, Luna, why do you look as though you are going to burst out crying any minute?” She threw some chips into her mouth, but her eyes were brimming with curiosity.
I turned to her; my eyes wide. “You noticed? Is it that obvious?”
She shrugged. “Maybe, maybe not. I am your friend; I should notice all these things. Tell me, what happened, are you still fighting with your mate?” She chewed on her chips, the sound filling up the silence.
I sighed, running my fingers through my hair. “Lily, I don’t know alright. He is angry and jealous, I get that. But he doesn’t trust me, I don’t know how I will live with that.”
I don’t know why, but just talking about it makes me feel even more depressed, my eyes wailing up with tears.
Lily paused. I could feel her eyes on me, it felt as though she could see right through me.
“What happened, I thought you were the one angry then?”
Exactly my point, now I don’t even have a stand point, it felt as though we were living that same scene over and over again.
“Lucien came to say goodbye.” I told her simply.
Her eyes widened. “He did, why didn’t you tell me? That son of a bitch.”
For the first time, my lips twitched with amusement. “You were busy getting drunk, remember?”
Her face fell. “Yeah, something like that. Well, continue.”
I giggled. “Well, he brought Seth along, he said he wanted to apologize.”
Her face twitched. She looked like she was about to pour out curses again but decided against it.
“Well, while they were hugging me goodbye, Damon saw us, and he became angry again. He doesn’t trust me.” I let out a tired sigh. I just don’t know anymore.
Lily looked away, as though in deep thought. “Maybe, the person he doesn’t trust is Seth, not you.”
I frowned. “I don’t understand.”
She shrugged. “Just like girls know each other, I think men can see through the intentions of their own kind. Maybe he can see through Seth’s intentions and why he is around you. Maybe that’s why he is angry and jealous.” She looked serious and for a moment I began to see reasons with her.
In fact, since Seth started coming back, it was true to say his intentions was far from pure. Maybe she was right after all, but does that even matter. If that is what he is concerned about, shouldn’t he just talk to me about it like any reasonable person.
“You know, I think its best you talk to him about it now before we arrive at the Pack. If we get there, he will be different, and very busy. Now could be your last chance.”
I nodded. “Yeah. I will talk to him.”
