CHAPTER FIFTY FIVE

**LIAM POV

"Your hair," I mumbled, staring at the new alteration, I had loved it when her hair was still red, now it's had three different colors, a small layer a black starting at the root, a deep shape of red at the middle that slowly rhyme with the copper red at the tip.

Her usually straight hair was all curly up and her make dark, bringing out the seriousness in her face.

She looked stunning, especially with the dress she had on. "Liam," She sweetly called, tilting her head a bit.

"You dazed off," She says, coming close to me. She frowned when she was close, her hand touching my head and immediately drawing away.

"You are running temperature," She mumbled. "It's nothing," I brush away, pulling my jacket and giving it to her to wear.

"Your look," I said, directing the conversation somewhere else. "It's to celebrate my inheritance, it's not every day you receive a billionaire's worth of inheritance," She snapped but didn't wear my jacket, only holding it close to her.

"Why, you don't like it?" She asked. "If I said I didn't, would you have changed it?" I questioned.

"Well, no," she replied, her sassy tone back. It was nice to see her lively and thus, I laughed.

"Well, I loved it, it looks good on you," I compliment. "Well, you had no choice," She mumbled, her eyes staring at me and her face changing.

"Liam," She called, rushing to me, her hand touched my shoulder for a while and she brought it out, it was covered with an unknown liquid.

"Everyone step out," She demanded. "Didn't you hear her," I yelled when they didn't move, causing them to rush out.

"Great Liam, your wounds have become infected, you need to go to the hospital," She announced when we were alone..

"I thought you wanted an alone time with me," I mumbled disappointed. "Relax, I can handle it," I assure but she wouldn't agree to it.

"Alright then, don't go to the hospital and I won't take my drugs for this evening," She threatened.

"And I won't go to the antenatal, whenever it comes around," She added, folding her hand's.

"You won't," I dated. "Then dare me, you have no hold on me," She mumbled. "You think?" I asked.

"I still have power,". .. "Well, I thought that power was to protect me not against me," She mumbled.

"It's just a simple trade though, go to the hospital and have it checked out or I won't do any of the things I said," She explained..

"Are you worried about me?" I asked. "Nope, I'm worried about me, I still need your power, I need it to protect myself and my unborn child," She snapped.

"My, it's the first time you are referring to this child as yours," I noted. "And your point is?" She asked.

"I like this new you, but this version is what you use for your siblings or anyone who dares to mess with you, when you are with me, you are free to cry, to cling on to me," I said.

"I would think about it," She mumbled. Now something was wrong, she wasn't herself, she seemed pissed about something.

"I spoke to Natalie today, at the step of your office," I brought up, the look in her face tell me it was the reason.

"Why do I care?" She asked when she had composed herself. "I know I shouldn't but she told me she had a tip, that they are going to mess with your brake, killing you just the way they did to your father," I informed.

"Really, it's none of my business, don't tell me this again," She snaps. "I'm waiting downstairs, don't delay," She informed, storming out..

Smiling, I followed suit, knowing it had an effect. When I eventually join her, she seems focused with her phone, seriously texting someone.

"Let's go," She mumbled. "Hold on," I called out, drawing her attention. "I'm the one driving,"

"But you are the sick one," She pointed atout, cutting in. "But anyway, it's fine," She mumbled, entering the car door I had opened.

I managed to drag myself to the front seat, entering and starting the car. "You are looking pale, are you sure you don't want me driving?" She asked, as I declined.

"And they say I'm the stubborn one," She grumbled. "Stubborn, who called you that?" I asked, knowing that I have on several terms called her stubborn.

She glared at me and then looked away. "Liam," She calmly called me. "I was wondering," She pauses. "Nevermind," She said.

"No, go on," I urged. "Don't worry," She still insisted. "Chelsea," I called, turning to look at her but the thing was I was seeing two of her.

Closing my eyes and reopening them, I could finally see clearly. "Are you alright?" She asked.

"Say what you want to say, I won't judge or get angry at you," I told her, ignoring her questions and I slowly returned to the road.

"You are driving quite slow today," She said. "I'm driving with a pregnant lady," I defended as she scoffed.

"Thank goodness we are almost there, I don't think I can stand you anymore," she muttered.

"Now I feel tempted to slow down," I said. "What, you are not going to argue," I asked, seeing her shutting away. The car was quiet once again.

She was closing her eyes and I presumed she was going to sleep. With the car being quiet, I find myself, somehow dozing off, constantly trying to stay away.

Slowly, I tap, to reach out for Chelsea. I couldn't tell whether my hands reached her or not, before I slumped to the steering wheel.

But somehow, she was aware, her hand desperately trying to wake me up. The noise was slowly fading, I couldn't tell whether she was panicking or not, I could see the tears running down her face.

"Liam, we will crash at this rate," She begged, those words were the last thing I heard.
