CHAPTER FIFTY FOUR

CHELSEA POV

"He is calling seriously," Emily commented after the phone rang for the tenth time. Luckily we were done shopping, having our hair done and eating.

"Do you plan on answering it?" She asked,as I stared at the mirror, admiring my hair. It was different, beautiful yet different, one that I couldn't explain.

"Of course I will answer, I still had a deal with him, my actions yesterday will make him think we are back to dating,"

"Plus he is helping me with the case and lastly, I'm carrying his child," I replied. "Chelsea," She called.

"I think it's weird that you keep referring to the child as his, you know he still have your gene,"

"But I was threatened to keep it," I cut in. "You already got the property, so the threat is practically invalid," She stated.

"So you're telling me that now I can have an abortion," I teased, watching her mouth drop.

"Chelsea," She yelled, her reaction making me laugh. "Relax, I know who I'm dealing with, he may not look at it, but he still has power over my inheritance even though I have claimed it and he can still do anything last minute," I explained, picking my phone and answering his call.

"Do you have any idea how long I have been trying to reach you?" He calmly asked, even with his calm tone, I could sense his frustration and anger.

"I told you that I would be with Emily," I reluctantly reminded. "You said in the evening but you were gone all through the morning," he argued.

"But I still ended up meeting Emily, why are you making it a big deal," I questioned, increasing my voice a bit. I knew he wouldn't want to push things further and I was writing, as he diverted the question to what I had eaten.

"Can I call you back later, I'm busy" I dismissed, ending the call. I didn't know whether it was the new makeover or the anger I still had in me but it created a new spark in me.

"But you are not busy," Emily muttered. "Since he doesn't want to be straight with me, I can decide when I want to see him or not," I said, yawning as I felt tired..

"You don't have to drop me, I will call Liam," I informed, knowing she had been finding a way to break the news.

Kelvin was finally free and I know how she wants to so badly go to him. "You might be sassy but I like that you still have a heart," she says, smiling a bit.

"You are an exception, you are the only one that didn't help set me up in a disaster, or fake their feelings just to ruin my life or maltreated me," I listed out.

"Then I'm honored," She playfully joined in, adding a classic bow. "Trust me, you are looking at the child because it's Liam's, but try and also look at the child as yours, if you were in its shoes and you found out your mother hated you before she got to know you, would you have liked it?" She asked.

I thought she had let it go but she simply brought it back, her questioning leaving me speechless as I stared back at my mirror, she left me to answer her call.

"Alright Chelsea, Dad said an important meeting came up and thus he won't be available for tomorrow, however he said if you still want to go ahead with the meal then he can cancel," She slowly informed..

"I don't mind, he can go on," I replied as she returned to her. "Alright, he says he would get you a teddy bear and a cake," she said.

"Almost like I don't exist in my father's eyes, he usually bribes me with this," She grumbled. "I will go with Liam today," I told her. *but," She objected but didn't complete her statement. "I will tell him you are coming," she muttered.

"Well I still have to drop you at Liam's office, Kelvin said they are handling the last meeting of the day," She tells me.

"This late," I mumbled, thankful not loud enough for her to hear. "Remember, if he does anything, call me, I will be there, even if I'm in the shower," She teased when we got to the car.

"Would you come with a towel or bare skin?" I joined in. "Anyone you want," She replied and we both laughed off.

Like Liam, she drives with intense speed or was it the excitement of seeing Kelvin that motivated her, I noticed she would blush from time to time.

She only apologized for the speed after we had arrived. "Alright, Liam said you shouldn't stop at the reception, just walk straight to his meeting room," She informed me, showing me her phone.

"And told you to fire anyone that dares to stop you," She added. Hearing that, I frown a bit, knowing he was only doing this to please me but then two can play the game.

"Alright, thank you," I said, coming down. Looking at the big building, I was a bit skeptical from entering but seeing my reflection, I gained a bit of courage, bargained in and did not stop till I stormed into the meeting room.

Everyone stopped to look at me except him. He was yet to know I was around, his head was resting a bit, maybe half asleep.

He didn't sleep much yesterday so I could expect him to be tired. I signal the man to continue but it was too late, he had perceived the quiet environment, slowly raising his head.

"What did I say about stopping?" He yelled, his voice so loud that I flinched. "I thought you promised not to raise your voice when I'm around?" I asked back, watching him slowly tilt his head to me.

He immediately stood up, his eyes scanning me from head to toe. "Chelsea, is that you?" He asked surprised.

"What if it's me?" I asked back.
