Chapter 140

Adrian's POV

She really left me. I could not believe it.

I stared at the handwritten letter in my hands and could barely make out the words written in it, except for the ‘goodbye’ at the end.

How did she expect me to take this in? I was not going to. I had no plans of doing so.

If she really thought I was going to back down and not chase her at this point, then she was in for a little joy ride. Not only was she leaving, she was also taking my child with her and I was not going to accept that. She did not have a right to do that. She was going to have to come back quickly.

I sincerely hoped that she did not mean what she said, but could I blame her though? Not necessarily.

I wonder where she was headed.

Andrew put men on me. There was every possibility that he did the same to her.

Did she think to take any sort of precautionary measures before setting out?

I sincerely hoped she did.

She was gone, like she was never here.

There was some food in the fridge and clean clothes on the bed.

I could not get her back, not with the limited resources that I had.

My head was beginning to ache and I felt my chest getting constricted.

Mia did not have to do this to me. How could she do this? How could she take us down through this path once more?

I only stepped out for a minute and she was gone. That was devastating.

I called Christian’s phone, while packing some clothing.

I went out, looking around my vehicle to make sure there were no trackers. My eyes looked towards the window and I saw what I looked like.

I had fought with the man that followed me, knocking him out. He was strong. I knew it in his punches.

It made me realize I had a lot of training to do and I could only do that sort of training if I was in the midst of my people.

I had gotten weaker and that has never been a good thing. I had to up my game.

He punched me severally, but thankfully, I knew a trick that could decapitate a man instantly and it worked on him.

He was instantly passed out.

I did not want him following me home again and whoever he was working with had to know by now that he was off the radar. That person, whoever they are, was going to leave Mia for a moment and that was my end goal.

I went back in to clean up, wiping my lips and applying some balm on it. It would heal better that way.

If anything happened to them, it would be my fault alone. I had put Mia in this situation, in this condition.

I did this. Myself. I did this by even taking a second look at her and wanting her. If I did not want her, then all of this would not have happened in the first place. And now, there was a baby involved.

The only thing I could do at this point was go back to the mansion. All the needed resources were going to be there and off I went.

I went out, looked through my car for any sort of trackers available and I found one.

It was extremely small, but I found it still. I smirked as I crushed it with my foot.

That made me upset. They had treated me like I was a fool and I was now more than upset.

I drove through the road, taking the long journey back to the mansion.

It was a nice one and I felt the wind go through my hair as I sped through.

I only wished Mia was here with me. But she did not want this life. Not anymore. Not after what she went through with me trying to fight off Alexei.

She definitely did not want it for her child too, so there was no convincing her. I had to make sure to put all of these people in their place and make sure they remain there and know there while remaining there.

They needed to learn, to be taught a lesson, one way or the other.

With the speed I used, I got to the mansion in no time and the gates were opened.

A lot of the workers came out to give their respects. I was surprised.

I wanted my coming back here to be on the low. Apparently, Christian did not think so.

The gates were shut behind me and immediately I got down, Christian walked up to me, grinning from ear to ear.

“Boss! It is so good to have you back with us. I am so glad you are here. Is it just you?” He said excitedly, before proceeding to peek into the car to ask the question.

“That is why I am here. How are the trainings coming up. I think I would be needing those men soon.”

“Oh. I do hope they are in perfect condition sir?*

“I hope so too.” I responded

Then, he had the look of realisation on his face.

“They are not lost, are they?”

I shrugged my shoulders, indicating I had little idea.

“Come on now! Get to work, people!” He said authoritatively and with squared up shoulders too.

‘Wow!’ I almost exclaimed. I always knew he had it in him. But to see him actually being a leader? It was a wholly different thing altogether. I was proud.

He was conducting business in the way that I had showed him to.

Some men came up to the car, asking that I unlock the car boot and I did.

He took my bags in and some ladies followed after him.

“So, I think I might need a trainer. You have anyone in mind?”

“Oh really? I think I do, and guess what? You would like him.” he said the last bit, smirking.

Nope. No. I did not like that at all.
