Chapter 128

Adrian's pov.

The meeting held briefly but we all spoke on the basics and most important things. It was held in a warehouse just a range from the last one that was burnt down entirely. I had fixed personal goals that I wanted to achieve at all cost.

The meeting was held with all of us sat around a wide table. We were not many neither were we small. I'd find young men to recruit after my goal was achieved.

Simon sat far away from me, i had plans for all that betrayed me when alexxie was still around. And Simon was one of them. Even though I inclusively spoken about being nothing like my father, there were just certain situations i had to take care of. With Mia and my unborn baby around, i had to do everything in my power to keep them safe. Just as i promised.

There was just about ten of them that turned their back against me just like Simon did. Maybe he had them all connected and planned out in a way.

"Two of our warehouses have been completely taken out. One of them was burnt out completely and the other is in a bad state. It'd be a silly thing to still operate there knowing everyone knows we had business there. I've gotten my hands on two new warehouses which will not be disclosed to anyone for now ",i looked at Simon who scratched something on his chin and looked at me.

"Sir but when are we going to resume work resume business if this new warehouses cannot be disclosed". Another man said, he was among the people that betrayed me.

I smiled at him. Only one who was ready to make backlashes would be so eager to work. These were the set of boys I'd take care of. They were on my list.

"Let's not be eager to start operations yet. Alot would be done to build this new empire and I'd make sure of it. We already have businesses we need to take care but we will make every attempt to start operations immediately"i said and a rectangle on the desk.

When the meeting was over i dismissed everyone else and had a new set of men on the table with me. They were all on dark shades and dark suits and wore serious faces. These were my new boys and we had plans to eliminate those that betrayed me in the last battle.

"There are about ten of them that pose as a threat to my new empire. To the new future I'm raising. I cannot seat on the same table with them and pretend that everything is fine. they stabbed me without shame and I cannot let them leave. this is a new beginning for me and for everyone that I lost in the past. " .

I slid a piece of paper to one of them. He picked it up and read the contents of the paper aloud. It was the names of all that betrayed me, they were going to be taken out of the picture.

He nodded in approval and slid the paper to the rest of his Men. They were now on my side. I had personally recruited them, so they'd replace the rest of them I'd eliminate.

The meeting was over and I called it a day. It was exactly 6pm when we finished.

Simon waited outside for me with some other guys. He casually drove me back home on some days and lately he had made that a priority. Just so that I could forget all he did to me.

We drove in silence for a moment before he spoke;

"Can't wait to start working in the new warehouse" he said all excited on the wheel.

I was going through something on my phone when he spoke

"Mhmm" i muttered unknowingly.

"Is it still in New York?".

"Hopefully we'd find out"i said. I was tired of the conversation with him. "Everything that needs to be done has to be done and will be done".

He drove in silence once more, i hoped he already understood what i was talking about. In no time we arrived and I rushed in to see mia. I always had anxiety attacks of her leaving. So the first place I headed to was her room. She was fast asleep.

It must be the pregnancy wearing her off. I quietly sat beside her and touched her hair, her soft plump place. I was suddenly happy, i liked her presence. But I wouldn't tell her of my plans to eliminate Simon and the rest. Mia shrugged in bed and in no time her eyes were open.

"Adrian"she called with a sleepy voice. I held her hands and helped her sit up.

"How are you feeling?"i asked her.

"I'm fine but... alot happened while you were away today".

"What? Did anyone do to you "i asked even more worried.

"Sophia was here. Mom was here and Jake. They all wanted me to leave but...i don't want to "she said and pushed my face away.

"Please don't go Mia. I'm really trying hard for you. Please do not go"i begged again.

"I'm not leaving Adrian. I'm not leaving you. I trust you now to protect me, you won't let anything happen to me and the child".

"Have you had anything to eat?"

"Yes Adrian. You should rest. I'm not going to run Away "she laughed.

"I know, but I'm still worried about you. I just want you to be fine ".

"I'm fine. I feel sleepy, and I might just be hungry like you've been talking about ". We laughed and i kissed her hands.

I placed her back to sleep and left the room. I quietly left her to sleep. At least she was on the same side with me and didn't feed into all that was being said to her . I was going to protect her with all my might.
