Chapter 197 A dangerous game.
Eve POV

"What the hell did you just do, Richard? Why did you invade my privacy? What mission did you have with me? Why did you have to question the nurse about my condition? You have no right to do that, Richard!"

I said to him as I was feeling very frustrated right now. Who does he think he is to question the nurse about my personal condition? Now he knows my secrets, and I can't just let him go like that. I thought to myself as I immediately walked closer to him.

"You would have to pay for what you have done right now, Richard. You know my secret is a bad thing for you, and I will make sure that nobody here finds out. The best thing for you to do right now is just to keep your mouth shut. I don't want to hear about my condition from anybody else. If you don't keep your mouth shut, you wouldn't like what I would do to you, Richard."

I threatened him as he just looked at me and scoffed.

"What do you think, Eve? I'll be scared of you? What's more, what can you do to me? You can't do anything to me. After all, I only questioned the nurse about your condition. Because you, you also used to go to different measures to find out secrets about people. I only wanted to know your weak point. That was why I questioned the nurse."

"If you wanted to know about someone's weak point, you would have gone to much greater lengths to find out about it. Even if it means killing someone in the process, you would have done so. But I did not kill anybody. I only questioned the nurse about your condition, and she told me freely. I did not even threaten her."

He said to me as I looked at him, already flaring up.

"Just shut the hell up, Richard! What the hell are you saying? What is your business with me? Why are you looking for my weakness? I'm warning you. Just stop what you are doing right now. I don't want to hear about this from anybody. You must not tell anybody about this. Only you will know. Like what I am going to do to you."

I continued threatening him as he just laughed out loud.

"What do you think? If I would be scared of you? Never. I'll never ever be scared of you. After all, you are just a lady. And do you think I'll be scared of you? That you're going to do something to me? I'll never ever be scared of you. If so, just keep your threats to yourself."

I looked at him, bewildered.

"What the hell? Why is Richard behaving like this? What is giving him this courage?"

I thought to myself.

"Okay, since you don't want to heed my warnings, I have no other choice. I promise you, you're not going to leave this hospital alive, Richard."

I plotted out to him as he just looked at me, a flicker of something unusual showing in his eyes as he smiled.

"Don't worry, Eve, you will not be able to do anything to me. After all, you don't even have up to two months in this world to live. And besides, do you think I am the lion? Do you think you can just kill me just the way you killed the lion? I know that you have a hand in the lion's death and you can't threaten me if I'm not one of those people that you would just threaten. And you think I’ll get afraid?"

He said to me as I looked at him, stunned.

"What do you mean? How dare you talk about my father? He is dead, for crying out loud! Why can't you even respect the dead? Why do you have to bring up my father's matter? And why would I even kill my dad? I loved him so much. After all, he took me in and raised me. He gave me everything a father would give his child. So how dare you talk about him in that manner? I did not tell you to speak ill of my father. Respect the dead. And I promise you, the next time you talk about my father in that manner, you would not like yourself, Richard."

"And now since you don't want to heed my warning, there is nothing more I can do. Just remember, you're not going to leave this hospital alive."

I said to him as I immediately walked out of his presence. I didn’t want to stand in front of him; just the mere sight of him was annoying me a lot. As I strolled towards the hospital exit, I immediately pulled out my phone and dialed the number.

"James, I need you to do something for me right now. I need you to get someone dead today. It must not pass today. I want that person dead right now."

"But, Mom, I have another job I'm working on right now, so I can't do that for you. At least not today. Maybe tomorrow, very early."

"No, I want it done today. That person must not live to see the next day. You have to kill him right now, right this minute."

I spoke into the speaker as the man just looked at me and said,

"Fine, Mom, I'll see what I can do."

He said before hanging up as I got into my car, waiting for Richard to make his next move.

I had been waiting here for over hours, and now it was getting dark. I thought Richard wouldn't come out of the hospital tonight, and I was worried that my plans would fail. I can't possibly kill him inside the hospital; there are CCTV cameras everywhere, and my secret will be exposed. I can only wait for him to come out since James has not arrived yet. I have to do this job and watch him so he won’t leave the hospital.

I thought to myself as I just sat inside my car, playing with my phone. I was getting bored and tired already. As I was about to give up, I checked the time, and it was already past. Then, when I was about to give up all hope that Richard was actually going to come out of the hospital, I saw him walk out.

As I immediately got alert, I dialed James's number.

"Where the hell are you? I told you to get here right now. He's already leaving the hospital."

I said into the speaker.

"Just help me follow him. I need to know his location."

"I'll be with you shortly. I'm on my way already."

James said into the speaker as I hung up the phone and immediately followed Richard's car as he was already driving away.

I followed quietly behind him, not letting him notice that he was being followed. Then, immediately Richard got home. I was about to give up hope when I thought he was going to drive into his compound. Then suddenly, a car drove right in front of Richard's car, blocking his path from entering into his house.

I was overjoyed knowing that it was James. Then immediately, I heard a commotion. The car rushed away as fast as it came, disappearing just as quickly. I was shocked.

"Was that fast? Finally, I have gotten Richard out of the way?"

I thought to myself as I immediately also drove out of his compound, not wanting to stay there any longer.

"Now finally Richard is out of the way. Now I just have to deal with Melissa. That will be easy to manage. Richard has been the one blocking my way from dealing with Melissa. Now that he's out of the way, Melissa is just a piece of cake for me."

I thought to myself as I smiled inwardly.

"I'm really sorry, Richard. I didn't want to do this to you. After all, killing you wasn't part of my plan. I did not even want to hurt you because you did not mean anything to me. I did not plan it straight. But you knowing my secrets is something I can't overlook. I can't let or watch you get out that I am really sick and I don't have less than two months to live. No, Richard, I can't let you do that. So you just have to die. Even though this was never part of my plan, you have to die. Since you won't listen to any of my warnings, this is the only option I have. Killing you is the only way out for me. Richard."

I thought to myself as I kept on driving.
