Chapter 196 Confrontations in the hall.
Chapter 196 Confrontations in the hall.
Richard POV
"Eve has cancer. I can't just believe it. No, someone like Eve can't possibly have cancer after everything she has been doing. The way she has been acting all agile... So she really has cancer, and she had kept it for this long. No wonder she was keeping a lot of things hidden and she was hiding a document the other day. Maybe it was really a test result. How could Eve possibly have cancer? How could someone like her possibly have cancer? She has money; she could have treated it. Why is it this chronic? And why is she visiting the hospital so frequently now? So cancer has even gotten to the fourth stage?"
I couldn't seem to comprehend this. Then someone beside me just tapped me.
"Excuse me, mister, the water is overflowing already."
As I immediately jolted back to realization at the water dispenser.

Eve POV
"I need to leave the hospital right now, doctor."
"But you have to stay in the hospital for a few more days. You have to take medications."
"Please just stop convincing me to take medication. I don't want to anymore. You already told me that I don't have much longer to live. Why do I still need to waste my money on taking medications? I don't want to, and I... I am living right now."
"If you just listen to me, you have to take medications just to sustain you. You can't possibly do this to yourself. You still have to take the medication. Even though you don't have long to live, at least it will make you healthy. You are breaking down already, and it's showing physically on your body."
"I don't care!"
I yelled at the doctor, not wanting to listen to any of his gibberish again. Immediately a nurse walked in and approached us directly. I didn't even pay more attention to her as I said,
"You have to prepare my discharge papers right now, doctor. I don't want to stay another minute in this hospital. I don't want anybody finding out about my condition."
Immediately the nurse looked at me as I looked at her.
"What? What do you want?"
I yelled, feeling very angry, not wanting to stay in this hospital another minute. I hated it here.
"I'm really sorry, ma'am. I didn't mean to interrupt. But the man that just came here right now, he said it was your boyfriend. He felt really concerned about you. When I asked to tell him about your condition because he asked me pleadingly, he told me that he loves you a lot and that you have been hiding your illness from him. He was even on the verge of crying when I told him about your illness."
"What did you just say?"
Then the next thing I did was slap the nurse across the face.
"How dare you! How dare you! I told you clearly not to tell anybody about my condition. How dare you tell someone at random? Who told you that it was my boyfriend? I don't have a boyfriend! He just said that to get information out of you. How could you be so naive?"
I immediately turned to the doctor.
"You didn't tell me that you guys at this hospital can't even keep something as confidential as that. How could your nurse just blurt out my condition to a stranger?"
"I'm sorry, ma'am, but it felt like your boyfriend. He even spoke like your boyfriend. He was all emotional when I told him about your condition. That was why I believed him."
"What is his name?"
I glared at her with fury burning in my eyes as she was shivering in fear, already holding her cheeks, which had started turning red. But I did not care.
"I'm sorry, ma'am, but he didn't tell me his name."
She said to me as I looked at her, frustrated.
"I'm knitting around my hands to my—how could you be so careless? I personally told the doctor to tell all the nurses not to tell anybody about my condition. I could just go around blabbing out my condition to anyone. Someone you didn't even know. Did I ever tell you I have a boyfriend? You shouldn't have told him about my condition. Now you don't even know his name!"
"I'm sorry, ma'am. I did not mean to. I forgot to ask him his name. But I can describe him to you."
I immediately calmed down.
"Start describing," I said to her.
"He has tall stature and has dark curly hair."
Only the dark curly hair that I had made me realize who it was. I could not mistake him for another person.
"It was Richard."
Richard was the only person who had dark curly hair that I knew about. Someone that did not even know me would never have asked about my condition. Surely it was Richard.
I thought to myself as I immediately ran out of the room, thinking that I would catch up to him easily since he might not have gone far. I ran through the hallway. Then I saw him by the water dispenser getting water.
As I immediately walked up to him in the hallway, I saw him move away from the water dispenser, heading towards the corridor. I continued following him.
Then soon enough, I called out his name.
"Richard!"
I think he already knew that it was me. Definitely, he was the one that had asked about my condition, seeing the way he reacted.
Then he walked a little bit forward before I called out his name again.
"Richard!"
This time I called angrily.
Then he stopped and turned to me.
"Eve. Wow. You are here."
He said, then I glared at him with fury burning in my eyes.
“You tricky foool!!” I said unable to control myself…he won’t be able to escape me no matter what mostly now that he knows my secret and that’s just too much to know.
