Chapter 9

Chapter 9
Travis

“No she isn't, I don't know. That's just a story.”

“Then what is your problem? The mate bond is something we cherish, and now I just want us to reject her.”

“I can't sit around and watch my two sons become laughing sticks because their mate is disabled.”

“You know what, dad, maybe you and mom should go back on vacation. Tristan and I got it all taken care of here.”

He just took off running after that. I gave him a little time to cool off, then caught up to him.

“Listen Travis, I know you're angry, but.”

“I don't want to talk about it. Are you free tonight? I would like for us to all go out for dinner around eight. I'll stop by the hospital and let Sitara know.”

“I'm cool with that. What's up is something wrong.”

“No, I just want us to talk about something you know.”

“Ok.”

After that intense run with Tristan, I had to head to work. Today, I'm on patrol, so that means I'll be about the backgrounds with some of my warriors, making sure everything is safe.

While taking a walk through the forest, I happen to see my Beta. He's standing talking to someone.

Scratch that he is leaning into someone if I had to guess it would be his mate. Why not play a little trick on him then.

“Daniel, is this what you're supposed to be doing? The pack could be under attack, and you will be locking lips with a stranger.”

“I'm sorry, Alpha, I haven't seen my mate in …”

“Is that an excuse I'm hearing Daniel?”

“No sir, Alpha, sir.”

“It's not his fault, Alpha, I just.. I haven't seen him in two days.. I couldn't resist.”

“Is that so Mariah?”

“Yes Alpha.”

“I'm sorry, Alpha.”

“I'm just playing with you, Danel.”

Mariah leaves us, and we continue walking through the forest, checking our surroundings.

“From what I heard this morning, your parents aren't too happy with your mate ?”

“Eavesdropping much ?”

“No, I was going to meet up with Tristan but stopped when I heard the argument.”

“Ohh.. it's weird though my father has never spoken about anyone like that before.”

“I know, something is definitely up.”

“Yeah but what could it be? It has to be something they're not telling us. Travis thinks she could be the girl from my mother's story. You know the lost Luna from the crimshaw pack.”

“Well have you thought about it? Maybe she could be.”

“I highly doubt that.”

The day went by quickly once I had finished patrolling with Daniel. I went home and got ready for dinner with my brother and my mate.

Mom and dad weren't home when I got there, and honestly, I was more than happy, I couldn't handle another argument before going to dinner.

Tristan and I rode together. The car was silent from where I picked him up straight to the restaurant. Thank goodness.

After parking, I stood outside and waited for Sitara, and Tristan went ahead and got us a table. About five minutes later, her father drops her off in front of the restaurant.

“You look beautiful.”

“Am… thanks, so do you. Is Tristan here, or do we have to wait outside for him?”

“No, he is inside. He went to get a table.”

“Hey, the table is ready, this way.”

As we followed behind her hands brushed against mine lightly, all the hairs on my body stood at attention. The thought of holding her hand plagued me, but I'm not sure if she was ready for that.

Once we got to our seats, Sitara sat opposite the both of us. The waiter brought over our menus and told us she would be back in ten minutes to take our order.

“So, how was work today?”

“It was ok, I gave my first injection today.”

“You administered your first shot today is what you mean to say .”

Tristan said, and I couldn't help but roll my eyes at him. See, Tristan has this thing he dies where he constantly has to correct someone.

“How did the patient take it? Did your hand shake ?”

I asked.

“Goddess I hope not. You do know you could break the needle in someone's arms.”

“I know, and no, I didn't shake, well, just a little, but the patient said it was painless.”

“That's great.”

I said.

“So what was it you both wanted to talk to me about? Did I do something wrong again?”

“Heck no sweet cheeks, you could never do wrong in our eyes.”

Tristan cleared his throat.

“Well in my eyes.”

I threw him an eye roll and signaled the waiter who was heading in our direction.

“What would you three be having tonight?”

“Three chicken pastas, please, one chicken, one lobster and one shrimp, thank you.”

Tristan begins as soon as the waiter walks away.

“So, as you know, you're mated to the both of us. We're brothers and your Alphas, and we would not be doing three-somes.”

Sitara almost choked on her water, I was totally taken aback by the statement. Leave it up to him to make that statement.

“So I propose we have days, days where we have you to ourselves and if we chose to do anything as a group we do it on a sunday.”

“That's OK with me, I would just like to request one day for myself. You know me time.”

“I'm cool with that.”

“Same here.”

“So how about I take Monday, Friday and the morning half of saturday.”
Tristan said.

“I'll have Tuesday, Thursday and the evening half of Saturday. You can have Wednesdays for yourself and Sundays. We do stuff together. If anyone would like it as their personal time, they request it.”

“Sounds good.”

Satara said.

“Your meals…”
The waiter placed our meals in front of us and left after we said thank you.

“I'd like for you to meet my wolf. His name is Bran. He's brown in color with black eyes and a deep voice, he can't wait to meet you.:

“.. ok, I'd love to meet him as well. What's the time if you don't mind me asking.”

“It almost nine (9pm)

She shifts a little in her seat and pulls her phone from her back pocket. She sets it down on the table in front of her.

“Expecting a call from someone important.”

Tristan asked.

“Ohh..no at nine (9 pm) one of the books in a series I'm reading drops and u want to be one of the first to buy.”

“Ohhhh.. So you're into books, what kind ?”

“Romance novels, mystery novels, you know the works.”

“Hmm.. and what are you currently reading ?”

I asked.

“You wouldn't like it even if I told you.”

“You didn't tell us, so would you know if we would like it ?”

Tristan said, and I couldn't help but be intrigued.

“It's a book about a young couple..”

“It's filled with smut, isn't it?”

Her face went as red as a cherry, and I couldn't help but burst out laughing. Our quiet little girl reads about smut.

Tristan looks at his watch and then up at her and says while cutting through his lobster pieces.

“It's nine, go on, and order your book.”

He sends a cheeky smile in her direction, and she is all nuts bolted in her seat.

“Stop teasing the girl.”

He laughs a little, and it takes me by surprise. It even took Sitara by surprise because she couldn't stop looking at him.

But just as soon as that smile creeped up on his face, anger did too. I also was about to get angry because if he was about to come with so….

He slams his fork against the table, startling Sitara and passing me off.

“What are you doing here, mom?”

“You two deliberately disobey your Luna. I told you to reject this orphan and what it you're doing is sitting down having dinner in public.”

“Mom don't do it. Please just leave, and we will finish this at home.”

“I'm not leaving until you reject her.”

Mom stamped her feet on the floor, and Trustan roared loudly, his chest falling and rising.

“You dear, raise your voice at me.”

She tried slapping him but missed.

“Sutara , it looks like you're not suitable enough for my boys. You're of a low rank and low status. Being with them would do them no good.”

“I'm sorry.”

Sitara grabs her phone and leaves the restaurant, while mom and Tristan stear each other dead in the eyes.
