The front gate of the Red Darkling was full of chaos, curses from pack members who gathered here to ask for an explanation. They all seemed mad as they demanded aggressively to let Hades, face them directly. On the stairs, Hades was climbing down from the second floor. Upon listening to what was happening outside, Cohen was worried for him. He tried to stop him in a weak voice,
" My king! Listen to me! Maybe I should talk to them instead of you!"

Hades halted between his tracks and shot a glare at Cohen,
" Why? You are scared that they will kill me? Cohen, I know that I was wrong this time but I am trying to repay. Besides, who are they to protest in front of my castle? I have to see....."

Moments afterwards, the front door was pushed open widely with Hades's kingly presence that stunned everyone for a second. Actually, they didn't expect that Hades would dare to show up so easily. His cold eyes swiped past the people. He recognized most of them as they were Edwina's neighborhood pack and her own pack. Although Alpha Artemis was convinced to come here, he was staying behind. A part of him said that it wasn't a good idea to rebel without any proper evidence.

Hades's cold voice echoed in the air, reaching each one of them,
" Don't forget that I am your king. Before pointing your fingers at me, you must know both sides of the story. Tell me, why are you all here against me?"

Alpha Demon sneered first, replied with a growl,
" King Hades, do you dare to say that you haven't punished Alpha Edwina wrongly? We know that you hold her and her entire pack responsible for your mate's death even given 2 months to prove themselves. Then why are you torturing our innocent Alpha when she has done no wrong?"

Alpha Ares joined in, his eyes glowing yellow, showing his beast side,
" You have to answer us or else, the matter will be handled by the Councilmen."

Hades's face lost its color. It wasn't that he was scared of the councilmen but someone actually dared to impose a threat on him, right in front of his castle. Alpha Artemis stayed behind the crowd. He was less interested in this chaos and kept peering at the doorway to see Edwina for once. It had been a long time since he had seen her last.

How was his precious daughter doing?

Hades growled, his wolf infuriated and dying to snap out to show this Alpha his position,
" Are you threatening me? Who are you to threaten me? It looks like I will have to remind you who you are dealing with. "

The moment after those words came out, a strong wave of power surged in the air. King Hades had given control to his wolf who let out his kingly aura, forcing everyone to kneel down. Hades's voice no longer sounded like a human. It was more like an animalistic voice with power and domination,
" Whatever happens in my castle has nothing to do with pack Alphas. How dare you come to rebel in front of your king?"

The strong wave of power forced everyone to bow themselves in front of their king. Alpha Demon, Alpha Ares all were on his knees but they didn't stop throwing accusations at him,
" You don't deserve to be the king when you are all doing it is unfair."

" ALPHA ARES!"

Edwina was rushing downstairs as soon as she heard the commotion, happening outside with the maids. Although her legs were wobbly from last night's passionate encounter, she forced herself to run faster than before.

On her way, she bumped into Angelina who was already there to observe anything. Her rage flared up as soon as she saw Edwina's anxious face. Angelina didn't hold back her rage and shouted in the presence of those maids,
" You....how dare you come down at this moment? Don't you know that all this is happening because of you? Those Alphas are here to confront our king. How dare you act so pitiful when you are the reason behind all these dramas?"

Edwina had no time to argue with Angelina at this moment. She ignored her question before attempting to walk away,
" Step aside! I have to face them! Move!"

But Angelina wasn't going to let this happen. She was already so mad with jealousy that she could barely stand her sight. She blurted firmly, blocking Edwina's path from going to the king,
" NO!! I can't let any disaster fall on the king because of you. Go back to your room, Edwina. I am ordering you. You can't face the rebellions. "

Angelina's tone was proud and arrogant as if she were talking to a servant. She was ready to push her out but Edwina's Alpha aura suddenly turned on. Her eyes emit an aura of superiority at Angelina before speaking in a loud voice,
" Who are you to order me, Mistress Angelina? I can go wherever I want unless the king forbids me. Don't forget that I am also the king's Mistress. Watch your tongue and step..aside..from my path..."

The maids all gasped in horror and had to lower their heads instinctively. Because this time, she wasn't only talking with the power of the king's Mistress but also a by-born Alpha who was born to rule over others. Even Angelina had to take her eyes off respectively, her wolf turning submissive.

She gritted her teeth together and stepped aside from Edwina's path. Eventually, Edwina ran outside first, not having the time to deal with them anymore. As soon as she ran out, she gasped in shock to see her neighborhood packs who were her allies. As for Hades, he was already emitting his beastly aura, ready to pounce on Alpha Ares who dared to insult him.

Edwina let out a shrill cry to stop the fight before it could take over,

" STOP! PLEASE!"

All the eyes landed on the woman who just ran out in her nightgown. From a beastly human, Hades transformed into a gentleman. He instinctively growled, worrying for her health which hadn't recovered fully yet,
" Why did you come?"

Edwina ignored her rage and went forward to stand in front of the crowd. Although she looked healthy, those Alphas could see through the pain that she felt last night. They had incredible abilities to judge another Alpha. Alpha Demon roared angrily, not caring about Hades's wrath anymore,
" Alpha Edwina! Do not be afraid! We are here for you. Just tell us, what did he do to you? There is always someone above the king."

Edwina skimmed her gaze across the crowd blankly. Although, she was happy to see how genuine her friends were but at the same time, she couldn't bear to see Hades, getting disrespected because of her. Maybe in her heart, she had already accepted him as her king and was acting loyal to him without her own subconscious thought.

She phrased her words carefully just like the time when she used to communicate with her pack members,
" Dear Friends, I am grateful to all of you who have gathered here to show your concern for me. But, there are a few things that I would like to clarify for all of you. You have no reason to confront King Hades like this. He wasn't at fault for punishing me."

Hades was stunned, pulling his eyes back at her. It was her best chance to escape this abduction easily. Yet, she chose to defend him? Why? She could just tell the entire truth to everyone and could free herself from his hostage.

Edwina continued lowering her voice,
" I did something to offend the king. But he took care of me and I was healed faster. I hope that no one puts blame on the king unreasonably. After all, he is the king to all of us."

The entire crowd fell into dead silence after Edwina revealed the truth. They looked at each other and felt ashamed to make a ruckus without knowing the truth. Alpha Ares softened his voice before speaking,
" Alpha Edwina...but..we were informed that you are being tortured here. Are you.. really telling the truth.."

Edwina shot him a glance, raised her brows suspiciously,
" I am standing right in front of your eyes. Who do you think, you should believe? Me or someone else?"

Alpha Ares was wordless again. With Edwina's presence, everything went under control. The rebellions started to get up from the ground slowly and bowed apologizing to the king. Just when Alpha Ares thought of giving Hades a proper apology, Edwina noticed something from the crowd. Out of nowhere, an arrow was shot, aiming straight towards Hades's chest.

She let out a cry of shock, jumping forward without thinking,
" KING HADES! "
