AURORA'S POV
When after a lot of trying, I can't get a hold of Jacob I decide to ask Parker's help because he may look like a dumb person but I know how sharp-minded he is. So, without wasting much time I dial his number and thankfully he doesn't disappoint me.
"Hello, who is this?" Parker asks over the phone.
"It's me, Aurora and I need your help asap." I reply hurriedly.
"BOSS! WHERE ARE YOU AND WHAT'S GOING ON?" He yells making me flinch.
"Keep quiet and listen to me." I tell him before giving him a short summary of what happened and why I am asking for his help.
"Holy shit? I feel like I am seeing/hearing some mysterious movie."
Comes his reply making me roll my eyes.
"If you are done then can I tell you what you need to do?" I ask rubbing my forehead
"Oh, sorry! Yes, tell me how can I help you?" He says.
"You need to contact Nicholas and tell him everything | just told you.
Also, you need to tell him that he needs to do something to solve this problem because I can't do anything by myself." I reply.
"Okay, I will do it. But I am worried about you. What if that crazy lady does something bad to you?" He asks and I can understand his worry.
"I won't say that everything will be alright but I do know that I will not back out without a fight. So, stop worrying about me and do as I have told you to do." By saying this I cut the call before he can say anything.
Although I'm using the hotel's telephone, I don't want to take any risk.
Because that lady is clearly a psycho or why she would threaten a child.
Now, I just need to wait for Paker to inform Nicholas about everything and hopefully I will be able to get back to my old life.
I decide to take a shower to relax my mind as I still have 15 minutes till the blackmailer calls me. So, without wasting time I get inside the washroom and stripes out of my clothes. It only takes me 10 minutes to shower and then I wear a cotton pajama set that I have brought along with me.
Just as I sit on the bed, my phone starts ringing indicating that my half an hour is up. I pick up the call without looking at the caller ID thinking it's the blackmailer but gets shocked hearing Jacob's voice.
"Jacob...
" I let out in relief.
"Where have you gone, Aurora? I have come to your apartment but the door is locked from the outside. Why haven't you gone to meet Nicholas in the hospital or you don't even know about his accident?" Jacob asks in a go.
I want to tell him everything but I can't do it over the phone because I know that the blackmailer must be tracking all the calls and messages on my phone. So, I have to lie to Jacob.
"I can't talk to you now because I am busy." That's all I say before disconnecting the call.
I put the phone on the nightstand and start thinking about what 1 am going to do next. The blackmailer told me to send her my live location but if I do that then she will know I am lying being in China Town.
Oh God! Now, what am I supposed to do?
Just then my phone starts ringing again and when I look at the caller ID to see that it's a private number it means it's the blackmailer. I take a deep breath and pick up the call.
"Send me your live location asap." The blackmailer says making me gulp. But instantly a brilliant idea comes to my mind which can save some time for me to formulate my next plan.
I smash my phone on the floor breaking it. Not only that, I also decide to be brave and go back to my apartment. I can't be any more scared of a person whom I don't even know. If I keep getting scared, then she will keep threatening me to do whatever she wants but I will not let that happen.
I quickly check out of the hotel and get inside the cab which I have booked beforehand. I am directly not going to my apartment, 1 am going to mom and dad's place because if that crazy person can harm Nicholas then she can harm mom and dad too which I won't let happen.
1 am sure by now Parker has able to inform Nicholas about my situation.
So l can care less what the psychopath will do as 1 am sure Nicholas will handle her.
After a few hours, I reach mom and dad's place which shocks them as they are not aware of my arrival. But after I explain everything to them, they get relaxed as well as worried for the safety of everyone.
"Can you guess who can threaten you to break up with Nicholas? Maybe he has some crazy ex who wants him back as we saw in movies." Dad remarks after handing me a cup of coffee.
"I don't know about any of his exes but I have a lot of people in mind who can be the blackmailer. Yet, I can't pinpoint one name." I answer with a sigh.
"Forget about the blackmailer for now and tell me what you want to eat for dinner." Mom asks putting her hands on my shoulders.
"I am not in the mood to eat anything. I want to meet Nicholas." I let out while tears well up in my eyes just the thought of him in the hospital just because of me.
"You will get to meet him soon. I have already texted Jacob about you being here so I am sure he is coming here." Dad says just as the doorbell ring.
I feel scared thinking it may be the blackmailer or some of her goons who are here to trouble me. But I let out a sigh of relief when Jacob and Arthur walk into the living room.
I run straight to Jocob's arms who hold me tightly against his chest. One by one tears escape from my eyes and | let them because I don't want to hide anything. I have my family with me so I won't let any fear hold me back.
"Are you alright, Aurora?" Jacob asks when I pull away from the hug.
"I am now that I am here," I reply to him truthfully before looking at Arthur.
"I am very sorry to create problems for you." I let out feeling guilty.
"What do you mean?" Arthur asks looking confused.
"I was blackmailed by an unknown lady to break up with Nicholas and if I did not do what she was saying then she would hurt my loved ones. At first, I did not believe her but then she sent me a video of Aiden who received something from a man and started crying badly. That's when I realized that I needed to do what that crazy lady was saying." I reply making his eyes widen.
"Don't tell me she also told you to leave the town." Jacob remarks while I nod my head in response.
"Fucking shit!" Jacob curses loudly getting a smack behind the head from mom.
"Keep your language in control, youngman." Mom says sternly.
"Sorry, mom." Jacob mumbles.
"Does Nicholas's accident also related to the blackmailer?" Arthur asks.
"Actually, he got into the accident right after I broke up with him. The blackmailer told me that she wanted me to know if I did not do what she
told me to do then she would do more harm. Nexr, she told me to leave San Francisco but did not mention where to go. So, I went to Marina town and stayed in a hotel. However, when she asked me where I was, I realized that she wasn't able to track me. So I took a chance and lied to
her saying that I was in China Town. Then she ordered me to send my live location in half an hour. Only then I decided to call Jacob and let him know everything. But I didn't find Jacob on call so next I called Parker and told him everything. Also, I told him to inform Nicholas about what happened. Next, I destroyed my cell phone so that the blackmailer couldn't contact me and I did not have to send my live
location to her." I narrate.
"Why didn't you go to your apartment directly?" Jacob asks.
"I didn't want to take any risk with mom and dad's safety. So I came here and let them know everything." I reply.
"You did the right thing," Arthur remarks.
"How is Nicholas doing?" I ask.
"He is still in the hospital. His left hand is broken along with a few other injuries on his body." Arthur replies making me wonder if Nicholas knows what happened.
"I want to meet him." I let out.
"You will very soon but right now let me talk with the cops about everyone's security. I am sure the blackmailer is trying to get in touch with you but as you have already destroyed your phone, she may try to harm any of us so that you come out of your hidden spot. That's why I am suggesting you to stay hidden till I tell you to." Arthur lets out.
Although I want to deny him but I also know whatever he is saying is for everyone's good. I just hope | get to meet Nicholas and see him pretty soon.
