NICHOLAS'S POV
I have gotten discharged from the hospital but I need to take bed rest for some more time. However, I don't want to take any more rest as I desperately want to meet my precious Aurora.
After hearing everything from Parker and Arthur, it has taken a lot of willpower for me to not go out and destroy the person who has been blackmailing Aurora. I have already asked my private investigator to look into the matter and now I'm just waiting for him to inform me.
I already knew that Aurora could not break up with me so easily.
Whatever she was saying was not her words. Those words were of someone else who was telling her what to do. But I can't deny that I didn't feel bad at all when she compared me to Matthew. I know that whatever she said was not from the heart but still I felt hurt.
"Bro, why are you standing in front of the window? You should be in the bed." Evelyn lets out walking into my bedroom.
"I was not feeling well laying on the bed so I thought to look at the city."
I reply not looking back at her.
"You may be a great businessman but don't try to hide your feelings at least from me." She says standing beside me.
"What do you mean?" I ask.
"You are thinking about Aurora, right?" She asks back making me release a sigh.
"I think you already know the answer." I reply.
"She also wants to meet you but..." | look at her to see that she is hesitating.
"But what Eve?" I ask.
"Aurora thinks that you are angry with her and don't want to be with her anymore." I get shocked by hearing what my precious is thinking.
But how can she think like that? Again she is doubting my feelings for her. However, this time I'm not going to let her do whatever she wants.
She has called me controlling earlier but now she will see how controlling I can be.
"Where is she now?" I ask.
"Umm.. She is in the car with Jacob in the parking lot." She replies making my eyes widen.
"You mean she is already here?" I ask.
"Yes but just like I told you she is scared to come here." She replies with a sad smile.
Without saying anything to Evelyn anymore, I dial Jacob's number who immediately receives my call.
"Tell Aurora to come to my penthouse asap and before she refuses, let her know that I will be extremely angry with her if she doesn't reach here in five minutes." That's all I say before I disconnect the call.
"Don't you think you are being too mean to the poor girl?" Evelyn remarks.
"She needs to learn to share her problems and that can only happen if I teach her a lesson. It's not like I'm going to say anything rude to her. I am just going to have a talk with her." I reply.

I am sitting on the couch while staring at Aurora who is sitting across from me. I have asked Evelyn and Jacob to leave as I don't want anyone to interfere.
Although 1 am seeing her after a few days but it feels like ages. I have gotten too attached to her that I can't stay away from her for one day so only | know how I have felt all those days that I haven't got to see her.
It's not a hidden secret that I have missed her like hell but I am not going to show it to her so easily. First I will like to hear everything from her mouth but it seems she is not gonna open her mouth.
"Are you going to talk or you are just going to sit there?" I ask looking at her.
"What do you want me to say?" She asks back with a strain tone which doesn't suit well with me.
"First look at me and then we will talk." I say because since she has arrived, she hasn't looked at in my eyes for some reason.
"I can't." She whispers making me confused.
"And why is that?" I ask not understanding what she is trying to say.
"Because you are in pain, our families are in trouble and everything is my fault." By saying this she breaks down in tears making me clench my right fist in anger.
She is thinking that everything is her fault while it's not true at all. She has been blackmailed to leave me or her loved ones will get harmed.
Yet, she is doubting herself.
"Come here." I tell her but she shakes her head in denial.
"If you don't come here then I will stop talking to you for ever." I let out sternly making her gasp and instantly she hurries towards me before sitting beside me.
I put my fingers under her chin and make her look at me. I feel a pang of hurt seeing her beautiful hazel eyes which are now full of tears. Without saying anything further I take her in my arms. although I want to pull her onto my lap and cuddle but I know my body is not strong enough to do that.
"Shh, calm down." I whisper in her ear when she keeps crying silently.
"I didn't want to break up with you but when she sent me Aiden's video, I had to do what she was forcing me to do. I am so sorry, Nicholas. I didn't mean any cruel words I told you that day. Also, you are not like Matthew. You have always been my pillar of strength but I didn't have any other option left besides comparing you with him knowing it would hurt you." She says with hiccups while I try not to coo at how cute she is looking.
"I know you did not mean anything you told me but you should have told me about the blackmailer. You could have given me a hint about what was going on but you choose to hide things from me." I tell her.
"I got so scared that my mind did not understand how to handle the situation correctly and that's why I decided to go with that woman's order." She replies making me confused.
"Haa! A woman has been blackmailing you?" I exclaim with surprise.
"Yes. Didn't Parker tell you everything?" She asks looking confused.
"Yes he did but he didn't mention any woman. I have been thinking that the blackmailer is a man." I reply and quickly send a text to my private investigator about this newfound information.
"Oh." She says before getting silent.
"Nicholas, can I ask you something?" She asks.
"What's this?" I remark.
"How many women have you dated till now? I mean the blackmailer told me to break up with you so I think it may be one of your ex who wants me out of your life." She answers looking at me.
"I will not deny that I have been with a lot of women but I never dated them. You are the only woman who has been able to capture my attention. However, you may not be wrong about one of my past flings being the blackmailer." I reply thoughtfully.
After that none of us say anything. Maybe because of the inner dilemma that we are going through. I thought I would scold her for hiding about the blackmailing but when I saw tears in her eyes, I can't find it in me to even raise my voice a little. She has already suffered a lot so she doesn't need to hear anything from me. I am happy to learn that she has put her utmost belief in me by letting me know exactly what's going on.
Although I didn't want to hear anything but when Parker mentioned about a blackmailer, 1 got alerted the listened to everything calmly. Not only that, Arthur too explained his point of view on this matter so I can't blame my precious Aurora for everything because she got trapped by every side.
Suddenly, I feel a weight on my shoulder so | look at her to see that she has fallen asleep. I stand up carefully not to wake her up and make her lie down on the couch comfortably. I want to take her to the bed so that she can sleep well but with a broken hand I can't do that. So, half-heartedly I put a blanket over her so that she doesn't feel cold.
Poor girl must have not gotten much sleep due to the stress. It's good that she has fallen asleep here because now I can plan my next move.
I don't have any particular guess about who can be the blackmailer but I do have a few names in mind. However, not all of them fall into the category of the women I have link-ups. There are a few who are related to me by some other means.
