Lovely Triplets: Why's Daddy Jealous Everyday?

Nora Foster stared blankly at the thin critical illness notice.

She had late-stage stomach cancer and she only had three months left to live.

The white paper seemed like a death notice, stabbing her eyes with pain.

Her phone vibrated; it was a message from her husband's lover.

[Isaac is with me, and he was really wild just now.] The attached picture showed a man's bare shoulder. Although the face was not visible, Nora saw the red mole on the shoulder and knew it was Isaac Porter.

[Nora, be sensible and get a divorce, will you?]

[With a filthy woman like you around Isaac, he'll never be happy!]

[You've been married to Isaac for so many years, but has he ever touched you? You don't know how passionate he is on my body; he can't bear to be apart from me.]

The phone kept buzzing, with one message after another popping up.

Each word cut her like a knife. Nora's body trembled uncontrollably.

She took a deep breath and dialed Isaac's number. "Let's get a divorce."

It was time to let go, from the unwillingness three years ago to acceptance now.

In the final three months of her life, she would release Isaac and set herself free as well.

There was a few seconds of silence on the other end of the line.

Isaac scoffed indifferently, "What are you up to now? Nora, are you playing hard to get?"

Perhaps provoked by his lover, Nora tried hard to suppress the sob in her voice. "Tonight, stay with me." Her voice was as gentle as the wind, but filled with sorrow.

However, Isaac's voice was impatient. "Stay with you for what?"

Her heart trembled as she said, 'Sleep with me, and we can become a real couple. Then, we can part ways amicably.'"

The next second, Isaac sneered, "Do you deserve it? Are you bored at home and want to leave to find your ex-lover?"

Nora knew who Isaac was referring to; they had reached this point because of that accident four years ago.

She wanted to explain, but the words stuck in her throat. What was the use of saying anything?

He would never believe her. In the last three months of her life, there was no need to desperately clear up the past misunderstanding.

Nora shouted, "I don't want any of your property in the divorce, just come back and stay with me."

Around six in the evening, Nora finished all her tasks at the art exhibition.

Thinking that Isaac got off work at five, Nora hurried home, afraid he had waited too long.

When Nora got home, the door was ajar.

She gently pushed it open; the house was dark and empty.

She fumbled to turn on the light, and the sight in the living room made her heart sink. There was no sign of Isaac in the tidy and orderly space.

She picked up her phone and dialed Isaac's number, only to hear a drunken, impatient voice. "What is it?"Nora held back her emotions and asked, "Where are you?"

"Does it have anything to do with you?"Isaac's voice was cold and slurred, sounding drunk.

"Didn't you promise to come back and stay with me? On our last night, you're still with Kalista. Aren't you afraid I'll find another man..." She was cut off before she could finish. "Nora, the divorce papers are in the study. I signed them three years ago. Just sign them, and you can find any man you want to have sex with," Issac said casually.

With that, the call was ruthlessly hung up.
