Chapter 34 Action
The secretary truthfully conveyed Roderick's words to Ruby.
"Mr. Shaw said that if you were going to change your agent, your career as a star would not be smooth!"
Ruby shrieked and said, "Doesn't he want to see me?"
"No!" The secretary gave her an answer.
Ruby didn't believe her, "Little bitch, are you saying something bad about me?" she angrily said, "Otherwise, why doesn't Mr. Shaw see me? Give me a call, and I'll talk to him personally!"
The secretary looked at her with defiant eyes for her unreasonable quarrel.
But she had seen quite a few things, and none of the stars with a little fame would have expressed their love for Mr. Shaw in such a straightforward way as she did.
Only the stars with few fame, or not be ranked on the top list in the entertainment circles, would be eager to rely on Mr. Shaw to obtain some good resources.
The probability of this happening, however, was almost nonexistent.
"That was exactly what Mr. Shaw said, if you make up your mind to disturb the boss, you have to think about what you had signed in the contract that would bring a serious result to your career."
That word completely dissuaded Ruby from doing such stupid things.
This was a man she wanted to have for herself, but she couldn't ruin her career without his favor.
Swearing for a while, Ruby had to leave.
Ruby had perfectly curbed her own temper since she left the company.
So, she decided to compete with Suzette for the man to the end.
Ruby was irritated that the attitude of Roderick toward Suzette was gentle.
In her mind, stars became famous not because they had a gold agent to assist them, but because they were supported by men with wealth.
Suzette was still arranging the following schedule in her office. Because she knew that she had to take Ruby with her, so she also made plans for the rest of her work.
Even though Ruby was always directed against her.
While arranging the half of schedule, the phone suddenly rang.
Suzette stopped working, and then glanced at the note on her phone, which showed it was Roderick's calling.
The first thing that came to Suzette's mind was that he was going to talk about Ruby.
Not surprisingly, Ruby acted pretty quickly this time.
Suzette answered the phone right away.
"This is Suzette speaking! Mr. Shaw."
At the company, Suzette always cautiously called him Mr. Shaw.
Roderick just frowned slightly, and then talked directly about Ruby.
"Ruby just went to the secretary's office and asked to change her agent," Roderick directly said about it..
"Well, but I know she can't get it," she said quietly.
Roderick chuckled, "You are pretty sure."
"Of course! if she wants to get ahead in the entertainment circle, she'll have to do what I have arranged for her, no matter how much she hates me," Suzette said.
Thanks to Roderick for a wonderful contract.
Ruby was not so ignorant to this extent.
"Well, I'm looking forward to your success," he said.
"So please rest assured, Mr. Shaw." Suzette guaranteed.
While they were still talking about the work, Roderick suddenly changed the subject and talked about Lawrence.
"How was Lawrence after he went back home yesterday?" he asked.
"Fine! He was full of vim and vigour." Suzette gave an answer.
"Well, if I have time, I'll accompany with him."
Suzette was going to turn him down and kept distance from him, but Roderick hung up without giving her a chance to say something. She didn't know if he did it on purpose.
She sighed and kept on her own work.
A week later, all actors were ready, and the set was in City W, so Warren had already been filming.
Working in the City W made it easier for Suzette to take care of her children.
This costume drama was called The World.
Both the leading actor and actress were very famous domestic actors with excellent acting skills.
As for Warren's film, there are occasionally one or two supporting roles with beautiful appearance but no acting skills, but he was very careful to choose the leading roles of the film.
That was why his films were completely famous and popular.
Everyone were willing to watch the films directed by him.
"Lee, get ready. Ruby is going to act today. Let's pick her up," Suzette said.
"Well!" Lee answered.
In this week.
Suzette hardly urged Ruby to learn the lines and practice the acting.
Even though Ruby was reluctant to obey her arrangement, she did it obediently. Because Suzette's threats were extremely outrageous.
She had never seen such a person like her.
Could she have behaved in such a way on abroad?
Ruby did not dare to think deeply.
Soon, they arrived at the Ruby's house. Ruby also went downstairs on time, so as to give Warren a good impression.
Even just a supporting role, if she could get the favor of the director, it actually would be a wonderful thing.
Ruby comforted herself.
"As long as you do what I have told you, and obey the director, there will be no mistakes," Suzette said.
When Ruby got on the car, Suzette addressed these questions.
Ruby didn't give a respond, but Suzette knew she had got it.
The set was located in a remote suburb, which covered a large area. So that it took them about an hour to get there.
Ruby was urged to make up.
At that time, Ruby seemed to play a trick on Suzette, and suddenly looked at her.
"I order you to do my makeup," Ruby said.
Suzette hesitated, but did not refuse.
When she showed off her excellent makeup skills, all the cosmeticians astonished about it.
Some even were about to ridicule her.
"Suzette, you can directly to be a cosmetician," she said, "You are really wasting your talent on being as an agent."
Not everyone knew the name called Elizabeth, so that Suzette was seen as an unknown agent.
Suzette just smiled without any words..
After the makeup was done, it was time for Ruby to act.
The scene was set in Happy Red Court.
With Ruby's first dance as the first scene, it amazed all the audience, including one of the Lords who was a decent supporting actor of this costume drama.
Ruby played the role of Muriel in the play. So the Lord was the target of her.
The purpose of Muriel was to sneak around the Lord as a spy.
"Act one, action!"
After all, Ruby graduated from the Academy for Performing Arts, which was a three-tier college, teaching and training sing and especially dance.
Ruby's body was pretty soft, which was great for dancing.
A moving and attractive dance displayed, Warren didn't stop it, that was enough to prove that he was very satisfied with her performance in such scene.
"Well done! Perfect!"Warren said.
The first time Ruby went on the stage, she got a compliment from Warren.
Ruby was a bit on cloud nine, but she made a good interaction with the Lord.
Suzette had been watching the play.
With a calm attitude, she was very satisfied with Ruby's scene.
Anyway, she had picked the right scene.
If Ruby kept such a good state, she would attract a lot of fans after the costume drama released.
Although acting as a villain, if she perfectly performed out her loyalty, it would have been impressive enough.
Now the audience was just interested in the leading actor and actress.
Sometimes, the supporting parts also played a significant role in the play.
And it was an important point that Suzette valued.
Ruby walked towards Suzette and gave her a defiant look.
"This kind of scene is nothing to me," she said provocatively.
Suzette didn't bother to debunk her.
She just asked Amber to give Ruby some drink.
Then it was the turn of another supporting actress, Suzanne.
