Chapter 22 Handover

Roderick was prudent and took his privacy extremely seriously.

As the leading entertainment company in the domestic market; many celebrities would do anything to move up the ranks, but he always remained clean and was unwilling to get dirty.

That's why such a rule was made, and it saved him a lot of trouble.

Suzette didn't press on with questions; she began to concentrate on the information at hand, and Lee left the office to avoid disturbing her.

Since Suzette has just returned to China, she was not very familiar with domestic operations.

So presently, the company only assigned one female celebrity to her.

She carefully looked at the information, and whispered the name.

"Ruby Lawson."

Suzette had heard of the name before when she was still abroad, but it was not good news.

This artist once made a fool of herself on the red carpet; even foreign media widely reported the incident, which caused a lot of shame in China, so Suzette had quite an impression.

She raised her eyebrows. "Well, this is a challenge."

After she had a grasp of the situation, Suzette called for Lee.

"What do you need, sis?"

Lee was now very loyal to Suzette, and the smile on his face was full of kindness.

Suzette tapped the desk lightly and asked, "Where is Ruby Lawson now?"

As a celebrity, if they wanted to be famous and make money, then they had to keep taking on commercial advertisements.

"She's now at Whitetail's. Her last manager landed her a clothes ad for a domestic brand."

Suzette supported her chin and finished listening.

Then she stood up, "Let's go, take me to find her."

Lee was surprised, "Now?"

"I want to know her in person."

After hearing Suzette's words, Lee was nervous. He reminded, "Sis, I have to tell you one more thing. Ruby Lawson has been known to have a bad temper."

"No matter."

Suzette was no newcomer. Even when she worked abroad, she started from the bottom. Was there anything she couldn't handle?

For her two children, she was desperate to move up!

Seeing Suzette's mind made up, Lee contacted the company's dedicated driver to drive to Whitetail Studio.

Inside Whitetail Studio.

Ruby Lawson wore trendy clothes and took instructions from a photographer for her photoshoot.

Her assistant Amber stood on the side, with a cold drink ready in hand.

During a brief break, Amber immediately brought the drink forward, "Ruby, your drink."

Ruby reached out her slender white arm, took the beverage and began to drink. The weather was far too hot.

But after a few sips, the drink suddenly splashed on Amber's face, "What did you buy? After being with me for so long, don't you know I don't drink this flavor?"

Amber was distraught, but she didn't dare say anything because she needed the job.

"Sorry, I'll change it right away."

Ruby had previously requested for this flavor, but now she blamed Amber in front of everyone.

This was how Ruby always acted.

Before she even had time to wipe her face, Amber rushed out of the studio to get another drink. She didn't even dare to see if anyone was looking at her.

It was far too embarrassing.

At this moment, a gentle feminine voice sounded, "Wipe off your face first."

A piece of tissue appeared in front of Amber, and she looked up in surprise.

The staff on the set looked at them in surprise.

The photographer was the first to show his surprised look.

There was no shortage of beauties in showbiz, but there was a lack of beauties with elegance.

This woman who appeared on the set had both, and he couldn't help but want to shoot her with his camera.

"Thank you."

Amber became teary-eyed, she took the tissue and wiped the drink off her face.

"Who are you to be telling my assistant what to do?"

Ruby's original good mood was completely destroyed, she took a few steps forward and prepared to confront this woman.

Then she saw Lee standing behind the woman, and asked sharply, "Lee, why are you here?"

Lee walked forward with a small cough and introduced, "Ruby, this is your new agent, Suzette; her name abroad is Elizabeth, please take care of each other."

Elizabeth.

Everyone on site had heard of the name before and exclaimed.

Typically, few managers got famous.

Suzette's case was an accident. As an Asian descendent, she had seen her share of discrimination while she was overseas.

But Suzette managed to push through, and every celebrity which she handled was able to deliver great results.

Some of them have even won an Oscar.

If she was doing so well overseas, why did she return to her motherland?

This was the question on everyone's mind.

Ruby Lawson smiled, with a proud expression on her face, "Is that so? You're my new manager? Do you know that the domestic market is different from abroad? Don't try and apply those rules on me."

She spoke unrestrainedly and didn't respect Suzette at all.

Suzette paid no mind.

According to the information, Ruby pissed off her last manager, who decided to quit.

"Rest assured, I am very confident to take you in. Are you still working now?"

Suzette's words awoke the photographer, "Ms. Lawson, time is running out, let's continue with the next shooting."

Ruby rolled her eyes and did not snap back at Suzette for the time being, but before she returned to the studio, she gave Amber a vicious look, "Go and get me something to drink."

Amber trembled and said in a low voice, "Right away."

This time, Suzette said nothing.

She helped once, but could not a second time.

After all, the source of the issue was Ruby, and her temperament would not be easy to change.

Suzette stood by quietly and watched Ruby in her working state.

Ruby's face was pretty, but after looking it for a long time, people would get bored; nothing stood out enough.

That was Suzette's first impression as a professional in the industry.

Ruby's face had undergone plastic surgery before; it was written on her profile, but she claimed to be all-natural.

This was typical of domestic celebrities. As long as they were not discovered, most will deny it.

Admitting that they had surgery seemed to bring a kind of shame and damaged their reputation.

"OK, done! Thank you for your hard work."

The photographer finally stopped.

Everyone began to prepare for the next round of shooting; after all, there were still plenty of other projects.

Suzette looked at the scene and let out a sigh of relief. She was currently satisfied with Ruby's performance, at least she could catch the photographer's main points.

But if Ruby was going to go into film and television, Suzette didn't know about her acting skills.

"Pete, the next celeb will be in place right away, is the camera ready?"

The sound of high heels pattered across the floor.

Suzette turned her head curiously to take a glance, then let out a surprised look.

Out of all people, her?
