Chapter 23 The Arrogant Lady

Suzanne arrived, wearing a long skirt. Her white high-heeled shoes looked about 15 centimeters tall, and it was so thin it seemed like it could snap at any time.

"Welcome, Suzanne."

The photographer Peter Mason warmly welcomed Suzanne; the two of them seemed quite familiar with each other.

Suzanne tossed her hair and looked at Suzette inadvertently. She had noticed Suzette a while ago, but she did not express her temper in public, especially when there were people in the industry around.

"It's time for my photo-shoot, right?"

Suzanne flashed her trademark smile. Her photo-shoot theme today was the same clothing brand as Ruby's.

Peter smiled and said, "Yup yup, this dress right here, hurry and get changed."

Everyone's attention shifted to Suzanne, completely ignoring Ruby.

Ruby's face turned grim in an instant. Despite her reluctance, she stepped down from the studio and gave Suzanne a cold stare.

She and Suzanne could never stand each other, and the two of them also secretly bickered on Weibo.

"Hey, you said you are Elizabeth; if I want to beat her and trample over her, you can do it, right?" Ruby walked up to Suzette with an air of arrogance.

Suzette frowned her pretty brows slightly; she really didn't like Ruby's tone of voice.

"If you want to trample her under your feet, first change your temper."

This was the truth.

But Ruby didn't take it to heart, she still held her stance, "This is me. If you don't think it will work, then leave, my future ahead is still bright."

With that, she lowered her head and played with her bright-red nails.

Lee, who stood behind, felt disgusted at how Ruby thought so highly of herself. If it were not for Sky Royal Entertainment, what Ruby did before would have already spread across Weibo!

Suzette chuckled; she did not continue to preach, but instead gave Ruby a promise, "I can make you trample her under your feet."

She referred to Suzanne.

Ruby was suspicious, "Really?"

"You're the first artist I am handling after my return. I will not allow myself to fail." Suzette's eyes were full of determination.

It's been five years; Suzette had already learned to let go of her "hatred".

But from the last meeting, just because she let go, didn't mean others would also let go.

If she does not take initiative, in this dog-eat-dog world of entertainment, she would be eaten without any bones left. This was just the natural law of show biz.

But Ruby obviously didn't take Suzette's words seriously. She glanced at Suzette lightly, "We'll just have to wait and see."

With that, she walked past Suzette and towards Amber, who just returned.

Amber panted as she held a newly bought drink in her hand, "Ruby..."

Ruby Lawson took the drink, sipped, and nodded in satisfaction, "Hold the umbrella for me; if the sun hits me, don't blame me for being impolite."

Amber, who ran all the way back, was sweating profusely. She took out her umbrella and followed closely behind Ruby.

After walking a few steps, Amber looked back at Suzette, her eyes full of apology, but she didn't know how to express it.

Suzette curled her lips slightly, indicating to Amber she did not take it to heart.

After Ruby disappeared, Suzette let out a sigh of relief.

"Sis, don't mind her; she just has such a temper." Lee said quickly.

"It doesn't matter to me. As long as she can act well in front of fans, then it's not a problem."

As Suzette spoke these words, her expression was solemn.

From today, she knew how difficult the future tasks were. Of course, she was not someone who fled when met with a little difficulty.

"Let's head back, and send me Ruby's next arrangements."

"OK."

Lee replied respectfully.

Before leaving Whitetail, Suzette looked back at Suzanne, who was still taking a photo-shoot, and she gradually reduced the gloomy look in her eyes...

It was just the first day of work, so Suzette left work early once she had a brief understanding of the work process.

She also informed Roderick in advance on this matter.

Suzette returned to her newly rented high-end apartment, and was relieved when she saw Lawrence sitting in the lobby obediently and watching TV.

There was a smile on his face.

"Lawrence, mommy's back."

Lawrence, who was still watching TV, immediately jumped off the sofa and rushed to Suzette, pouting for a hug.

"I missed you so much today."

Lawrence was still at an age where Suzette could hold him, so she happily picked her son up.

"How have you been today?"

Lawrence looked like a little adult, "It's okay, I just missed my sister a little bit."

Speaking of Lawrence's twin sister Amy, Suzette's expression immediately became a little sad, and she gently patted Lawrence on the back.

"How about we video chat with her later?"

Lawrence nodded happily, "Okay."

Actually, Lawrence has kept in touch with Amy privately. After all, the two of them were now partners, and there was a long way to go for them to make their mother's life happy.

"You watch TV for a while, we'll video chat together later."

Suzette put Lawrence down, then she walked to the kitchen, where nanny Mabel the nanny was cooking; this nanny was carefully selected and hired by Joyce.

Mabel quickly noticed Suzette and wiped the water on her hands.

"Madam..."

"It's alright, I just want to ask about Lawrence's situation today."

A working woman with two children, Suzette could not always tend all issues right away, so after she got off work, she always asked the nanny to learn of any issues.

They always had more details.

After a long time, Suzette breathed a sigh of relief, "Thanks for your hard work, Mabel."

"It's my job."

Suzette relaxed after hearing Lawrence was adapting to life in China.

At least her decision to return to China was not wrong.

After she tidied the room, Suzette connected her computer to the Internet and let Lawrence in.

"Lawrence, let's video chat with your sister."

Lawrence heard and let out a cheer from outside the room, "Coming."

Suzette calculated the time. It should be the morning for Amy in Country M. By this time, the nurse should have already given her medicine, so she should be awake.

The video invitation was sent, and shortly after, it was accepted.

The girl's lovely face appeared on the monitor immediately, although she looked pale and fragile because of her illness.

Suzette blamed herself whenever she saw Amy's sickly state.

If only she took better care of her body during childbirth; she even almost had a miscarriage.

When the baby was born, her weight was below standard, and she needed to stay in an incubator.

Otherwise, whether she would survive posed a problem.
