Chapter 2 Go to Hell

After Suzette saw the woman clearly, she exhaled lightly.

"Mom, why are you here?" she asked softly.

Sharlene heard this, stopped screaming, and turned to Suzette.

Suddenly, the old face became gloomy, "Damn you, girl. Why you don't sleep? Are you trying to scare me to death!"

Suzette listened to this uncalled for prattling and just wrinkled her brow.

The person in front of her was her mother-in-law and also a reason for her nightmare.

When she got married, with the way Camden was begging, Suzette also brought Sharlene from the countryside because she didn't have a mother. Considering it wasn't easy for Sharlene to raise a son like Camden, She respects her as much as her biological mother.

Even though Suzette is pregnant, she serves Sharlene well, does her laundry and cooks every day. Even so, Sharlene is still very dissatisfied with her.

Sharlene thinks the reason Suzette has so much wealth today is that she relied on Camden.

"I just got up for a drink." She tried to explain.

But Sharlene wouldn't listen, "What kind of 'drink' are you having this late at night? You're loud enough to wake the dead! Am I being punished for something my ancestor did to have a daughter-in-law like you? Are you here just to frighten me? No wonder you grew up without parents. I assume you scared them all both to death!"

Suzette let out a long sigh. She didn't have the energy to continue arguing with Sharlene.

She had grown accustomed to such vicious attacks and didn't want to waste her time arguing.

However, just as she was about to leave, Sharlene pulled her from the side, "I haven't finished speaking. Where are you running off to?!"

Although Suzette didn't provoke her, neither could she stop Sharlene's chatter.

When Suzette was about to dismiss Sharlene, the bedroom door opened, and Camden walked out.

"Mom, what are you doing if you don't sleep at night? I have to go to work tomorrow!" Camden said in dissatisfaction.

Sharlene was very unhappy to see her baby son coming out and complaining because of this bitch.

She immediately pointed to Suzette and complained, "All because of your precious wife. I just said a few words to her while she disrespected me. Probably because she thought I am old and useless. Perhaps a few years later she'll treat me like a horse to ride on."

Without asking the reason for the fight, Camden scolded Suzette fiercely, "Are you out of your mind? Can't you just be quiet at night? Please let us take a good rest, okay?"

Looking at the mother and son in front of her, Suzette was so angry that she had nothing to say. She turned and went downstairs, without more energy to continue with this nonsense.

But Sharlene believed she deliberately humiliated her by saying nothing.

She caught up with Suzette and growled, "Stinking bitch, you just scared me, and did not apologize!"

Suzette struggled and tried to get away from Sharlene. And scratched her arm by accident.

It was painful, and Sharlene looked at the flesh and blood with a vicious expression.

"Mom, I didn't mean to!" Suzette really didn't want to hurt her.

But Sharlene raised her hand high and couldn't resist her anger, "Bitch, go to hell!"

Pa! A heavy slap hit Suzette directly in the face.

This burst of force was sudden, and Suzette did not have time to stand firm, she fell backward.

Right before she was about to fall down the stairs, she grabbed the railing just in time. But because the action was too violent, she accidentally hit her stomach.

Suddenly, a burst of pain struck.

"Ah!" Suzette grabbed her stomach, staring at it in disbelief. She felt a burst of warm liquid flowing down her belly.

Her child! No! She panicked and looked at Camden and Sharlene, standing there. She begged them, "Save... save my child!"

Words failed her as she fell to her knees. She knelt on the ground because of severe pain.
