Chapter 3 Leave without a Cent
"Camden I beg you, call 911, please save my child."
Even when she begged them, Camden and Sharlene just stood idly by and looked at her heartlessly.
At that point, Suzette felt a sense of hopelessness overwhelming her and collapsed onto the ground.
As was about to lose consciousness, Suzette saw some men bash down the door and walked quickly towards her.
Ping!
It was total darkness.
Dazed, Suzette felt herself waking up.
It looked like she is in the long corridor of a hospital and the doctors were by her side attending to her. Thereafter someone was at her ear whispering, if she were to sign, her child will be saved.
Child, she needed to protect her child.
Her hands trembling, Suzette needed to sign her name.
Then, Suzette's dream was over.
She felt intense pain all over her body, she looked around and it was white all over and there was the smell of disinfectant in the air.
Is this a hospital?
Suddenly the memories of what happened before losing consciousness came flooding back.
She remembered Camden and Sharlene's indifference when she was begging them and a chill went down her spine. At that instance, she knew that these two people will not save her and she will not escape death.
But now she is at the hospital, does it mean that it was a dream?
As she was recalling, she suddenly remembers about her child and quickly sat up on the bed.
When she saw her bulging abdomen, she sighed a breath of relief.
Just at that moment, a vivid voice came from her ear side.
"Suzette, you are awake."
When she heard these words, Suzette looked in that direction and she saw a roughly twenty-three-year-old lady walking towards her. She was dressed simply and looked at her with concern.
"Suzanne, why are you here?" Suzette looked astonished and asked.
Suzanne and she grew up at the same orphanage. Both of them grew up together and are as close as anyone could get.
Suzanne sat by the bedside and sighed, "You don't say! Last night I went to your home and saw that you were covered in blood and laying on the floor. I was so frightened that I sent you directly to the hospital."
When Suzette heard this, her eyes deepened, "So it was you who sent me to the hospital."
She thought it was Mrs. Snow and her son but from what it looked like, she wasn't dreaming.
Suzanne looked at Suzette, nodded and said, "That's for sure, otherwise who do you think it was?"
She didn't answer her question.
From what Suzanne said, it appeared that she arrived at the hospital just in time and managed to keep her healthy child, not to worry.
Suzette was relieved to hear that.
A few days passed and Suzanne was at the hospital taking care of her. She was very attentive to Suzette. At her most desperate moment, she had this good friend by her side. After this incident, Suzette was completely disappointed with the Snow family mother and son.
Once Suzanne asked several times but Suzette never answered.
A week passed and Camden once again appeared before Suzette. But this time, he gave Suzette a divorce agreement. In the agreement it was written clearly that Suzette committed adultery and she had to end the marriage without any alimony.
"Camden, you have gone too far. We already agreed, why did you indicate that I committed adultery?" Suzette was so angry she threw the divorce agreement in his face.
Regarding her anger, Camden arrogantly sat and laughed, "What did we agree on. Do you have any proof? You strayed and want me to bring up someone else's child, do you take me for a fool? I'm letting you leave without a cent in consideration of your future. What you did amounted to my emotional damages."
Does he have emotional damages?
Suzette was angry beyond words.
