Bad Memories
"You're so presumptuous when you talk?!" snapped Morgan, who was beside Stevan.
"Control your emotions, Morgan," Stevan muttered softly, trying to warn him.
"Okay. What a coincidence that you showed up on your own, King Stevan. That makes it easier for me to kill you right now.” Without warning, Edward immediately attacked Stevan.
Stevan, who already understood, immediately took out his signature sword. And began to fight fiercely with Edward, while General Marcelino and the royal soldiers also attacked the other vampire herds. The vampire herds began to fall one by one and ended up dying horribly.
Edward, who was fighting Stevan, was also overwhelmed. His breath was short, and fresh blood started to come out of his mouth due to a strong kick to his stomach from Stevan. He fell to the ground. The pain in his body was unbearable. However, he still tried to be strong. His hand held the sword, then stuck it into the ground as a support for his weak body. He looked around. Almost all the vampires were defeated in a terrible condition.
"Bastard! What have you done to my men?!" he shouted, staring at Stevan.
"I'm just avenging what you did to the lycans a hundred years ago. Even what you did back then was more vicious than what I'm doing now. To the point that the lives of the king and queen could not be saved at that time," said Stevan, with a face full of anger.
Edward chuckled hearing that. "You deserve it. It's time for this world to be ruled by the vampire nation. Just wait. Soon the lycans will be wiped out in this world," he said with a look of disdain and arrogance.
“Before you do that, I will first exterminate the vampires in this world,” replied Stevan. Without further ado, Stevan immediately stabbed his sword right into Edward’s heart.
In the end, all the vampires, including Edward, were defeated. Stevan was relieved that his plan had succeeded. He admitted that the vampires were quite strong. It took him and the royal soldiers quite a long time to defeat them. “Take all these bodies to the backyard and burn them immediately,” he said firmly.
“We will carry out your orders, King,” answered the soldiers in unison.
Elsewhere, in the forest near the Moonbright Kingdom palace, there was a vampire army under Diego’s leadership. They numbered around one hundred and fifty vampires. “Why haven’t we heard from Edward yet?” Diego muttered as he paced back and forth.
However, at that very moment, a crow came and perched on Diego’s shoulder. “What is this?” He took something from the crow’s leg. A bracelet made of thread stained with fresh blood. His eyes immediately widened when he realized that the bracelet belonged to Edward. “No. No way. He can't be dead," he said, shedding tears.
Diego's gaze was now fixed on the palace building that was visible from the forest. "Wait for my revenge. I will make you all pay for my brother's death..." he said angrily. "Let's go back now and report this news to the king!" He and the other vampires hurried out of the forest.
The palace officials and war generals congratulated him on his victory against the most ferocious and powerful vampire troops. However, there was no smile on Stevan's face. His thoughts were focused on Alexandra, who had not been found until now. Suddenly he felt his heart ache so much that his hand squeezed his left chest tightly.
"What's wrong, King?" asked Morgan when he realized there was something strange about the king's attitude. Before answering, Stevan immediately ran, leaving the main courtyard of the palace when he remembered something.
Stevan was now in front of his private room. He took a deep breath before opening the door. The pain in his heart was getting more and more excruciating, making him want to prove what was on his mind even more. Slowly, his hand began to hold the doorknob and opened it. Quiet and dim, that was the situation in his room. He started to light candles to make the lighting brighter. Suddenly, he heard the sound of sobbing. He immediately turned towards the bed and was surprised to see Alexandra sleeping there.
"Why is she here?" Stevan walked over. He then sat down on the bed, right next to Alexandra's body. His brow furrowed when he saw the woman's tear-streaked condition. "No wonder my heart hurts. It looks like she's having a nightmare," he muttered while stroking Alexandra's forehead lovingly.
"You know? I was like a crazy person looking for you everywhere, but you weren't there. And it turned out you were in my room. And now what happened to you? Why are you crying?" Stevan pushed aside some of the hair that was blocking Alexandra's face. Both of her eyes were still tightly closed, but tears continued to flow, wetting her face, which looked increasingly thin. The pain in his chest was getting worse. However, he didn't care.
"Stevan..." A soft and hoarse voice came out of Alexandra's mouth.
"Yes. I'm here," answered Stevan, who heard it. His hand held Alexandra's hand gently. His gaze did not shift from her face one bit.
"Why did you leave me when I was pregnant with your baby?" Alexandra muttered, making Stevan fall silent. The sound of sobs became more and more heartbreaking. Stevan felt more and more pain in his chest.
"Are you dreaming of me?" Stevan thought, feeling sad seeing Alexandra still remembering that painful moment. He then kissed her hand sincerely and lovingly. Unknowingly, tears fell and wet the back of her hand. "Is that how painful you feel? Forgive me," he muttered softly while shedding tears. He kept her hand on his face, as if he didn't want to be away from her.
Slowly, Alexandra's eyes opened, and the first thing she saw was a man holding her hand while lowering his face. "Who are you?" she asked in a hoarse voice typical of someone who had just woken up.
