9. Threats From Him

9. Threats From Him
And then, they went back to their seats as before. Florence wouldn't be doing this if she didn't feel the need to. But this was about her job-the career she loved, she didn't want to lose it just because of a guy she'd known for two hours. And it was crazy how she was controlling him.

"You'll ruin my job." Florence lashed out. The look in her eyes suddenly turned sharp. "Through your printing business."

David flashed a big smile, which Florence found infuriating. "So, I'm not wrong in calling you smart."

"Oh, shut up."

"You see my point. You're right, I can destroy your business, but only if you don't comply with my request." There was a pause of a few seconds before David continued. "So, I guess you have no choice but to help me."

"What are you going to do?"

"Actually, I haven't really thought about it, because, you know, this idea just came to me. I think you can imagine it in your head."

Florence shouldn't have believed everything David said, but her instincts couldn't lie, that he was telling the truth.

But, despite this, Florence was trying to make her luck. She said, "How can I be sure you're not bragging?"

And yep, David didn't look panicked at all. He still looked relaxed, even his calmness made her uneasy.

"You apparently need proof." David nodded slowly. "Okay, let me show you." Then, he took something out of his pocket. It was a piece of paper, which he immediately thrust towards her. "Take it and see with your own eyes."

Florence threw away her shyness, she immediately grabbed the piece of paper. She looked at it carefully, reading it seriously. She wasn't surprised because she was sure from the start that David wasn't bragging. The paper was a contact ID for the printing company he owned.

"You know what? I don't mean to brag, but my business is quite successful and well-known. I can spread any information related to you and your work."

"Like what?" Florence tried to be defiant, trying to look unafraid, even though she was now actually overthinking. She had to put herself in the worst possible position, pretend he was a big threat, and she needed to find a good solution.

"I'll find a way."

"You don't know what to do yet."

"Indeed, I admit it. I have capable employees who can look up people's information. And I can tell them to get information from you, anything that might be useful."

Florence smiled wryly. "It's as if I'm a celebrity that people always pay attention to." She leaned forward. "You know what? No one cares about my life but me."

"You might be able to take it easy now that nothing has happened because I haven't acted yet, but I want to warn you that I'm not playing around. I can kill your career. Everyone will believe what I say about you."

"Go ahead."

"Are you sure about this?"

"You're threatening me, and I don't care. This way, I don't want anything to do with you."

David still looked relaxed. He seemed to know where the plot would lead. This wouldn't surprise him.

"Everyone has secrets. I have a secret, and so do you. I'll look for it that way. Don't underestimate me."

"Isn't if you get the information wrong then you're spreading lies? Who cares anyway? Who am I?"

"You do, and your potential clients do. I'm surprised you didn't think of that." David crossed his chest and leaned back in his chair. "Look, you can't be modest, you're famous and you know it. Everyone's going to be all over you once something about you that you've been keeping close is suddenly revealed. You're shocked, people are shocked, and everything explodes. It's absolute chaos."

"You're wrong, I don't have any secrets."

"Yes, you do. Everyone has secrets."

"I don't care. Your threats won't work. Go ahead and do whatever you want. I'm not afraid." Yes, Florence was scared, but she tried to retain what little strength she had.

"All you have to do is help me. It's not hard for you, I know."

"I don't care."

"Just because I asked for a different favor, doesn't mean you can refuse me."

"What?" Florence was getting more and more out of her mind with David. "It's precisely because your request doesn't match the vision and mission I've set, that's why I'm rejecting you."

"I won't bother you with anything, you just need to do me a favor. Just find me a girl for one day. The deadline is only five days."

Florence shook her head hard. She still didn't change her mind. To hell with David. She finally stood up. "I'm not going to help you. Save your stupid threats."

Florence deliberately quickened her pace, but David's voice still rang out.

"Three days."

His words echoed loudly. She paid no heed, instead she quickened her pace.

"I'm giving you three days. That's your chance."

Florence just clenched her hands tightly. Although she tried not to care, the reality was still not the case. She was afraid that something really bad was going to happen, that David was really dangerous.

Florence truly loved her job. This was how she lived her life, she couldn't imagine what would happen if she lost what she loved. It would be terrible, she knew that. She wouldn't let David just destroy what she had built up over the years. Who would dare to do that?

As she walked quickly, she didn't stop grumbling. She knew her anger was flaring up right now, her fear was even still quite evident.

To hell with the three days given by David. She didn't care about him. He was just threatening. That was bullshit.

He wouldn't be able to extract anything from her. In this way, she was even reluctant to have contact with him, let alone provide help, it was an impossibility. He had taken the wrong step.

Nothing will happen. Yes, everything was fine. Florence tried to think positively, but that was not the case.

The next day, a big event awaited her. And she didn't expect things to turn out the way they did.

Florence was in grave danger.
