I don't care
I don't care
The Smith family stood at Roselyn's bedside as she lay on the bed with a faint smile on her lips. Her pale face was getting clearer and better with the IV drip she was on.
Liam entered the ward with panic showing on his face as he ran to Roselyn, immediately holding her hand.
Lionel and Marry followed and stood near their son after greeting everyone.
"What happened here?"
Liam asked Rose, and she glanced at Dr Wilson, who was standing by her feet, writing a report.
"Can I please talk to the patient and her husband?" John asked with a gentle tone, his eyes darting across the room to everyone present.
"It is fine, doctor. Come, baby."
Sarah whispered to Violet, who was watching her aunt with concern in her eyes.
Marry asked to hold her grandson, who was sleeping in Sarah's arms, as soon as they got out of the ward so she could carry him on her back using a towel she had come with.
"Mr and Mrs Foster."
John bowed his head, and the couple nodded in sync.
"Remember the last time you both were here, we had a problem with Mrs Foster having a temporary illness called Hyperemesis Gravidarum. However, now we are past that, and I had hoped she would be fine, but with a lot of stress, she is becoming vulnerable to many sicknesses like abdominal pains, severe cramps, and even headaches affected by the fever she caught."
John said sternly, deliberately scolding Liam, who had no power to defend himself.
"So my wife has a fever. How bad is it?"
He asked with concern showing in his eyes while his grip on her hand tightened.
"It was bad, but we have tried to cool her down. If she sleeps now, by the time she wakes up in the morning, she will be just fine."
Dr Wilson met Liam's worried gaze and sighed heavily.
"How long am I going to be here, doctor?"
Roselyn asked softly, and John paused before he could talk.
"Until we are sure your child is out of danger because miscarriages are highly likely in the first trimester. We would not want to risk that, or should we?"
The couple shook their heads and waited for him to get out of sight.
"Babe, we should do better for our kids."
Roselyn uttered, a flash of sadness crossing her face as their eyes met.
"I know, but please tell me what happened today. Dr Wilson is mentioning stress. Is this regarding the Michelle issue?"
He sat on the edge of the bed as he spoke, the curiosity in his eyes unmissable.
"Yeah." She replied with a low voice, her eyes blinking as she tried calming herself for the sake of her health.
"I apologize for being the main cause of this, but please bear in mind that Archie is handling this so well. We won't have to worry about her in the future."
His brows furrowed as she shot him a dangerous glare.
"I guess it would surprise you to know that your pretty ex sent me a message with a picture of you guys. Or perhaps it's her cousin who did that, but what I know is that I can't tolerate this any longer. We have to solve this." She said weakly.
Liam's jaw tightened while processing all this information.
"Michelle's cousin?"
He asked dumbfounded, and Roselyn shook her head in disbelief.
"Just talk to your brother, and get to the bottom of this. I need to see Paul."
She averted her gaze from him.
"Alright."
He paused before going out of the ward to call Paul, who was standing outside, pacing back and forth.
"She wants to see you."
Paul exchanged a quick stern glance with Liam and gave him Roselyn's phone before going in to check on his sister.
"Hey, Rosina." He walked closer to her, and she smiled at him in return.
"Is my son okay?"
She was worried about Christopher, who had cried himself to sleep after seeing her mood so low and her being put to bed by the doctor while their family stood tall by her bed.
"He is okay. I gave your iPhone to your husband. He deserves to see what put you here." A fleeting disappointment crossed her face.
"I don't care about that. The only thing I am asking is to help me out."
He looked bewildered.
She parted her lips and forced a smile.
"I am tired of seeming weak and vulnerable to his exes. Can you help me be brutal like you?" She said with a frustrated smile, and he chuckled lowly.
"Am I not a good brother to you?"
He asked in amusement.
"Yes, you are, but I cannot always depend on you for protection since my husband seems so soft and caring." She snorted.
"I don't want you to be brutal, Rosina. If you can heal and get better for us, I'm sure we can figure something out."
He leaned over to hug her and stayed by her side until she fell asleep.
Meanwhile, Liam was now at a hotel, in one of his private boardrooms.
He was with Ethan and Jasper, whom he had ordered to find out who Michelle's cousin was.
"His name is Dan. He is a famous London journalist." Ethan reported with a serious expression and even passed a file to Liam across from him.
"And why the hell is he here?"
Liam's eyes darkened, and he put the file aside without glancing at the contents inside.
"Perhaps Miss Preston might have sent him here, since Mr A. Foster is hunting for him."
Jasper said with calmness on his face.
Liam gave a slight nod and stood up, running a hand over his head due to frustration.
Ethan and Jasper exchanged a glance but still remained seated, waiting for Liam's order.
"Find all the dirt about the Prestons, and let our team do their best."
Jasper mirrored his smirk.
Well, it had been long since Liam had stripped and dragged his enemies into the media. He usually did it to socialites who were clinging to his business and threatening his family instead of playing fair like any competitors would.
Liam glanced at his wristwatch and looked down at Ethan, whose face was cold and ready to spill blood if his boss ever instructed him to.
"Find her cousin, make sure four hours doesn't pass without coming with him. At our usual place." Ethan nodded and left Liam with his assistant.
"Do you think it is a good idea to abduct him? I mean, dude is a journalist."
Jasper also stood up to match Liam's height.
Liam tilted his head, his expression growing solemn under Jasper's watchful gaze.
"Who knows, maybe someone might be looking for him." Jasper added, but Liam chuckled in response.
"I don't care about them, let them look for him. But just know the purpose of all of this is to send a message and give mercy to our messenger."
Both men smiled coolly and continued with their plans.
What Liam was not aware of was that Paul and his brother had already started humbling the whole Preston family in the most brutal way one could ever think or come up with.
