Solving it myself

Solving it myself
Roselyn's head was lowered, her attention fully on the phone in her hands, still attempting to call the numbers until they went straight to voicemail.

"What are you doing?"

Paul called from behind her, causing her to jump in fright.

She turned to him, her frustration clear on her face as she clutched the phone in her hands.

"Just a few phone calls."

Roselyn forced a smile while Paul remained aloof.

"Lying does not suit you at all, Rosina, and you are clearly not aware that I have seen the text you were reading."

He slipped his hands into his pockets, his brows knitting.

"Really?"

She cringed her face as he gave a slight nod.

"Well, my bad. So, since you have seen everything, will you help me out here?"

She sat on her bed while he stood tall before her.

Paul smirked under her sad gaze. "What do I help you out with?" He deliberately asked again so she could tell him everything.

"We have a stalker, Jocker101. Does it ring a bell?"

He dipped his head.

"Yes, but perhaps he is just an innocent journalist trying to make a living for himself."

She shook her head, impatience running through her after his response.

"We both know that the obsessive journalist is Michelle's cousin. His name is Dan, and knowing how calm you look right now, I know you must be planning something despicable!"

She snapped in frustration, and Paul chuckled before sitting beside her.

He slipped his arm around her shoulder, gently rubbing her back.

"And who might have told you that?"

His expression softened.

"We all know Archie is very well informed about the whole thing, but he told Nancy in case you want to snitch."

She giggled, and he was relieved she still had time to express joy.

"Oh, that makes sense, but I am going to ask a favour from you."

She nodded.

"Please don't make stupid decisions like calling back the numbers that send you such messages. By doing that, you are making it easier to be provoked."

He instructed seriously.

She was a bit reluctant as she stared at him like he had not just uttered anything.

"I am not sure about that, brother, but let's say I back off. Do you realise this could continue and it could escalate? How do I stand my husband if I get such messages from his exes or their exes' cousin? Oh, I don't even know what I'm saying."

She sighed and cringed as she felt a stinging pain in her abdomen.

"I will handle all this, but please ignore any creepy message you might get from anyone. Report it back to me, okay?"

His serious expression pressed her to agree, even though she wanted to protest.

"You guys better handle this fast, or else I am solving this myself."

She smiled bitterly, and Paul raised an eyebrow, almost like he was seeing his reflection in her.

"Okay, Rosina. I think Mom and Dad might arrive by now. Come with me."

The two of them stood up in sync before he bent down and carried her bridal style, causing her to scream amusedly as they went downstairs.

"Hey, what is happening here?"

Bonnie shouted from the door as she entered the living room.

"Hey, mother," Paul smiled as he dropped his sister next to his mother while everyone else stood up to hug the couple.

"Don't worry, I am all good now..."

She grimaced in pain, and the other three women in the room exchanged surprised glances.

"Come here, I have missed you."

Bonnie pulled her daughter into a warm embrace while David hugged Sarah and Violet.

"How was your trip with the Coles?"

Sarah asked Bonnie and David, who appreciated the sight of her nice smile as they sat next to each other.

"The trip was nice, and we have brought lots of gifts for you guys, but Paul should fetch them from the car." David looked at his son, who was now carrying Christopher, who had woken up to the excited sounds from his grandparents.

"As you see, father, I am babysitting."

Laughter erupted as Paul teased them.

"Then all of you shall wait for Paul. Have they been treating you nicely, Mom and Dad?"

David called his parents, who gave him a reassuring smile.

"How can we not be treated nicely when our son brought us a beautiful bride and the sweetest grandchild?" Gavin exclaimed with a satisfied expression, and Sarah blushed with Violet sitting between her great-grandparents.

"That is good, but you, my love, are you really okay? I thought Nancy said you have recovered." Bonnie asked her daughter, who pressed her lips to give a charming smile before she shouted again in pain, and Goodness was the first to get to her.

She bent a little and placed her hand on Roselyn's forehead, immediately frowning as she rose.

"She is feeling hot. We should really get her to the hospital." Paul nodded, and Brady was called right away.

"Granny, do you think there's anything wrong with my child?" Roselyn asked in fear, but Goodness didn't respond as Sarah and the rest of the family helped her get in the car.

Christopher cried from Paul's arms as he saw how freaked out his mother was.

"Give him to me, and call Liam. I'm going with Rose and Bonnie."

Sarah took Christopher from Paul and hopped in the backseat of the Bentley.

Violet ran to hug her father's feet as Paul made the phone call to Liam.

"Brady, make it quick. We will follow you guys." Goodness said seriously.

Brady nodded and left the Smith Manor at high speed.

Only Bonnie, Sarah, with Chris went with Roselyn in a Bentley, while the others remained behind before David came with another one of the cars.

Liam's phone was put on silent since he had a meeting with his client in the small boardroom across his office.

"So, Mr Brentford, are we happy with what we are seeing here?" Liam sat back casually, and the man whispered to his assistant before nodding to him.

"I think we can start, Mr Foster. Your team has impressed me again."

The boardroom door was flung open.

Liam's gaze darkened as he saw Jasper panting at the door, disrupting his meeting with his big client.

"Greetings, Mr Brentford."

He paused and looked at Liam.

"I apologize for this, Mr Foster, but Mr Smith says Mrs Foster was admitted to the hospital." Liam did not wait for Jasper's explanation as he jumped from his chair and went out without looking back.

Jasper didn't follow his boss, so he could attend to the client who was concerned with what had just taken place.

"My apologies, Mr Brentford, but can we reschedule the meeting for tomorrow? I can handle things until Mr Foster comes back."

Brentford gestured to his young assistant to stand up as they prepared to go.

"I do understand, Mr Jones, but Mr Foster and I were already done. Please send him my regards." The man said as they left Jasper behind.

"You landed an hour ago, however, you are already working. Welcome, Mr Jones." Grace appeared at the door, and Jasper smiled faintly and walked past her.
