Chapter 0055;This Man Is Totally Whipped.

“Anne has been calling.” Jake told Xavier, who was busy watching Mrs. Ross work from the CCTV he implanted 

in the room. It was obvious that he didn't hear what he just said or that he didn't care, after all, Anne never really meant anything to him.

“Yeah, she's a pain in the ass.” Xavier mumbled, not really giving Jake the full details of his sudden hostile actions towards his supposed girlfriend.

For the past few days, Xavier has changed his passcodes, preventing Anne's access inside his house. Yesterday, Jake ran into her outside the gate, Xavier wasn't at home when she came and from the look on her face, it meant trouble.

Jahe didn't know how to go about, pushing Xavier to tell him what transpired between him and the young lady, the last time he had forced him to do so, they had a huge rift between them. As much as he loved Anne and wanted her to always be happy, even if he's not the reason for the smile on her face, he's still working for Xavier and might lose his job.

Jake's phone started ringing at that time and it was Cheng, he looked back at Xavier whose whole attention was on the married woman who was working in his sitting room.

If only she knew that she has a stalker and creep watching over her while she worked, Xavier has proved to be stubborn. Irrespective of his advice to him, he still wasn't letting the woman out of his mind, and it wasn't in his place to ask Diana about it because clearly she's happily married.

She didn't look like she was here to bring trouble to Xavier, rather it was Xavier that was calling for problems for himself by chasing after her.

At this point, Jake was forced to tell Cheng all about it, but he couldn't do it at least not yet, until he had concrete evidence that would force Cheng's hand to change the terms of the contract between Diana and Xavier.

If there's no Diana popping up everyday for Xavier to see, then he will realize that he's slowly losing his reasoning over someone that he cannot have.

“Jake speaking, sir “ He answered the call, as Xavier relaxed on the seat and crossed his leg over the table, while looking at his wristwatch.

“He's here.” Jake said before passing his phone over to the unbothered Xavier, who looked at him as if he has grown two heads, before Jake muttered that it was Cheng before he took the phone from him.

Jake knew what he was doing, he thought that it was Anne calling using his phone since he's not picking up the girl's calls. Clearly, he has blocked her but for what reasons?

“What?” Xavier answered.

Rude ass!

Jake cursed under his breath, standing aside as he watched Xavier fave grimace at something that Cheng told him.

“If she is the reason why you interrupted me working…” Xavier trailed on, giving Jake the initiative that it was Anne that is the topic of the discussion.

“She's in no damn hospital, the girl is a born actress, she just wants to draw attention to herself, unfortunately i'm not bewitched by her.”

Xavier blurted out.

Hospital?

Jake became worried.

If anything happens to Anne, he won't forgive Xavier.

“No, you don't get to order me around like your errand boy, Cheng. I'm done with whatever stupid fake relationship i have got with that girl.” Xavier added, feeling no remorse that truly Anne might have done something stupid to herself after he left her.

But this is the kind of man he is, he doesn't keep a girlfriend nor believe in love, so it's also going to be the same cycle with Diana, although he's not sure what exactly he wants from her.

But Xavier is not the kind of man to love, heck! He's twenty seven years, he hasn't even sat down for once to think of settling down and having kids. That's not who Xavier is, he's the life of the party. He's a hardcore playboy that has no regard for the opposite sex.

Just like he's done with Anne, he will move on to the next person. He's not like him, he loves Anne, but she doesn't look his way.

Everyone is obsessed with Xavier, not knowing that he's not going to love them for who they are, but for what he set out to gain from them.

“Fine, Jake can send flowers or whatever she wants in your name, like i said, I'm done faking anything.” Xavier said lastly, without waiting for Cheng to finish then handed the phone back to Jake.

Jake left his room as he was instructed by Cheng, because he didn't want their discussion to be heard by him, and luckily Xavier didn't call for his attention before he heard what Cheng had to say.

“Who is it?” Cheng asked.

Jake was confused because he didn't understand what exactly he was asking about.

“I don't understand, sir…” Jake tried speaking only for him to be interrupted by an annoyed Cheng.

“Have you been keeping things away from me?”

“No sir.”

“Then what the hell is happening between Xavier and Anne?” He asked angrily. “Jake, don't think that you are in disposable, i kept you there for you to keep an eye on him.”

Cheng barked as if Xavier was still a kid.

Jake has forgotten so soon, that he was nothing but a bodyguard to an immature kid, because what does he want him to do?

“I don't know what's happening, he's been keeping things away from me so i can't exactly tell what's going on with them.” Jake said truthfully, although he was still omitting the most important details which he knew, would cause a problem between Xavier and Cheng, and also put him in a bad position if Xavier finds out that he's that snitched.

“Is he seeing another woman?”

This question made Jake speechless, because just as he was avoiding being the one to tell what's going on with Xavier, Cheng just hit straight at the bullseye.

“I..don't think so, I haven't seen or noticed…”

“Jake, you sure know how much it's going to affect the company if Xavier breaches this contract with his stupidity. If there's anything going on with him, I need you to inform me.” Cheng pressed him further.

Xavier has always been stubborn, but not when it comes to Maryanne because she's the only girlfriend that he has kept for so long.

So, he could only suspect that another woman is in the picture that is why he's dumping Anne.

After said and done, Jake replied. “No sir, there's no woman. You will have to ask Xavier yourself.”

Cheng sighed.

“Fine, but don't hesitate to tell me if you notice any slightest change in him.” Cheng asked him.

“Of course sir.” Jake replied, before cutting the call.

He lied just to save Xavier’s cheating ass!

No, it's more of saving his job. Just like Cheng has said, He's indisposable but Xavier isn't, so it's left for him to play smart if he still loves his job.

Cheng wouldn't figure out that Xavier is fanning over a married woman, though him that's not going to happen.

The front door bell rang, which surprised him because no one was supposed to be here today, except for Diana.

Just as he was about to leave to check who it was, Xaviers door opened. “It's the pizza man, it's lunch time.”

“Pizza?” Jake asked, surprised.

Xavier doesn't like Pizza, and neither does he take lunch time seriously. Until it dawned on Jake who it was that he was doing all these for.
