Chapter 0054:Detective Husband Kelvin Ross
“
Are you sure that you don’t want me to drive you to work?” Kelvin asked again, suspecting that something was wrong with Diana not wanting him to drive her to her workplace.
He was persisting to do that, on the other hand, Diana was doing everything possible for him not to know that she wasn’t actually going to work at the publishing company anymore.
She didn’t know, but telling Kelvin about her working directly from Xavier’s house, a non-disclosure contract being signed about this very job, made her feel like she’s leaking out top secret information.
He’s her husband, but she practically knew nothing about his family business, aside from the fact that the company is a tech company. So, yeah, she owes him no explanation, well as of now.
He’s suspecting her like she’s hiding something from him, she could see it in his eyes. The doubt, but she didn’t know how to go about it that she wasn’t cheating on him, because that’s what the old Kelvin would be thinking right now.
They had spent the night in their new home, and she didn’t have anything to prove that he’s pretending. After leaving Jessica’s house last night, talking about Jessica she hasn’t spoken to her yet. She will do that while driving to work.
Back to the main talk about her leaving her house, she had come back home with this big splash banner saying welcome back home, with roses decorating the entrance of the house to their bedroom.
Kelvin wasn’t joking when he said that he wanted her back, he had prepared her favorite food and filled the bathtub with roses and whatnot. To cut the story short, yesterday was the best day of her life and she had added extra by having sex with him.
Yeah!
She wasn’t ashamed to say that, he’s her husband. Last night was a good night, but this morning, right now he’s looking at her like she had something hiding from him.
Maybe she could use this to test him, just to know if he will go back to his abusive nature. But it’s not good to walk into the den of a lion without any weapon. She would be the one calling for her death.
So instead of making this an issue and giving him a reason to suspect her further, she took his hand into her own. “No! Of course , I would like for you to drive me to work honey. But i will be heading over to Jessica’s, then we can go together.”
Diana explained.
“Really?” Kelvin asked, his entire demeanor changing at the sound of her mentioning Jessica. He knew that it was too early telling her to cut off ties with that stupid girl, not now.
Especially not after the lovely night that they just had, moreover, he didn’t want to give her a room to suspect that all this was an act. He wants his wife, all to himself and not just someone to come in between his marriage.
“Yeah, she hasn’t been picking up my calls, and also there’s this project that i need her review on.” Diana explained, turning to face the mirror to wear her earrings and apply powder on her face.
From where Kelvin stood, he looked uncomfortable like the talk of Jessica just ruined his mood. Even if he wanted her to cut off ties with Jessica, they both worked at the same company. So, it would take more than that for her to forever be free from associating with that wench.
“Babe, are you okay?” Diana asked him, looking at him from the mirror as Kelvin came out of his thoughts to force a smile on his face.
“Yeah, I’m fine, my love.” He said, moving forward to pick up his jacket from the chair handle that he placed it. His phone was already ringing nonstop and he knew that this was the day that he goes to work.
Diana is finally home where she belonged. So, there’s no need to be absent from work. But he was still bothered, but knowing that he was much smarter than his innocent wife, he didn’t try to make her uncomfortable with the look on his face at the talk of Jessica.
“I will be heading out now, sweetheart.” He said, coming closer as he grabbed her by her waist as Diana smiled, trying hard not to fall on the bed because she didn’t know what he had in mind about her leaving.
If it was up to him, he would have preferred that they stayed at home today. To make up for times that they were apart. Diana wanted that too but when she realized the risk of skipping just a day, as Editor Lin was adamant on taking this project away from her, she rushed out of the bed which made Kelvin to ask her if everything was fine this early morning.
“ I will miss you so much.” Kelvin groaned in the kiss, not wanting to pull away as his phone started ringing but he didn’t pay it no mind.
“Babe..”Diana called, laughing. “We have to go, your phone is ringing.”
“You know that i would cancel my schedule today just to be with you.”He said, flattering the young lady who looked at her wristwatch and gasped, when she saw the time.
Shit!
She was fifteen minutes late.
“I love you babe, but i have got to go like right now.” She said, ignoring him and his love talks as she could literally see horns growing on Xavier’s head while he waits for her.
“I will walk you out.” He said, as she smiled before taking her car key. Yeah, he got her a new ride, one that she was going to celebrate with Jessica later this night.
“I will prepare dinner if I’m back before you.” Kelvin said, surprising the young lady the more as they shared one last kiss before she drove out.
Kelvin stood aside watching her leave, the moment that she was out of the gate, the smile on his face died and he brought out his phone to see that Liliana had been the one calling.
The stupid girl won’t take no for an answer, he didn’t know what he would do with her because he didn’t want the situation, whereby Diana picks his phone up to see that he still had something to do with her when all he had with her had died.
He looked further to see the text message that she dropped last night, asking that they meet up. But all he did was sigh loudly, before moving forward to check the tracker that he put in Diana’s car without her knowing.
He wasn’t stupid.
She’s hiding something from him and he will find out what that is, he just hoped that it had nothing to do with another man.
“Why is she taking another route?” He asked himself, and without wasting any more time, detective husband Kelvin Ross entered his car following the directions the tracker was reading in his phone.
The more he followed his wife, the more he was a step away from finding out what she was hiding. This wasn’t the route to Jessica’s house and neither was it the route to her workplace.
With adrenaline popping and his mind playing all scenarios of how to deal with her if it is what it is his mind was telling him it is, his eyes widened at what he saw when he stopped at the huge mansion that barricaded his car away from that of his wife’s.
The one he got for her yesterday.
His wife was smiling with some man that he couldn’t see his face, before they entered the house.
Diana Ross is officially a dead woman!
