Chapter 56
LIANNA
When I decided (and finally managed) to go to Caleb, I heard moans coming from his room, and even some banging.
And the voice? The voice was Kalia's.
That made me completely enraged at that moment because honestly, how could he? How could he do that? Especially... when it was that bitch who set fire to the damn island, to my people.
A part of me wanted to believe that Caleb couldn't even think or suspect that his fiancée had done that, but still? It still made me completely furious with him, and that bitch? I wanted her head on a fucking platter.
But before that, I wanted to see her in total agony as I took everything away from her, and from the moment I arrived? The most important thing always seemed to be the relationship she had with Caleb, which didn't make things so difficult for me, honestly.
Because he might be fucking her now, but he clearly preferred to be close to me, and honestly? He didn't seem like he would object if I did something to that snake he called his fiancée.
So, I returned to the room feeling satisfied, laid down on my bed, and waited for the next day to come so that I could put one of my plans into action.
What did the plan consist of? Well, to disrupt any moment between Kalia and Caleb.
So when I woke up, I got dressed, put on perfume, and even tied my hair up to make the neckline of my dress more noticeable because let's face it... Caleb was still a man, and a man... will always look at something that catches his attention.
So, when I finished getting ready, I went to Caleb's room, which now had several trays on a small folding table with various foods that made my mouth water just by looking at them.
"Good morning!" I said as I knocked on the door, "Caleb, can I come in?" I asked, just to open the door for myself and give a wide smile.
"I'm with Kalia now." He seemed to remember, the smile now turning into something more controlled.
"No problem!" I said as if I had no clue, but that would be part of my role at that moment, to annoy that little thing called Kalia Hanover, "come on, excuse me, I'm starving."
Caleb just sighed as he returned to where he was, only to be shot by those pink eyes.
It was going to be fun.
CALEB
Kalia was clearly looking at me with that face of someone who wanted to kill me, which only made me force a smile.
"Darling, would you mind if Lianna joined us for breakfast?" I threw the decision at her, because if Kalia was going to be mad about something... I preferred it not to be me, because I had just regained my good mood, and hers too.
"I trust your decision-making power, dear." She replied with a fucking smile on her face, which made a vein pop on my forehead (which contrasted with the blush on my face).
That bitch, damn her, she wanted to fuck me! But if that's what she wanted, I wouldn't make it easy for her either.
"Well, why don't you two take this opportunity to get to know each other better, huh?" I said as I looked at both of them, but those pink eyes? They seemed like they wanted to gouge my head out just with the power of their minds.
"Yes, it would be a great time for us to get to know each other, don't you think, Kalia?" Lianna said with a smirk on her face, one that seemed as cynical as her tone, "we never really talked, after all."
On Kalia's face, it was clearly written: "and I want it to stay that way."
"Yes, of course." Kalia replied with a tone full of disdain, "why don't you eat a little, huh? And be careful not to choke."
"Don't worry, dear... bigger things have already been in my mouth." Lianna clearly provoked, and Kalia? Looked at me with so much hatred that I thought a hole would form in my face.
"Stay calm, dear... what did you think it was?" Lianna started laughing, grabbing a small bread that was in front of her, "where I come from, the breads are much bigger than this."
I took a deep breath.
"I didn't know that humans also had the habit of making bread." I said with a certain ignorance because I never researched much about their culture or what they ate.
"Yes, we eat a lot too." She said, taking some jam, "we have more customs in common with you than you imagine."
"I highly doubt it." Kalia mocked, "what else do you have in common with us?"
"Other than the fact that I don't turn into an animal, dear..." Lianna said with a velvety tone, "I would say we have the same body, and even... the same taste in men, don't you agree?"
Those emerald eyes looked at those pink eyes as if they were asking them if they would fall for that little provocation.
I just felt it.
I felt Kalia's hand squeezing me under the table, so hard that it almost made me groan.
Why did I have to pay for that?
Why did I have to be caught in the crossfire?
I hadn't even done anything.
But what was I going to do? Anything I did in that moment would be taken as wrong, and honestly? Just my existence seemed wrong at that moment, to the point that I didn't know why Kalia still wanted to torture me, or why she had told me to decide earlier.
I didn't want Lianna to distance herself even more than she already had, but I also didn't want her nagging me later.
I would turn gray before 30 with those two. If I didn't have a heart attack from the stress it was causing me, because something inside me... knew that the cold war wouldn't end anytime soon.
